Darksiders really has to be the best game I've played in a while. Not just because it has amazing graphics and brutal finisher moves, but because it has a great story that draws you in right away. On top of that Darksiders has a nice long game play, (roughly 16 hours for me) it also chucked full of bloody fight sequences, sweet weaponry, puzzles (I must say I did need help with a few) and a bunch of easy achievements to unlock for a good amount of gamer G. Overall I think this is one of the best games of the year for me and I would definitely recommend it to any of my friends or fellow demonic game lovers without hesitation. . GLORY LIVES.
Darksiders is Amazing
Darksiders was probably one of the first games I've enjoyed in a while since it incorporated many mechanics from other games. God of war, Zelda, and even portal. (Which by the way, I found hilarious to be running around with a portal gun in a post-apocalyptic game.) Although the game is based off these games, it has it's own unique play style which requires puzzling, fast paced destruction of your enemies, and even thinking around. For example in one of the missions, I decided to light a bunch of torches with my Shuriken because I thought it felt out of place. Viola, life-leech for my gigantic sword. The game requires you think in a fun way and I thought they did fantastic for one of their first releases. It resembles Warcraft in a way but they pulled off the originality with a great plot and voicing. (Am I the only one who thought War's voice was great?) As for a tip when playing, never leave an area un-searched. Check dead ends in the opposite way of the objective and you'll find a couple chests.
awesome game but read the review
well the game is awesome the graphics are great sound is good well is there any thing wrong with this game.....O YES! well to start off the game i would not recommend to any religious people because the storyline is a war between the two worlds in the after life. i am religious but i didn't get offended by the game at all. Second the game is extremely violent but who doesn't love violent video games? i know i love them! Third if you are not a god of war fan you will probably not really like this game because the game is a little similar to the god of war series. Like i said before WHO doesn't like the god of war series?! also the farther you get into the game the more offended religious people would get and the more violent is gets. what i mean about violent is that you can grab some people by the head and crush their head...AWESOME!!! All in all the game is really good and i would recommend it to any one who is religious (who of course doesn't get offended by the game) and any other people who love the gore and the violence. Hoped this review helped some of you guys! bye!
Okay if you're bored
This game is okay. I don;t HATE it, but it's definitely pretty hack-n-slash. The puzzles and bosses are pretty lame. If you're looking for a better game along the lines of this one, Dante's Inferno was better. Although it has some of the same issues with the difficulty being toooo easy. A lot of games have been made in God of War's image, and I do understand it isn't fair to compare them to a game of that caliber, but that's the idea when something sets the standard for others to follow. CoD did it with wartime FPS, Mario did it with platform style games, Gran Turismo with realistic race games, etc.. And in my honest opinion I don't think the second GoW lived up to the expectations to the first. Some of the mechanics were gimicky and uninteresting, and the stpryline got a little stupid at points. So with that said, this game would get a 6.5, but I can't do that, so I am going to give the benefit of the doubt to those of you who will spend actual dollars on this game, and give it a 6.
One of my top three favorite games.
Gameplay: So first of all The gameplay was amazing in ways yet annoying in ways. Amazing enemies, awesome plot (yet always alittle confusing) and epic characters. but there was some not so awesome things. the SUPER LARGE amount of puzzles were fun until i was sitting on my couch til 3 in the morning redirecting blue beams. Graphics: Fantastic animation but lots of glitches and freezing. Sound: uhhhhh well it was amazing quality but the music was always depressing and didn't make me want to play anymore. Overall: the five chosen were all super easy to beat so it made the fighting not quite as fun. as I said the plot was epic but still confusing. So I loved the game and hope darksiders 2 has improvments and will be just if not more epic. just expect allis madness returns, zelda, god of war, and the holy bible all combined.
Great game with nice pacing.
Darksiders is a game with a lot of variety, from puzzle solving to mini arcade challenges darksiders has it all. Along with the variety comes some influences from other games the combat is like God of War and the puzzles and hub world remind me of The Legend of Zelda. Which doesn't make darksiders an original game, but with all of the fun your having it more than makes up for the tiny lack of innovation. The graphics are pretty good though there are now many games out there that surpass it, however in 2010 this game was one of the best looking games to come out that year. Gameplay holds up well and just about everthing in the game has aged beautifully. The sound while not being as catchy or original as The Legend of Zelda games can still hold its own against some of the big guns of the industry. So there you have it I'm not going to spoil much of the story because the ending is the best part and it really makes me want to just dive right in to the second game and cry that there might not be a third. Cheers.
When i first looked at the game and the back it looked like a world of warcraft game and it looked different so i was like what the heck ill give it a try.The first minute i started playing i was expecting like an arcade style game like ninja gaiden or something and im not a big fan of the games that have how many hits you have on the side and stuff but this game is amazing. The story is just wonderful its not confusing i understand whats going on and it is interesting. The controls may get confusing but i think they are pretty understandable. You have a decent amount of moves and enemies. The bosses are difficult but not extremely die hard where it takes you like 50 tries. The graphics and cutscenes are aweosme. The voice acting is beast and it makes me feel like im actually in it.Wow im running out of great adjectives to use...but overall it is an amzing game and i highly recomend this game..Also the story is lengthy to which makes it even better.Along with the amazing puzzles that makes the game more fun.
most under rated game of the year!
I picked up this game a couple days ago, and am sure it is going to be one of the most under-rated games of the year. Simple point, it is awesome! The best way I can describe it is Zelda meets God of War. The game play is challenging, and has a lot of depth. The story is something new (thank God) compared to many of the games that have come out lately which take you through the same story the last three you played did, only with different names and faces. There is just enough of the "KILL-EM' ALL" aspect to keep you satisfied decapitating your enemies with your hands or sword, and for those who live for the challenge, you will not be disappointed while trying to make your way to the enemy "boss" through the building they have chosen as their layer. All in all, this game is simply FUN to play, and will definitely be platinum my X-mas this year.
Best of Both Worlds
Ok, to start, the fact that I am taking my time to write this review makes it well worth the rent at least for anyone skeptical of picking it up. Anyway, when I first heard about this game I was looking forward to it and as time went on I continued to become more interested. When the day finally came to get this game, it was mine. Now, less than a week after the game has been released, I beat the game on the hardest difficulty and can say that anyone looking for a good challenge, this game does not disappoint. It takes aspects from both god of war and zelda, and for those of you who are "angry" about that; grow up. Two of the greatest games combined, what could go wrong? With that, this game is not perfect. Very small glitches that effect the overall experience very little, and as many have stated, the screen tearing is a little annoying. But that's the thing, it's not like you can change the screen tearing, just get used to it and you will learn to look right passed it and see the great game Darksiders truly is.
Its not that playing a horseman is a big experience, but there is really no backstory to this game. A beeping pops out when your health is low, (just like zelda) also the dungeon exploring is present too. Buttons appear over enemies heads telling you to finish them off, (god of war.) YOU EVEN HAVE THE PORTAL GUN!!! It feels like zelda, God of war, and portal teams were working on Darksiders together. All that aside the excitement of the adventure kept me entertained through solving riddles and the right weapon for a certain situation. Besides War (the main character,) it feels like you don't care about anyone else in the game or you don't even know their role for starters. The boss fights get really repetitive and are too easy to see their weak spots when defeating them. In conclusion, Darksiders is a great adventure, I did have a good time playing it, and the mention of those other games kind of adds to the fun. Who knows if there will be a sequel...
