by Supermcawsomevill Awesomeness to the max
This game is really awesome. Its all about the balance Dragonball Z games that first went to the PS2 and gamecube. The only bad thing about this is the original music was replaced by the Dragonball raging blast soundtrack (witch by the way isent bad)

by tickatickatock Will be Best ps2 Remaster to date!
I've played all dragonball z games from Ultimate battle 22 on psOne to today.
Budokai 3: Is and always wil be the best dragonball z game ever, to me that is. It has used great meaning to the 3d display ablilty on ps2 and no doubt will the hd added for this remake. Story mode in the game has an UNBELIEVABLE amount of repliablity. Yeah im talking to you Goku and you large scenario missions. Once you completely beat scenario mode you unlock Dragon Arena.
Budokai: Eh! Its alright

I'm reliving the DBZ experience by watching the whole series, now with my son. Now that hes at that age to fully understand the show and play a game based on such a great series, i want to start him off on this title. I remember Budokai being a pretty straight forward fighter, with not so much flying around. I'm glad i held off on the other DBZ titles. Its worth the wait for nostalgia sake.
Rated 9 out of 10 by Gog535 Greatest DBZ Game Ever
Dragon Ball Z Budakai 3 is by far the best DBZ game of all time. It is even one of the best fighting games ever. This game has amazing gameplay and 38 characters to play as. While this number is lower than some of the new games, unlike the new games, almost all of the characters feel and play different. Instead of over 100 characters who play exactly the same but look different, you are given 38 diverse characters. This game is a little over six years old so don't expect cutting edge graphics and whatnot but it has aged very well. There are many modes to play such as a story, versus and tournament. I have put an uncountable number of hours into this game and loved every second of it. While $40 may seem like a bit much for a six year old game but trust me, if you are a fan of DBZ or fighting games in general, you will not regret buying this game. All of what I have said was referring to Budokai 3. The first one is a decent game but I see it only as an added bonus to purchasing this game.
Rated 10 out of 10 by themasterdancer123 This is Awesome
I am a huge Dragon Ball Z fan, i have watched all of the episodes from the first season, i like everything about Dragon Ball Z, my favorite characters is Goku, Gohan Goten Vegeta and all of the other good guys, i will never stop being a Dragon Ball Z fan. Let me talk about this, i like the game play because its easy and i only have to press a few buttons. On Dragon Ball z Budokai 3 i have unlocked SSJ 4 for Goku and Vegeta i have unlock Gogeta Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta and Vegito and i like that because people can't defeat me and i like the way the designers made them because they look just like the anime, and i never had Budokai 3 for my Nintendo GameCube, so i am very happy to be able to play Budokai 3, one thing is i like is the dragon rush because i like to guess which buttons my friend is pressing so i can press the same and block his attack, the sound is awesome and so is everything else, one thing i don't like is they didn't add Budokai 2, that would've been awesome, but i don't care, this is awesome !!!!
Rated 8 out of 10 by jeffero75 Nothing Has Changed; Doesn't Mean It's Bad
What can I say? These two are the classics that got me to loving the television show. This is a must buy for any DBZ fan. As the title states, both are exactly as they were before. I know where they are coming from when they decided to not make any changes, but I think they would've done better and sold more if they added online play. It would've definately sold more. I'm sure they left 2 out because 1 and 3 were really the big breakthroughs in gaming. For anyone looking to purchase this i would definatly wait til a price drop comes. I feel that it'll drop within a few months; I really wish I had waited. Overall, I satisfied about the remastered graphics. You can really tell a difference in moreso 3 than 1. I rated an 8 because of lack of online play and respect for the classics. Check out my other reviews and tell me what you think. I'm on xbox live playing Assassin's Creed, CoD, Halo 4, and othe popular title so shoot me a request. Gamertag is jeffero75.
Rated 8 out of 10 by ProjectM2 Budokai is back!
This "collection" is rather pretty good. With Budokai 3 and Budokai 1, this collection should bought by any DBZ fan. The downside of this collection was the replaced music, but you can always replace the music. Both games are far more improved in graphically terms than the originals. However, Budokai 1 and Budokai 3's cutscenes and intros are still in their original 4:3 format, so you better expect some borders! Despite the lack of online gameplay, this is still a worthy collection to purchase (it seems very hard to add an online option for games released in the early 2000's) .
Rated 8 out of 10 by MGSH How a DBZ game should be done
Dragonball Z Budokai HD Collection consist of 2 of the best DBZ games ever made. That being Budokai 1 and best of all Budokai 3. What made these games stand out from the rest of the DBZ games were: Budokai 1 was the first DBZ game to be made a successful fighter and Budokai 3 is considered one of the best dbz games so far. The gameplay is silky smooth and fast paste and feels like the animated series (mainly appeals to Budokai3). The graphics are great. Not as good as the new DBZ games but Budokai 3 graphics still stands tall, and looks pretty good and sharp even until now (good job). The sound is probably the only bad this game has to offer. Soundtracks are feel awkward and should have used the old nostalgic ones in the original versions. Aside from that DBZ budokai Hd collection is just great and very satisfying for dbz fans looking forward to replay good old times. The disappointing thing this game did, was the lack of online gameplay. This would have made the game a lot better seeing this is one of the best dbz fighting games out there. Overall this is a good dbz game and can satisfy both fans and non fans. TRY IT.
Rated 1 out of 10 by Viselin This was not in my expectations
First thing these two games were not within my expectations, the makers of these games completely changed the way on how I grew up playing the budokai series, throughout the time i was playing a couple of questions were burning inside my brain: Why did you change the music?, Where is the online Multiplayer? And If you really wanted to bring back the traditional Budokai series WHY THE HECK WOULD YOU WOULD YOU CHANGE ANYTHING ABOUT?!?!? let alone take out budokai 2 and simply state the reason "It wasn't popular Demanded". If you really understood DIE HARD Budokai fanatics you should have took in the consideration on how these "Improvements" would affect serious budokai player I pray that there will some changes made to where it can back to being the ORIGINAL Budokai series to the way it was back when it first came out
Rated 8 out of 10 by KillsreakXd977 DBZ Budokai HD Review
First off I would like to just say I'm only disappointed in 2 things no online multiplayer and no Budokai 2, this made me the most angry because it was not a complete HD series. Anyway the graphics were slightly updated from the original series and they still looked decent so I was happy with that and it brought back some fond memories. The sound was good no real glitches but I has disappointed at no jap. audio for Budokai 1. The game play is smooth and was super fun being the traditional fighter one vs one. and the attacks were actually pretty fun and flashy. This game provided me with many hours of fun and is a definite must buy for any DBZ fan. I give it an 8/10 and would recommend it to most people
