Classes

As part of creating your Inquisitor, you will be able to choose between three distinct classes. Each comes with a unique set of abilities, weaponry, special moves, and even class-reactive story content. Further, as your Inquisitor grows in power, you will be able to select a specialization. These advanced classes introduce entirely new abilities to your combat repertoire.

Warrior

Battle-hardened and masters of close combat, warriors are pivotal to any group entering battle. As front-line fighters, they absorb the brunt of opponent attacks, steal enemy focus, and create an opening for deadly ranged assaults from other classes. While some warriors prefer visceral, sweeping damage, many are silverite-clad bulwarks, weathering any blows they don't deflect with their shields.

Mage

Those who can tap into the raw energy of the Fade and block the whispering temptations of demons are truly exceptional. When they turn that mental focus onto the field of war, they can be truly terrifying opponents. Rains of fire, walls of ice, or even the ability to heal allies make up a mage's toolkit. Most employ considerable skills rendering foes not only weakened, but also vulnerable to physical attacks, setting up opportunities for their teammates to exploit.

Rogue

Armed with bows, daggers, and any number of dirty tricks, the rogue's primary focus is damage: tearing foes down one at a time with systematic efficiency. Rogues commonly use a mixture of stealth and mobility to reach positions of advantage, be it a sniper's perch away from enemy blades or behind an unsuspecting mage. Deadly and resourceful, rogues can tip the balance of any strategic assault.

Characters

Vivienne

Referred to as Madame de Fer, "the Lady of Iron", Vivienne lives up to her title. A leader among the mages and official enchanter to the Imperial court, she is renowned as a fearsome woman who achieved her position through guile and deft political maneuvering. Vivienne allows nothing to stand in the way of what she desires - not those who claim she is a social climber, not those who seek to restrict her power, not even her fellow mages who would conscript her into a rebellion with which she disagrees. Vivienne fights to restore order in a world gone mad...so long as that leaves her among those left standing, once all is said and done.

Cassandra Pentaghast

Though of noble birth, Cassandra Pentaghast turned her back on a life of wealth and privilege to join the Seekers of Truth. The ancient order serves as a watchful eye over corruption and magical threats, granted ultimate authority in its investigations by the Chantry - or it did, prior to abandoning their duty in response to the mage rebellion. Cassandra did not join her brothers in this, instead remaining loyal to Divine Justinia and her efforts to restore order in the face of chaos. She is both pious and driven, the sword in the right hand of the Divine, seeking justice above all else.

Morrigan

Whether the dark-haired sorceress seeks to influence the Imperial throne, or harbors more sinister motives, no-one knows for certain. This Witch of the Wilds arrived in Orlais rather suddenly three years ago as the newly-appointed "arcane advisor" to Empress Celene. In this role, Morrigan presents a source of information unfiltered by religious dogma, and satisfies Celene's life-long curiosity about magic. However, whispers carry concern of Morrigan having Celene wrapped around her finger, teaching the Empress forbidden, dark arts in secret.

Varric Tethras

Varric Tethras is one part adventurous rogue, one part dashing storyteller, and three parts trouble. Born on the surface, Varric has little love for his underground brethren - all his contacts lie with the dwarves of the Merchants Guild, though he has little taste for their schemes. Still, he has found a place as an outsider, rubbing shoulders with both the wealthy elite as well as the worst of scoundrels. To hear him tell of it, that's all he truly cares about, though anyone who truly knows him claims differently. They say that, try as he might, Varric has been drawn more and more into conflicts that shake the world - ones that he can't get himself out of with a quick tale.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 10/10 would recommend Lets start with dragon age origins. I could not get into the game. it just wasn't for me. No open world, everything is so strict, its super easy for you to die... so because of that i never got into DA2. I was looking for games that had an rpg style with rouge classes. And one website pointed me to this game. It was decently priced so i went and bought it. i played for 6 hours last night absolutely loving the game! now, its not my #1 game, but its up there for sure. If you are like me and love the rpg with rouge classes, you'll love this game. A lot like skyrim (which is my #1) but different so you can still have fun. 10/10 would recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great I've only played a little of the game but so far the worst of the glitches are textures loading slowly, and ocasional sound garbling, nothing here to ruin this game experiense, The Pros far outweigh the cons

