This game is perfect for: hardcore gamers

This game is by far probably the harderst game I have ever played. The storyline is pretty cool, the graphics nice and the sound is decent. The only problem is that you die over and over again. Now dont get me wrong the game is fun, up until youve had enough. If you die you respawn at a campfire, but have to fight you way through all the enemies you had already beaten again which makes it frustrating. This isnt a hack n' slash type game, but more of a tactical swordplay with some ranged attacks. Overall you probably will spend more time dodging and blocking then actually attacking your opponet which in turn makes you think about your timing of strikes. In the end I gave up like so many others before me out of frustration of having to fight through the same enemies again and again after I died. Granted after dieing you learn something new about how to defeat your enemy, but still annoying. Id recommend this game for hardcore gamers and those of you whom are used to this style of gameplay, but for Fable and Zelda fans like me, youll probably trade it back in within a few days. Good luck to those who dare take this game on!

This game is perfect for: hardcore gamers

In my opinion Dark Souls is a game that targets the hardcore gamers that enjoy a challenge, a really tough challenge. It will probably take more time to get used to the controllers for a FPS gamer than to an RPG gamer. But, after getting used to the controller scheme you will have to read and learn you enemy's attacks and weakness. It can not be stressed enough that you will die, a lot! Dying in this game is a learning experience. The toughest way to finish the game is by yourself. There are a lot of weapons that build Dark Souls arsenal from swords to blades, to clubs, and more. The bosses are epic to say the least and the thrill you feel its awesome. Dark Souls is an enjoyable game once you get used to the mechanics. I love how the knights bow when they meet, it feels like a respectful community.

This game is perfect for: casual gamers

I was told by everyone this a hard game for only the hardcore gamers...No I found it way to easy, I could kill most in 1 to 2 hits? The hard part is trying to control your character, because who every program this didn't think that was important. I would say over 95% of the time I died because my character did not act fast enough, or at all, to what I was telling it to do.I have play 100's of games, this has got to be the hardest to control. Has for hard difficult, I found Fable harder : )

This game is perfect for: hardcore gamers

This game has got to be one of the best games i have ever played. The areas are beautiful with an absolutely stunning combat system. The leveling is not that difficult. However infuriating a boss fight might be just makes it that much more rewarding when you finally deplete their health bar. The game keeps going after you successfully finish off the final boss. This makes the game even more worth it. Worth every penny. I cant stress this enough. GET THIS GAME!

This game is perfect for: hardcore gamers

The game starts you out in a relatively easy starting zone to get you familiar with the movements and controlls (a Tutorial if you will but you WILL come back if you wanna progress further in the game). The game places you in a dark evil rage inducing flurry of motion and pain. (yes I say pain because you WILL die ALOT). This is NOT a casual game (unless your like me where it just becomes something to do and its extremely fun fighting insanely difficult enemy's and bosses) Dark souls will enduce the rage in most players and many if not most will rage quit before they finish the first playthrough (im on NG+ 13 right now) The leveling system is good because you use Souls {everything in this game} to level you up, to upgrade your gear, and to purchase consumables [arrows, anti poisons{moss}, humanity's, ect.] and a few other functions. Many people will give this a bad review if they say they are RPG players and blieve it. But they are wrong the game is good. Death actually means something in this game!!!!!! (it brings back old memory's of when you died and had to start over {REAL GAMING}) But at the same time the game gives you a chance to get your stuff back. The music of the game is alright its not as epic as the old final fantasy but its still pratty good. The graphics are great but its the scenery you really need to look at to be stunned. The controlls are relatively fluent and not to difficult to master. All the little kids that will instantly think dual wield is a good idea. PSCH think again you lose your most important thing ever BLOCK/PARRY. Each enemy is a new challenge in this game. you could be a level 1 pyromancer to a level 700+ Thief and still die to the same mob. Each class is not truly important as you will end up the same twards the end. Co op and pvp is good (even for you offline people there are npc that will pvp and co op npc's that will help you aswell). The game itself I give a 9 not a 10 but a solid 9.3 I will guarentee you if you are a TRUE RPG player and a HARDCORE gamer you WILL enjoy the real challenge Dark Souls gives you. You will enjoy the destructive attitude of the game and the demoralisation you get when you realise you need to heal but you know all the mobs around you will respawn if you do. The game has me on the edge of my seat at all times and sometimes wanting to throw my controller but remember if your going to play this you WILL rage after a while but continue to fight it out as the rewarding feeling of beating the bosses are great or getting that one peace of gear you REALLY want. But always remember there is something that will bring you back to reality (and you should every so often) thats call the power button use it before you break the game :P well I hope you find this review helpful - Peace out

Save yourself a lot of time and money, and do not buy this game. So far I have spent 7 hours and 53 minutes playing, and I'm only on the third town. This game is as hard as everyone says it is, but not rewarding AT ALL. The bosses look cool, but boss battles are long, repetitive, and not a fun time in the slightest. Its a game where you will not get anywhere unless you farm for souls for hours, and if you have a life like me, that's just something you'd rather not do. I have 69k Gamerscore, I'm somebody that has played most RPGs on the XBOX 360 platform, and I can honestly say that this is the worst RPG I've ever played. I have so much hate in my heart because of this one game. Don't end up like me, please. Just stick with Fable, Skyrim, and Fallout. Don't listen to these reviews that say it's the most amazing game ever. It's not rewarding, it's boring and repetitive, the live is mediocre, and you will break your controllers. What a waste of a weekend.
