What a Disappointment!!!!!
First off I don't even understand how the games got such a good rating. Controls are sad to say the least the character walks slower than any other game I've ever played and his running is as fast as walking in a most games, and runs out in 7 seconds and take a while to recharge, he can only hold 1 weapon at a time (LAME) and his health is so sad he can be killed in only 3 hits (pathetic). Graphics are the quality of the original x box and the game its self was so boring I couldn't even continue to play after a 1/3 way through it (and I usually pride myself on being the type who finishes all games completely). Take some advice and don't bother this game isn't even worth buying at used price it's a pathetic excuse for a video game smh.

Aged Quite Well
Despite being about six years old, Criminal Origins is a very good, effective horror game. It's not all about action as the most recent horror games have been and it's not quite as psychological as older games were.
The controls are slow but I feel it adds to the atmosphere of the game. The story dragged a bit and the voice acting and characters could have been better. Weapons were decent with a few firearms and an abundance of melee objects. Difficulty wasn't a problem as there were health kits every few rooms, but there were some annoying sections where death was easy.
Seeing as how it's not quite a balance between gore and psych, there are parts of the game that try way too hard to be scary. Especially one section towards the end.
And while I do like it, I have no desire to 100% the achievements. Not something I'll replay anytime soon.

Good game, but easy to beat
I bought this game and a week later I was finished. Took me another 4 days to get all achievements. Not a lot of sound and too much talking. I did enjoy the game though.

Amazing game, but flawed
I bought this game to day for free by using a powerup rewards coupon, mainly due to the fact that i have had my 360 for going on 7 years now, and still never played this one. and wow was i surprised. this game if FULL of atmosphere. it makes you feel helpless, and the way the enemies jump out of nowhere reminded me of Dead Space, though Dead Space made me almost s--- in my pants, this one just gave me several near heart attacks. This may be an awesome game, but with the VERY loose and wierdly operating control scheme (having to hold down the left stick while pushing forward to sprint) makes this hard to recommend to people. I would however, because this game is intense. I am not going to knock on the graphics much, because it is from 2005, and they are dated, but with the BGM being full of quiet and eerie sounds, and the fact you can hear Ethan breathing heavy at times, makes up for the flaws in my eyes. A well made game, that everyone has to at least experience to know what they are missing

I REALLY tried to like this game.... :(
I've read some really good reviews for this game.... supposed to be a fun melee-based horror game. I believe I picked it up for maybe 5-8 bucks a few months ago..... I really tried to focus on all of the "fun elements" that I had read about. I will grant that the atmosphere was kinda creepy. Not Dead Space "Gee Willikers I need to change pants" scary, but creepy nonetheless. My major issues were the actual gameplay: I admittedly couldn't make it through the whole game but the chunk of the game that I DID make it through was about 95% melee combat with the 5% gunplay was done with guns with 3 or 4 bullets in the clip and no extra ammo to be found. This would be fine if the melee combat was enjoyable but I found it to be rather bland and basic. Dead Island managed to get the melee-based-combat thing just about perfectly. From what I've heard Skyrim also is supposed to have gotten the formula right, (Haven't played it yet so withhold your torches and pitchforks please, just what I've heard.) however Condemned just didn't do it for me. Apparently a LOT of people like this game and for the $5 that it is currently going for it wouldn't be a huge risk to take in the event that you DIDN'T like it, I just wanted to throw in my two cents since just about every review I read seemed to praise the elements of the game that I found issue with. I'd point you in the direction of Dead Island or Dead Space or even some of the older-school Silent Hill games (haven't played the newer ones) if you want a good, tense atmospheric game. However 5 bucks isn't a huge loss if you do take a flyer on Condemned.

Best Horror Game Ever
This game is SO great. The graphics are insane and the atmosphere is amazingly horrifying. The background music pulls you in. It feels like you're really going through old-dark abandoned buildings, and the presence of drug addicts and twisted psychos lurking in the shadows will make you want to turn your television off. I've played this many times and I still get the chills.

The Greatest Horror Game Ever!
Why this series of games isn't a huge franchise like Call of Duty, I don't know. What I do know is that it is the greatest horror game to ever be released for the Xbox 360 console. If they made this game for PS3 I would definately buy it. It's the first game I ever bought for my Xbox 360 (when I owned one, sorry microsoft/Bill Gates) and to this day (almost 4 years later) I sometimes ask myself why I sold my 360. This game is literally the only reason I bought one to begin with. It is awesome. You will definately do one of the following while playing this game 1) urinate in your trousers 2) have a bowl movement in your trousers 3) Drool all over yourself (or others) 4) Shake in fear 5) [Almost] have a heart attack 6) Turn off your 360 'cause your a wussy. (JK guys, I did it too.) Trust me, Buy It!

One of the scariest games you can play
As a horror game fan i was a bit excited for condemned to come out. A first person horror game where guns were rare and lead pipes and the such were the common weapon types. I was expecting an intense game. The game definetly delivered on the intensity. The story is great for a game like this. You're a cop chasing down a twisted mass murderer. Walking through one of the handful of creepy environments with nothing but a lead pipe or one of the many other melee weapons in the game is intense and often times just down right frightening. The combat system is simple but works and is fun. It mainly boils down to blocking and then striking while your opponent is dazed but the fights are fun and intense especially when there are multiple enemies. It then becomes unpredictable when you make another enemy hit another and they begin fighting each other. The game is short, however. And, even though the game doesn't look bad it deffinetly isn't a visually strong game. It is one of the early games of the xbox 360. I don't get scared easily in videogames, but the last few levels of this game made me turn on the lights and contemplate waiting until morning to play. I wouldn't recommend this game to everyone but if your a survival horror fan then I would definetly give this game a look. Especially considering the price.

A little scary.
The concept of this game is interesting and it can be quite scary at times. I like the story line and plot but it leaves much to be desired. The weapons are limited and it leaves you not knowing what to do at times.
