Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2
Great Gundam Game
This is not your typical Gundam game. I really loved the first one and when I picked this up it blew my mind away. The new gundams are great the only thing I wish is that they would have included more of the Gundams from the Gundam Wing and G Gundam storylines not to mention including those from Gundam 00. I would have loved to have played this game as either Sandrock or Deathscythe. I am disappointed that they still focused a lot on the hacking and slashing aspect of the Dynasty Warriors yet there wasn't much improvement from the first one as to the use of firearms and missiles. The voice acting was great and I have put about 40 hours into this game and I am still going strong. This game has endless possibilities and is much more challenging than the first one. The upgrade system is definitely improved and it is a lot of fun to play online against people. The game play is flawless and this game has very few shortcomings compared to all of its pluses.
this game is great....to a point.
The gundam series has had its ups and downs, The shows were great, but the games were ok, till DW made a gundam game, I waited 3 months to get it and i was impressed to an extent. The story was awesome, it made it seem like you knew what was gonna happen. controls were easy, sound was good....It was missing a few key things......more mobile suits, and more characters.....They forgot about the G gundams like Maxter, Bolt, Dragon, Shadow, and even the original Shining gundam and the original Domon. The Same thing with Wing. Having the Wing Zero and Epyon are cool, but where's Deathscythe. I know alot of ppl wanted that, The Talgeese 3, the Customs to Endless Waltz. Heavyarms,Altron,Sandrock, the original Heero and the AngelWing Zero. Including Treize. More of the Seed gundams and the newest gundam series. the game is great, but more of the series that most ppl remember, Wing and Gundam. please bring the the battle of Wufei and Heero back. The shuffle alliance back. Some of the transforming gundams from G. Again, great game, too little G and Wing Gundams.
Gundam returns again in the shape of a sequel.. Is it a hit? Or a miss?
I'm sure many of you are gonna right this game off because... Well one reason it has (gundam) in the title and for many this is not a good name to see, but it is not always such a horrible thing and not only good for fans. In this sequel we see many new added gundams from across different gundam anime's like seed and the like. One thing people will like about this game is all the new game mods and selections, like a new vs mode, a new story mode to experience all the characters stories and just tons of things about it that make it very re-playable to an average gamer as well. Story- Well the story is not really going out of the box as in this title, you go and see the original stories from the anime's and enjoy them, and as a fan I am very pleased that in this title they do not take much out of the story like in other gundam games in the past~ graphics and animation- Well I am very impressed with this game in the graphics and all the bloom used really works, it captures a better feel of gundam than the original and most if not all other gundam games... While it does have some frame rate issues at times it can be spot on and very enjoyable to look at. sound design- Well this is one thing to say and that is that the sound is perfect^^ Catching every ounce and feel of gundam fights and you can enjoy the marvel of the ever attack you use and the great voice actors.. On my home theater setup I am really impressed with it... controls and interface- The controls are perfect, it is very easy to get used to and hard to master as all games need this.. While you can obviously mow down enemies like in an average dynasty warrior way but you are encouraged to try new ways and master combat skills in the game which makes it far more deep than most would think! The interface is very simplistic to look at and going from menu to menu and changing things is very very easy and anyone even casual gamers can look at it and understand it. length and challenge- The game has only one slight issue it is not that hard like all dynasty warrior games which is not always a bad thing but they should add some challenge in the next game *sheesh* But the overall length depends on how you play the game and so this game can be a very addicting and long experience. Overall thoughts- I really enjoy this game and feel it is worth every penny and I also feel that this is a must get for any fan of both series or just an average gamer, well either way it is very awesome^^ other comments- While I have enjoyed the game, i am still waiting for that ps3 game that sony promised us back in 05.. Well I guess I am stuck at this point..
I just picked up this game and WOW! I have fallen in love with it. It has really improved since the first one, and even builds more on the original dynasty warriors playability. levels are just long enough for you to get into them, but short enough not to get too bored, A heck of alot of gundams are available from the start, each with amazing own special unique moves. Online versus is fun, graphics have also been amed up as well. It also introduces original story lines from the anime, as well as a mix of the different universes. If you havent tried the first game, that is fine, it picks you right up to speed, and is quick to pull off some of the massive crowd devistating moves. Which also leads to another apsect, how powerful you feel. Enemy mobs are about hundred time bigger, making it more pleasurable to kill them all, and when you secure zones, it feels like it has an actual impact on the outcome of the match. Over all very fun game, and easy for newcomers to get into. I would put this on a must buy list for not just gundam or dynasty warrior fans, but also hardcore action players as well
Hugh Gundam Fan!
I love Gundam. I played the first one and enjoyed destroying all my enemies. I would like to gundam fight online with other players on teams or each other just like the anime cartoon. The graphics and characters look great on this one. I wonder if they made it for us to create our own Gundam? That would be SWEET! Well, we'll see when the game comes out next week.
