Good for a specific audience.
The game Duke Nukem: Forever is a sequel to one of the most popular games of all time and has been in the making for twelve years. The game is good for hardcore gamers who like shooting and plently of puzzles but the crude and raunchy humor sometimes goes a bit too far. Now this game appeals to teenagers who dont want just mind numming shooting like a classic Call of Duty but want a bit of a challenge along with crude humor that is usually either a somewhat comical joke or just taking it over the top with language and a very unrespectful view towards women as well as some are too outdated. It appeals to hardcore Duke fans more than anything however. It was a dissapointment to many because it took twelve years to make and didn't show that that much effort and work was put into it. The special edition is definetly worth the money as it has alot of interesting stuff. So overall the game is decent but would have been more successful if it came out in 2005 and they said it was being made for 1 or 2 years.
bad on every level but one.....
ok the limited edition isnt woth 100$ or evern 80$ for many reasons, it doesnt come with very cool stuff like the bust fits in the palm of your hand, the hardcover book is just pictures of girls, the post cards are good, the sticker is boreing, the comic book is the same as the hardcover book its just drawings of girls, it only comes with two poker chips, the card deck is even smaller than one might have expected, and the disc is just wierd and gross. but even the game is boreing it has bad graphics and when i say bad gaphics i mean nintendo 64 graphics! the gameplay is boreing and stail, and when you stop playing it, and i garenty you will wont to after 30 minutes, you wont want to play it for a very long time, the only good thing is the sound it really fits the mood, but just that doesnt make up for all the huge dissapointments this game will offer through out the entire game. so word of advise, dont buy the limited edition, dont buy the standard edition, and dont buy the Strategy Guide!
Critics and CoD fanboys go home
Don't be fooled by critics and CoD fanboys duke nukem forever is actually a really fun game at it's core. I'm not saying the games perfect as it has MANY flaws. But all in all the single player is really fun and the multiplayer is fantastic sure it could use a patch or two but honestly this game is better than 90% of the games that come out these days. As for the limited edition I truly enjoyed it. The bust is pretty cool gambling items are ok cards are pretty disappointing. But the comic book and art book is where it really shines. The comic book i thought was actually pretty neat and interesting and the art book really gets into the long development of DNF in good detail. All in all if your a fan of old school games like Doom and Quake then this ones for you. If you like modern games like CoD and Battlefield just stay away as you probably wont like it.
Over a decade in the making.
Hail to the King, Baby! Back and with balls of steel, The Duke, himself, has said this is twelve years in the making. Through trial and error, hardship and near defeat... finally, 2011 is the year of The Duke! In an era where First-Person is dominated by Call of Duty and Halo, finally a old challenger steps in to take back his throne. The time of the silent warrior is over! Fans of old and new will rejoice with the fresh take on the FPS genre as they get to control the beer chugging, urinal abusing, alien-slagging, chick-saving hero that helped create the genre that has evolved into what it is today.
All that's missing from the Special Edition is...
That DUKE 360 controller from the trailer! It would REALLY complete the package. Not pre-ordering until I see it. >:| Either way, I'm pre-ordering when Gamestop tells me it's their last day to get pre-orders. :P
King of all shooters
Duke Nukem Forever is still on course for its May release. Between now and then, Gearbox will open up on multiplayer, which is expected to be a major part of Duke Nukem Forever. I'm curious to see what Gearbox does with online considering its ample experience in multiplayer. Will that half of Duke also stick to its 1997 roots, or could we see a healthier dose of innovation creep into Duke Nukem Forever there?
A highly anticipated, and awesome game.
Myself along with MILLIONS of Duke Nukem fans & supporters have been awaiting this day for such a long time. Duke Nukem has been out of the picture for far too long and it is about time that it has surfaced. With today's graphic's and yesterdays "King" of alien butt kicking back in action. This game will surely take the world of FPS gamers of old and new by storm.
~Hail to the King!!!
Is it me or is it fun to say Balls of Steel. Balls of Steel
So worth the money.
I just preordered this!!!! Everybody told me it wasn't worth the money for the BOSE, but when you think about it, you spend more than this in 2 years of call of duty. This is 100 every 14 years. That's not even 10 a year. Anyway, downloaded Manhattan Project and 3d to keep me busy until May 3rd. Really hope this game lives up to the expectations. Even if it doesn't, I'll still get to play great poker with these cards and chips, and dice games with the dice!!!!!!!
