In keeping with an atmosphere of desperation and survival by any means, Dead Island focuses on serious, first-person action gameplay with a close-quarter, immersive melee focus.
With an open-world setting on a massive tropical island, Banoi is filled to the brim with things to do and objectives to tackle, allowing a fresh way to advance both the characters and story at the same time and providing for endless replay value.

This game is like a realistic left 4 dead with origional resident evil voice acting. Its realistic, bloody, interesting, and a good time. The game is very much underated by most. Oh dear god is it not perfect, but you'll get your moneys worth.

This game is perfect for: hardcore gamers

This game is great! I just finished the game. It's good because: 1) you get a really good, and developed storyline. 2) you get really good graphics ( VERY rarely you get a bug, but still good 3) leveling up and getting different skills and abilities is AWSOME!!! 4) unli,e cod, you get guns, and a very wide variety of melle weapons (broom stick, knife, even a chain saw that is rare) and you get molotovs, grenades, and tons of more weapons. 5) many types of zombies 6) 3 different "skulls" that heve abilities to find, along with a lot of secrets and Easter eggs. 7) Not only zombies, but you must fight armed rebels two red the middle of the game and beyond. The game does lag time to time, and has 1 or 2 bugs, but this is no reason not to buy it. You may have a hard time playing at first, as did I, but when you get used to it, this game is sweet! Ps: when you play it, be Shute to be signed in to xbl/psn, if not then when you quit, all work is gone! I made that big mistake-hours of work GONE! So be signed in! My advise: BUTY THE GAME!

This game is perfect for: casual gamers

It has been awhile since I have had any system till I bought my xbox 360. This was definitely a game I wanted to try so when I got it, I was not disappointed in the least. It is like resident evil and GTA or Saints row on a first person shooter platform. I love the fact that it is free roam and you can do quests as you please. If there ever is a zombacalypse, I am definitely getting the training through this game.

This game is perfect for: hardcore gamers

This game is VERY fun and it's so cool and unique it's not like any other zombie game it's diffrent in a good way! it's cool and fun but when you get to around 70% completion (the game is really long) the game kinda gets boring and VERY VERY VERY HARD! im stuck at 82% completion doing a mission called the evil purity or something and im with this guy "Ope" and we walk into a village and there's a thug about 6 walkers all level 27 or higher and a scavenger (i HATE scavengers) and it's FRIGGIN IMPOSSIBLE!!!! i beat all of the zombies when i was in rage mode and i had very little health left so i was grabbing apples and energy drinks and stuff and "Ope" was like 15 feet away from me and for NO REASON AT ALL HE FALLS OVER.........DEAD!!!!! and i keep trying it over and over and over but "Ope" keeps getting killed by the thug and i keep getting killed also so if you can please help me give me some tips or something it would be much appreciated! -thanks, J.T.

this game is awful. yeah the concept of it is alright, don't get me wrong. it sets itself apart from other games of the genre. But for a game to make playing the story alone such a hassle is probably the worst idea ever even thought of since the universe began. making it multi-player is fun yes, but to make it only multi-player through xbox live is terrible. the sole reason i thought this game would be fun was to bash in some zombie skulls with my friends in the same room as me while we hang out and laugh. not some stranger that i have to get thrown into the game with and not even have a real team work feel to it. So once i found this out i decided to go it alone through the whole story, i mean why not i dont always want to play online and i mean alot of people dont shell the $60 + a year for xbox live. so why wouldnt playing the main story alone be enjoyable. oh yeah thats right there a specific parts in the game where you are required to play online with someone so you can get past the level. they will send near 500 zombies running at you at one time and to fight them alone is impossible. because your weapons always end up dulling out. or if you find a gun which is what everyone wants it comes with one bullet and ammo is near impossible to find. i would never recommend this waste of time to a friend, and distant relative or someone i absolutely hate because that is just cruel and i wouldn't want the terrible developers to get a cent from anyone. the onlly thing dead island copies would be good for is keeping a fire going on a cold winter night.

This game is perfect for: hardcore gamers

I love this game because,it is basicly like an RPG,you get to choose your way of life,like you can fend for yourself by just killing zombies,or you can live the life of survival and go through story mode,and help other people.At a certain point you will get to drive cars,and I love this feature because you can run over zombies and sometimes blood and gore will splatter all over the screen! You can play by yourself or if you are having trouble killing a big zombie and need help,go to co-op mode and you will get 3 more players to help you get through the adventure.This game does NOT support local multiplayer,although it takes system link and Xbox LIVE (you can buy membership for 3 months for $25.00 price may vary at different places or 1 year for $60.00) I'd say this is a game for the person who CRAVES blood and gore (like me) and an AWESOME GAME!

Dead Island is one of the best zombie games i have ever played. If I were you I would go to the store and buy it right now. I would definitely recommend this game for any person who likes killing zombies or likes hardcore gaming.
