Rated 10 out of 10 by OldSkoolGGamer Sandbox mode finally!
The selling point for me was when I found out there was a sandbox mode with no missions and no timers. The mall and strip is yours to just free roam and discover stuff that is easy to miss when you are racing time in campaign mode. The story is basically the same as dead rising 2, which isn't a bad thing. There is also new stuff, a new area with new weapons and combo cards. A visit from Chuck...and he is not doing too well lol. Thank goodness they took out that online arena garbage! This game is well woth the money...you figure if it was DLC you would have to buy dead rising 2 back and the ad-on. Realistically I don't know anyone that did not already trade in DR2. I am a very picky person when it comes to games and I can say I am very pleased with this game! I beat DR2 1 time only so maybe some of you might not like it as much if you beat it numerous times. Make sure you check out sandbox mode there are challenges you can unlock and your XP and money is shared with the campaign...so just roam freely and kill lots of zombies. One last thing easy achievements and the game for some odd reason is alot better with a camera on your neck. Enjoy.
Rated 8 out of 10 by BigD66 Good Game Even If It Could Have Been DLC
This could have easily been DLC, but it is in fact it's own game. I will say that that have made minor tweeks to make the game better. There is a checkpoint system(GASP) and survivors are not stupid. they will not run into a pack of zombies and demand to die. I wish the lovely people at Capcom would have made more changes to the story and added a few more "new" areas and I wish one of the psychopaths wasn't actually a loon...no spoilers, but this is a solid game. It might be worth thirty bucks though, but fans of the series should think about picking this one up. People new to the series get ready for crazy ride filled with nail bats and orange juice. No really. OJ is your best friend in this game. Have some on deck at all times. If you like good games then give this one a shot. Now back zombie killing and AWFUL PUNS! Gotta love a bad pun. GET 'EM FRANK!
Rated 10 out of 10 by SubjectDelta14 Dead Rising 2 From a New Perspective
If you have played the original Dead Rising 2, we know Chuck Greene solved the outbreak. Frank West (Dead Rising 1 protagonist) wants to get back in the game, and solve the outbreak himself. This game is basically a story from another character. Dead Rising 2 is the true story, but this new one is from Frank West's perspective, since he has become very washed up because he lied about everything he knew from the original Dead Rising. Hence "Off the Record", because the story is a "What-if". This game is well worth the $40 and is fantastic. My only complaint is loading times but that has been the same for all the Dead Rising games. Dead Rising 2: Off the Record is a great zombie game, and fun for any zombie fan! I can't wait for Capcom to release another Dead Rising game!
Rated 6 out of 10 by Azezel Just A Huge Cash Grab For Capcom
If you've already played Dead Rising 2 save your money. This version is just playing as Frank West I thought this would be fun but an hour into the game I turned it off. Every Cut scene in the game is copied and pasted from the Original it's just different lines with Frank West's voice. The combat and stuff is still fun and fine. This is only worth it if you like Frank West or you want to kill some Zombies but it's not worth anything other then lower then 20. The sales of this game are way lower then Dead Rising 2 the first one. Look up the sales or a review and decide from there I'm just saying it's a huge cash grab from Capcom just like the Street Fighter and Marvel Vs. Capcom games. Adding in more characters anyone?
Rated 10 out of 10 by MAXHUNTER Paddlesaws and Laser Swords: Zombie Hunter Guide
Dead Rising 2 Off the Record makes other zombie games look cheaply made. Anything is your weapon, including your imagination. Combo weapons return, with some new and epic destroyers. Want a laser sword? Throw together gems and a flashlight. Also, unleash your inner bull by creating the burning skull with a bull skull and motor oil. Don't forget unlockable outfits. Be Protoman, or unleash your inner Psychopath with the psycopath outfit, but don't forget your ninja outfit. The story is unforgettable. Frank West returns in a revisioning of the original Dead Rising 2. In CO-OP mode, player two can play as Chuck Greene, another reason to buy it.
Rated 9 out of 10 by EnterGamrtag If you liked the second . . .
I have to say, If you were a fan of Dead Rising 2 (Like me), You will probably love this game. The Gameplay is however exactly the same as in Dead Rising 2, just as Frank West. If you played Dead Rising 2 the single player gets old very fast, BECAUSE it is the same thing as DR2, although it is interesting to see what some things would be like If you were Frank West. It has no Long Lasting appeal other than the Co-Op, in which case, it is the most fun Co-Op Experience you could have. The Achievements are also very easy to get, I got 16 Achievements without even trying within 3 hours, So don't worry about trouble of 100%-ing it.
Rated 7 out of 10 by Slvaught3 Should Have Been A DLC
I liked all the dead rising games and the DLC that came out afterwards. My brother bought this game yesterday when it was released, and its fun to play, but its pretty much the same game with a different story and a few new areas. Its not a ''new'' game. This game should have been a DLC for around 20 bucks at most! I was hoping that they would come out with the third installment of dead rising but from what I hear now, this may be the last game? Thats a big upset for a story that was ''never'' finsished. I would not buy this game until it drops to 20 bucks, trust me, if you have part 2, then you can wait.
Rated 0 out of 10 by Trippnycmaster I can't wait for this game to come out!
Well, I can't wait for this game to come out because I want to see if Chuck Greene and Frank West successfully destroy the Phenotrans corportation. I've been anticipating this game since I finished "Deadrising 2 Case West." Another reason why I'm going to buy this game is because it's relatively cheap compared to other Xbox 360 games. Overall, I think this may be the best Deadrising game yet. I recommend this game to anybody who loves killing zombies, the Left 4 Dead series, the first two Deadrising games, and the Dawn of the Dead movies!

Just like gta 4 using same old maps and people with a slightly different story. I am bored to death with dead rising 2 this is the same thing rockstar pulls with red dead redemption and red dead zombie. With how much money you guys make would it really be hard to make a new game and stop redoing the same one to milk some more money out of gamers. How about moving on to Deadrising 3 with all new areas and all new people and story....This is download content and does not deserve a DISK to fool you into thinking it is a new game. Same old game AGAIN.....
