Rated 10 out of 10 by The Disturbed Spartan Some awesome gameplay online and off
I bought this game a couple of years ago and beat it's campaign it was some really solid gameplay. then I got Xbox Live a couple of weeks ago, saw this game and wondered, is anyone playing this? The answer was overwhelmingly yes! Pick a nation to fight in the Neromis War or just play free battle either way this game is worth the wait, ******? Awesome if you ask me and the graphics rival that of newer games and guess what this game was a launch title! Here's a few tips for beginners, because I got massacred the first time i got on, never have the cockpit in the open, hide it with spacers guns whatever you have if it's in the open you won't last long. Pick a country to what style you play, Tarakia for well-balanced well mobile hounds, Morskoj for powerful but slow base and hound killers, and Sal Kar for fast well armed scouts and snipers (the best sniper rifle is in Morkoj though) I defiently recommend this game as an awesome bargain get it now!

What to say of a game like this? For starters, this game is horrible for anyone to play. I'm pretty sure a toddler at the age of 4 or 5 will have more fun with this game than the average gamer. The story mode is far too slow for anyone to move on further unless you want your brains to bleed out over the boredom and slow pace quality. The story mode is just a way to prepare the players for online mode. The online mode is the only thing this game has to offer. Yet, unfortunately the online mode has been shut down and there are no more understandable reasons to get this game. If this was 2008, then this game would have been an amazing online game to play. Yet we all now live in 2011 and this game has nothing to offer anymore. Please don't buy this game because it's truly not worth any amount of money. If I were you, try spending that money on some downloadable content for another game. I'm pretty sure you will have more fun playing that instead.

As far as it goes, robot based games are never really that different from each other but the other day i purchased chrome hounds and was surprised at the quality of game you get for ** dollars. It has around 40 missions for single player, (although the story is somewhat boring i.m.o), and all the parts that you earn for yourself in single player can be transfered over to multi-player along with any exp. you earned for a certain class. The multi-player is where the game shines, there is a lot to it for example: you make a squad with your buddy's and can trade various things to each other, after you are done setting up and ready to roll ( not to mention the fully customizable mech section of the game ), there is a lot you can do once you are on the battlefield. Each person selects his or her role by customizing the mech a certain way such as if you are using all heavy stuff you are going to be staying in the back shooting from afar while the lighter mechs go scout ahead and feed you intell . Overall it is a great buy and one of the few robot games i have enjoyed.

Chromehounds is a great game. The online is so good that I have been playing as much as I can for a year now. The flip side is that the story mode is crummy (just a primer/trainer for the multi player). The customization is incredible, I have been making awesome HOUNDs with my squad mates for a while. The squad based warfare is set up well but to beat actual humans it takes two things: 1 being good at the game and 2, maybe even more important, knowing how to design the HOUNDs. Aside from the weak single player the game stacks up well. It also helps that it is the only descent mech game on the 360. The squad element of online does make or break the game, I have been fortunate enough to have a great squad, there are crummy ones out there though so choose wisely. Over all this is a great game with a few flaws.

The game Chrome Hounds was an ok, but very confusing game. The controls are confusing if you are use to playing 1st person shooter games. What was also confusing about the game is the map. There was all these different grids with letter and number names and all that. Also, during the missions, you would have to find an enemy and destroy it. You are in the middle of a setting with confusing maps and lots of hills. The graphics are pretty good except for the grass which was some pine color. Your robot was well designed. The only problem was that you couldn't run. You would always walk kind of slowly. The weapons that were built in the robot were pretty good. However, I thought that a couple of the weapons could of been improved a bit more. With this game, I just wish that is was multiplayer on local.
Rated 10 out of 10 by Gamefreak7 A must have for any mech fan.
I have played chromehounds from day one of its release. It's a great online game, but the story mode is by far the worst. I would suggest playing the first couple missions so that you can get use to the game, but then I would highly suggest stopping. It's just not worth it. As I said before though the game is awesome online. I would highly suggest it to any mech fans. To really get into the game you need to have friends to play with and share designs with so join a squad as soon as you can. Also don't be afraid to fool around with different designs, it's really what makes chromehounds so much fun. Be careful though because many people can copy your design just by seeing it once. I hate running into my hounds on the battle field! Well, I hope you get the game and I see you out there.

I bought Chrome hounds about a week ago, and it is awesome. One, because its a mech game! And I love all the customizable things you can do(I'm pretty sure you won't find two same hounds). Also, the online is incredible. I have to admit, it was a bit of a challenge at times, but what game isn't? If you are a fan of Armored Core, you will definitely like Chrome hounds. Awesome guns, cool armor. This game has it all. The only down side is that each mission is maybe 3-7 minutes long. But it redeems itself with 35 missions! Another thing is the menu. When you press Start, all you see is the "unpause" option, which is fairly annoying. But in all fairness, this game is awesome. I would definitely recommend this to AC/Mech fans, and to people who are new to the 360.
Rated 10 out of 10 by theBREH i miss this game
this game was one of my favorite at one time, when the online was up and the game was fairly new, i put a great deal of time in the online play. the number of part and ways you could create a hound was just about unlimited, the graphics were greate as well. i wish they would have made a second one with more parts and weapons. but they never did. this game should not be played now. people that play this game with out online play, should not give reviews. again the online play is what made this game. so please done judge it with out this experience in mind. with out the online part of this game, i doesnt have much to offer anymore. most of the good part/weapons in the game were online.

I loved this Mech game ever so dearly during its early up bringing. I loved the mechanics and the construction of the mechs as well as its weapon systems. The only downfall I have is the server shutdown. The online gameplay was indeed the core and heart of the games design. I would like to reply the main campaign as a more tutorial aspect then most of the previous mech games released. Although it is slow it really gives you the funtimentals and preparations for Live. But as mentioned earlier the server was shutdown and is no longer active I'm afraid to admit. And since it is no longer active the only worth while stage to play is the Final Mission otherwise the game is useless overall :(
Rated 10 out of 10 by Severity Wonderful, until they shut down the servers.
The only bad things I have to say about this game are: 1) the single-player story. It was pretty miserable, but it did exactly what it was made to do; get you ready for online and; 2) they shut down the online servers, leaving you nothing but the lackluster story to play, and that has absolutely NO replay value. On with the good parts! The mech-building system was easy to use, but very complex. It took time to put a good mech together, but it was well worth it when you reached the final product. The squad mechanics online made it tactical, fun, and gave it a feeling like you were really in the battle. There was an incredible amount of weaponry and other parts you could use, as well as camo and emblem layers. It was literally such that you would NEVER see another mech that was exactly the same as yours. The wars had length, but were never too long or too short. Being able to knock out (and assume control of) the other countries was intense. You could also cast votes for the presidents of your countries, adding an entirely new level of depth to the war and giving you the opportunity to change how the entire war plays out (better funding for researching parts, emphasizing attack or defense, ties with other countries, etc). Easily the best game I've ever played on my 360, but I would no longer recommend it with the lack of online play.
