Rated 10 out of 10 by ATVRIDER Amazing Game... But Could Be Better...
Dirt 2 is the most realistic as any rally game gets and has amazing graphics! The variety of cars is somewhat nice but the fact that there are no BMW or 350Z rally cars haha but the point of that you can drive one is pretty cool. One thing that was depressing for me was that in the X-Games America the game would have gone up wayy higher in my book if they actually would have made an exact replica of the normal X-Games Crossover Track. Also for the players that think that the game is unrealistic because the Driver shifts up and down, not going into any slots like a 5 or 6 speed, its because Rally cars have a transmission that only makes the driver have to choose to go Up a gear or Downshift. Ive watched rally car!! Other then that, the game is perfect 10 the Subaru STI Sounds like the one on Ken Blocks youtube videos, you can test it they sound the exact same. Anyways, Dirt 2 Is an excellent rally car racer and I hope the game goes on as long as rally car does!

I just got done playing the demo for dirt2 and Me and dirt may have to part ways. In my opinion the game has been ruined, the driving physics have a wierd over responsive very arcade game feel. The cars have lost there realism with the addition of the crazy wings and scoops and canards. These things look like fighter jets with 4 wheels. And yes i admit that the career physics in the original was boring but now we are racing for money to buy "Awsome Fuzzy Dice" and different horn sounds??? Real rally has none of this garbage. Dirt was and still is my favorite racing game and now it looks like im just going to have to delete my career and start a new one. The great thing about Gran Tourismo is that its been the same game since the beggining with the addition of new cars and tracks, and thats important to some people. I was hoping for the same outcome with dirt2 but it appers that sequals really are worse than the originals with very few exceptions. I hope that codemasters gets more bad reviews like mine and takes it as constructive critisizum and redeems them selves for dirt3. Ill keep my fingers crossed.
Rated 9 out of 10 by Makaidos8 Beautiful, fun offroad racing
Graphics are beautiful, even distant objects are rendered very well. Locations are gorgeous and artistic with lush trees, sun flares, flying dust and even tire tracks. The flashback concept is very unique, where if you crash or swerve out of control, you can rewind the past 5-10 seconds to before you messed up. You can set what difficult you want to race each race on, and though the NPC drivers are better and you have fewere flashbacks with increased difficulty, you get more money. Money is really only an issue in the first half of the game though, once you have some decent cars you'll barely have to spend any. Really fun to drive in the the dirt and over hills, much more so than racing through a typical city or race track. Only complaint is that there isn't any local two-player racing. Really gorgeous and fun one-player racer all-around.

Dirt 1 was great. Great response timing from different cars, tracks, multiplayer, insane replay mode similar to the one in grid, one of the best games to portray actual car damage, sick crashes, and amazing graphics and car details. Now. Dirt 2 is all that time 3. Played through the demo multiple time and i already want to preorder. Main menu has been completely revamped. its pretty similar to the Need the For Speed Pro Street Menues where its at races days with ppl car sounds announcers but not quite as annoying and like a trailer where u explore and see all your stats and items. the way they did it is very sylish and fresh. makes you feel like a real racer. the car mechanics are even better as well. turbo lag, drifting, and how easy it is to launch 20 feet in the air and roll 48 times is just. Racing fans dont pass this one up
Rated 10 out of 10 by tonyf simply amazing game
this game is way far superior to the original dirt in every sense. the graphics haven been bumped up quite nicely to look even more realistic. the car handling is much better also. the whole menu system is much easier to follow and so are your stats. this game is just all out pure fun for any kind of racing fan. it pays tribute to the late great colin mcrae also by including cars he drove on his rise to the top of the rally circuit. this year theres also inclusion of the x games circuits which are usually three seperate races all tied into one longer even. get the most points over all to win them. along the way you make friends with some drivers and anger some others if you drive aggressive like i do. if theres one racing game you buy this year make sure dirt 2 is on your list or youll be missing out on one hell of a ride.
Rated 10 out of 10 by DellDuck Buy this game......PERIOD!
You will love this game! This game is the definition of a sequel. this is everything a sequal should be.....better than the first! I won't even go into details, because there is simply too much to mention. If you are a racing game fan, off road racing fan, or both, or even if you have never picked up a racing game in your life, try this game. It's INSANE! The graphics are so beautiful, the controls are top of the line. The cars actually finally stick to the track without eliminating that rally racing feel of sliding around corners. The game is very pick up and play friendly. You don't get overwhemled trying to keep up with everything you need to acommplish. Plenty of cars, and a good amount of customizable features for each car, such as a wide variety of skins for your cars, and toys you can hang from your mirrors, and place on your dashboards. Even the replay makes it look like you are watching a real rally race on a sports channel, instead of playing a video game. Simply put, everything about this game was created perfectly. This game should be in everyones Xbox 360 game collection. Fans of racing games or not, this game is definitely worth the money
Rated 9 out of 10 by A7Xfan24 Excellent game, but you need finesse to enjoy it.
I picked up DiRT 2 when it was first released, and when i ran my first race, I was surprised, and blown away at the same time. First off, the physics are unbelieveable, from powerslides, to drifts, and your own racing moves, this game can do all of that. However, you need to have a pretty good sense of driving and racing games, as the handling is really tough to get a hold of. Casual racers are going to have a tough time, constantly crashing or finishing in last. The career is great, and the way they plugged in voice actors, like Pastrana, Mirra, Block, and Foust is great. The graphics are absolutely incredible, and the damage model is one of the best on the market. Online is stable and fun, as well. Buy this game, it's amazing. But give it some time, or else you're going to want to toss it out the window.
Rated 10 out of 10 by DragonMachine Best off road out there
I have never played the first Dirt game. I herd many good comments and reviews about it, but never got around to playing it. When the second came out, i was quite excited and decided i wouldn't let myself pass this one up. And personally i think this is one of the best racing games I've ever played. The best off road for that matter. The graphics are off the charts amazing! And with great sound effects, a suitable sound track and great overall racing feel, this game defiantly earns It's place among the racing classics. It's nice to see a large vehicle variety with many different racing events, but the customization however, is limited to only liveries, horns and dashboard toys. It would be nice to see some deeper performance upgrades and maybe some aftermarket parts. I totally recommend Dirt 2 to everyone!

When I picked up my copy of Dirt 2 I knew it would be good, but not this good. Once I unpacked it and slid it into my Xbox 360 and started racing I was amazed. When you are sliding through turns you can feel the bumps and the jumps are awesome. It is a well upgraded from the original Dirt. The vehicles are also amazing. All of the variety of liveries and other customizable games are amazing. When you are in a race and slide through a corner then catch that little puddle of water spinning you out or hit that jump a little off camber and land on two wheels and rollover you realize just how real this game is. Another awesome feature is the replay. When watching the replay, unlike in some other games, the car actually goes in one fluid motion, there is no jumpiness or sliding through obstacles on the track.

This game is absolutely amazing to say the least, although it is quite different from the first DiRT, but yet also better. I love how they incorporated the x-games into it with all the well known drives such as foust, pastrana, brock and mirra. Its a very fun game and if you love to drift this is the game for you. There might have been drifting in the first one but there is definately 10 times the amount of drifting in DiRT 2 which I love! This game is a buy not a rent because you won't be playing this for less than a week if you get your hands on it. Multiplayer is extremely better unlike the horrible mult. in the first. Over all I would give DiRT 2 a 9.5 out of 10 and would recommend it to any racing fan out there, esp. those who love rally cars and extreme events. Get it!