This game is amazing!!!
I LOVED this game, and I can guarantee that if your a slash and stab fan, a gundam fan, or even a fan of great games that you'll love this game. the only thing is that I wanted more G gundam characters like Chipodee and Gundam Maxter, George and Gundam Rose, Argo and Bolt Gundam, Si Sichi and Dragon Gundam.
For those looking for more info...
This game looks like it may be the one I've been waiting for. The first Dynasty Warriors: Gundam game was fantastic with only a few pitfalls. Almost all of these have been fixed with the sequel. Partial list of changes includes: -Easier to combo, all class 1 (Think rx-78-2 and wing zero level suits) mobile suits have 6 attack long melee strings that flow better. -Shooting is actually useful! It still plays second fiddle to melee but its not garbage anymore. -More units! Including the playable grunt suits, there are over 60 different units to choose from. -Replay value! With the new mission mode, chances are you will be playing this one until DN: Gundam 3 is out in America. This just covers a handful of the changes and updates, as there is plenty more to be seen.
A great game gets better!
For the people who bash this game, no it's not a Gundam simulator a la what the Wii got, and what the Xbox360 still has in the pipe. But it is indeed a fun game. Fighting giant mobile Armors is not only fun but a major challenge to the player. In space you don't walk around, you hover around. You can't attack up or down, but you can use your boosters to launch ranged or melee attacks from a greater hight than the enemy (they can also do the same). The refined controls are way more responsive and less clunky this time around. Gundams move like they do in the show, shine like they do in the show, and yes, even fly like they do in the show. IE The boost on ground leaves a cool dust trail behind the player, but in space it lets you move twice as fast. All in all this game is a nice side show to what could be a great Gundam Sim game in the pipe for the Xbox360. Only time will tell, however. Still this game dose some great things with the Dynasty Warriors franchise, and on top of that stays true to the Gundam name by keeping the style, look, sounds, and even the way the cutscenes were done are sometimes shot for shot from the anime! It's great to be able to play all the different stories and the length is very long: Even after you beat the main story plot there will be extra missions to unlock and finish as well. What I like is that this time around the range attacks can be used in Air Based or ground based forms and deal more damage, and even some of them are now mosu attacks! IE Wing Zero unleashes his double Buster Beam Cannon attack via Mosu, and likewise Armuos Nu Gundam can unleash his fin funnels in a rather large area style attack. You can even combine attacks with other players and unlock more parts to increase your armor, and attack stats. Great game and a great franchise! I hope we see more! There are some missing mobile suits but there are so many Gundam Anime shows it would be impossible to include them all in one game.
Sweet!! Gundam does it again!!
Dynasty warriors gundam 2 is definatly a huge improvment from the first one. There are many new gundams, story lines, and special attacks!! Once i got it i started playing it immediatly and i got addicted to it, my parents even have a hard time getting me to stop playing. The huge gundams were a fun new thing they added to this game, and they did great. Fighting the big gundams are fun yet challenging at the same time. The story mode, or "official mode" follows the anime series and it's a pretty long game in my opinion because for one character there are many missions and you get more as you progress. There's many more playable characters and mobile suits. So far my favorite is and always has been the freedom strike gundam. This time around you can do special attacks in the air also, and there are sp levels atoo, so fill up that sp bar and let it go! The graphics, gameplay, and sound go together perfectly, it's as if you're the pilot!! If you're a fan of the series, this would be a game for you. Or if you like giant fighting robots and slashing and blasting through hordes of enemies, then you should get this game. IT'S FREAK'N AWSOME!!!! But don't take my word for it, go get it and find out yourself, it'll be totally worth your money.
Well, here we are. Another gundam game. Oh great, here we go again. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, this is yet another disgrace to the name of Gundam. I still haven't found that beautiful, perfect game yet that I can call good to the name of Gundam. The game is rather, well, boring. Mindless groups of enemies stand there as you attempt to kill them, and when you clear enough so that your allies come and hold the area, your allies are just as braindead. Ingenius? I think not. The story is alright...the normal Dynasty Warriors thrown together thing. It IS interesting how they weave multiple storylines together, but it only just works. And the gameplay forces the story anyway. The controls consist of two buttons: attack and dash. Yay, right? Wrong. Attack is a constant button, and animations get old after awhile. Oh, did I mention the graphics? Yeah, can you say PS2/Xbox level graphics? I'd expect more from a next generation game. At least make it look like it was an ATTEMPT at next-gen graphics...or make my Gundam able to view foes from more than ten feet away. The only positive thing I can really chat about is the sound. While some sounds are repetitive (sword slashes, beam sounds), the voice acting is perfect, and taken directly from the animes. Fans will LOVE the sound, thankfully. Sadly, that's about it. It's a game where you defeat mindless enemies over. And over. And over again. If Gundam is your passion or if you absolutely must have another DW game, here it is. If not, you'll be sadly disappointed.
