PandaGamer007 It's okay, but not what the fans have been wanting
I feel that this game was really good, until I found out that the story-line is the same for all the characters. I felt that Namco Bandai has spit in the faces of all digimon fans. I was expecting a better story-line for this game, since it is the first digimon game to release in six years. I really enjoy the battle mode though, but I am not playing the same story over and over again just to unlock more digi-evolutions. The only thing that is different in the story mode for the other digimon is the boss (sometimes) and the order of the opponents. The lasting appeal of this game is bleak, and this digimon game was not advertised well at all, what's up with that? digimon fans across the US and UK need to see more advertising for this game to know about. Just writing this review gave me a headache. What were you thinking Bandai? Digimon fans, like me, want to see the series come back, and you're the only one that can do it.

I've been a fan of digimon since I was a kid and the first PlayStation game I owned was Digimon World. This game is fun to play, though its only seven stages long, it goes by quick after you play the first time around. The best of the game is that you can digivolve once you've gotten enough power to do it, but the only downside to that is the digivolution only lasts for probably 30 seconds. The lava level always gets me, the only level where you can't save how far you go and have to restart the level when you die. The legendary digimon at the end of the lava level varies on which digimon you choose for the story and some of the original digimon have digivolution that I have never seen before until this game. Once you face the legendary digimon, it is a pain, punch them like three times and counter attack when they are about to attack. Don't let them get their special move off, it literally kills you in one blow. All in all, I enjoyed this game and hope more a rpg game comes out where you play the entire series from start to finish.

Rated 9 out of 10 by Dorulumon7 New graphics with old school difficulty.
This game may be a tester sent over to see if there is still a market for Digimon, but that doesn't mean this game isn't fun. Each digimon requires you to master their entirely different play styles, and one just can't mash buttons to win against opponents in this game. Digimon All-Star Rumble has a difficulty curve similar to the PS1 game Rival Schools; you mash specials and attacks against the first few enemies, but eventually the game is going to kick you but if you don't master each character. That said the graphics are beautiful to look at, the digimon move and look great, the music is freakin' awesome to listen to, and replayability against opponents who aren't stupid and to unlock digimon, cards, and digivolutions makes this games worth owning. Plus maybe they'll bring over other Digimon games if this one does well enough.

Rated 1 out of 10 by GreatAether This game is really bad!
this game is really bad! The story is bad the battle mechanics are bad! It's just a real pathetic game... Rumble arena had more characters. the enimies in this game have no stagger points so you basically get hit during all your combos. The digivolving system takes forever to build then last maybe 5 seconds. all the enimies group up making it hard to hit them without taking damage. there is no healing between waves upon waves if the the same enimies so you're basically screwed if you have low health. the vs mode is a. Whoever hits first style so it feels like you have no defense in battle. this game needs thrown in to a river and drowned because its a waste of money an time!! It saddens me to see this cause I'm a real big digimon fan too :(

If you are a casual gamer and like Digimon in general, this is a great game. If you liked Digimon World 4 this game fits the play style but is less stiff, but if you did not like Digimon World 4, you probably would not like it. It is criticized in comparison to other popular beat em up titles. If you compare it too Smash, it will fall short as we all are more comfortable too it's play style, the same goes for comparing it to DBZ Tenkaichi 3. This is by for not a terrible game, it is worth the experience and the good old fashion try. It seems fresh compared too other fighting games. It is a good type of different. This game is meant to be played with friends, the type of friends you use to watch Digimon with, when you were a kid. No regrets.

Bought this game to relive my child a little. Was excited to see they brought back some of the original voice actors. There are three modes: Story, Battle, and Training. Story mode is the same for all characters, but it quickly becomes dull, boring, and repetitive constantly fighting the same six or so enemies through the same stages. It's fun with a group during a party, but again, can become repetitive, especially since there are only a few characters unlocked and Story Mode is the only way to unlock the rest.

THEY COULD HAVE SPENT A LITTLE MORE TIME TRYING TO WORK OUT A BETTER IDEA. THE WAY IT PLAYS AND ALL SEEMS LIKE THEY MADE A BET AND LOST OR WERE DRUNK AND SOMEHOW MADE IT FURTHER THAN A BRAINSTORM FOR IDEAS FOR A GAME. THE GRAPHICS ARE ROUGH. GAMEPLAY BITES A BIT. THERE WERE MULTIPLE BATTLES I COULD NOT GET MY CHARACTER TO BLOCK SO I WAS LOCKED ON THE WRONG SIDE OF A COMBO STRING. IF YOU ARE A FAN OF DIGIMON GAMES DON'T GET IT. IF YOU ARE A FAN OF WASTING MONEY THEN GET IT

It may not be what fans are asking for, but they are releasing this as a testing waters game to see if its worth localizing bigger games that would cost more money to bring over. So if you want Digimon comes to come back to the west get this game and support the cause. This way we have a better chance of the new Cyber Sleuth begin Localized and maybe even Re:digitize.