Rated 1 out of 5 by from i love this game this game is great, graphics, story, and combat are all top notch. my favorite part though is how the guy the sold it to me neglected to mention that written in impossibly tiny text on the back of the case does it say a hard drive is REQUIRED to play this game. not a usb or a memory card, a roughly 60 dollar hard drive that's sold separately of the system i just paid over a hundred bucks for. i realize gamestop didn't design the 360, but when someone is buying a game with a system you could probably mention that in order to play the game you just bought with it you need an extra thing you need to get separately and for an unreasonable amount of money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from complete garbage They should have never made this game for 360, its like they just didn't even care when making this version of the game, do not pay full price for this game, do not even buy it for 360, Its terrible, the graphics are complete TRASH GARBAGE A JOKE, its XBOX/PS2 GRAPHICS!!! SO BAD!! Dragon Age 2 was millions of times better, this is just a complete waste of development, if bioware was going to basically put the least amount of effort possible into this version versus next gen versions, then why even bother making the game to begin with? LAG LAG LAG GRAPHICAL LAG AROUND EVERY CORNER!!! audio is complete trash, words mix together so its all gibberish when characters try to talk they say the first two letters of the word then say the next word, so if they are trying to say "hi how are you" you would hear, "I-w-r-u" all skipped and glitched. JUST AN ABSOLUTE ABOMINATION OF A GAME!!!! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Join the Inquisition While I haven't had this game for an extended period of time, what I have played of it is simply amazing. From the graphics to the sound, DA: I is heartily recommended. It does help to have some background on the Dragon Age universe to understand what's going on, but otherwise this game is excellent and on par with games such as TES 5: Skyrim. Many folks have been complaining of the font size. I was one such as this, until I switched the game viewing over to my 19 inch monitor with an HDMI cable. Since then, everything is crisp and clear as a bell. As far as glitches go, so far I've only found a handful and one freeze up, but otherwise the game plays very smoothly with nary a hiccup in sight. Much to do and see in this game...so much so you might forget you have a main quest to accomplish. By all means, folks, take your time with this one. NOT recommended for folks who want to beat a game in a matter of hours. This game is an adventure to last you many, many hours...and possibly weeks to months. Highly recommended to RPG fanatics such as myself, and well placed in my Xbox 360 library of games.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Needs Work This game was much anticipated and was really excited when was released. After playing the game all the way thru I felt very disappointed. The game is plagued with bugs, Graphics were not as good as previous versions of dragon age, no storage in game unlike every other dragon age before it I wanted so much to love this game like all the dragon age games before it but instead I felt let down by the whole experience. If this is the best they can do not my advice is to close the doors and start looking for another job because they failed at this one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty Good I really like this game. I am only 10 hours into it and have encountered one audio bug, which was a minor fade in and out in characters talking, and a few glitches I managed to save with switching to another character who was not stuck in the place between a hill and a wall. Overall, I thought it is a really nice experience with lots of things to do. One thing is that I play on an SD TV, so I can't read most of the words, but it is still kind of readable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AMAZING I don't know why there are so many negative reviews for this game. I absolutely love it. There are so many things to do in this game, the graphics are great even on xbox 360, the sound is awesome, the voice acting is great, and the soundtrack is beautiful. The world looks amazing, and the possibilities are endless. You can do anything from story missions to side missions that involve setting up camps to spread your influence over the land as a ruler, or getting armor and weapons for your army. The possibilities are so vast that you can play this game over as many times as you like and never get tired of it. This game is absolutely worth every penny of the $60 that it costs. Buy this game.
