Call of Duty: Ghosts
Call of Mediocrity
A little info about me before you read my review, I'm a 20 year old gamer who thoroughly enjoys playing video games. If you want a review of this in one sentence, buy something else.
If you are able to read the full review, I HIGHLY advise doing so:
Honestly, I like the Call of Duty Series. I'll admit that I didn't buy the first few, but I jumped in to Modern Warfare 2 (MW2) and immediately loved the game. While we all can admit that Modern Warfare 3 (MW3) wasn't as great, this game seems so far from that fun loving atmosphere that MW2 gave us. Don't get me wrong, Call of Duty Ghost is decent, but the replay value of this game is very disappointing.
The story was alright, but (without spoiling it) the ending sent the message of "Get ready to spend another $60 on the sequel in two years" when really the story wasn't that good to begin with.
The new modes of extinction and squads are probably the highlight of this game. To give you an idea, the only reason I gave the game a 3 rating rather than a 1 or 2 is because of this mode. As an avid survive the horde gamer, I had a great time thinking that this would be the weakest part of the game when in fact it is the strongest. However, like any of the other Call of Duty survival modes (zombies and such) eventually it becomes repetition, repetition, repetition.
Finally, let's have a long talk about the multiplayer mode. I'm no pro, trust me my kill death ratio is about 0.7, but this was just frustrating. While Modern Warfare 3's spawns were pretty bad, this takes it to a whole new level. I have never seen myself spawn, die, respawn, and die again in the same 5 second killcam so many times. The other thing that really bothered me was the complexity of the class systems. While this new scheme was meant to give gamers more options, more doesn't necessarily mean better. Call me old school, but I liked being able to have only 3 perks for my class system; however, I didn't mind MW3's system of the specialist killstreak. I don't need 20,000 possible options on just perks alone. AGAIN, MORE DOESN'T MEAN BETTER. Plus, the killstreaks are very lack lust; the only good one being the guard dog.
Call of Duty Ghosts had so much potential to create a great game. I would like to say that it's just another rendition of the same game, but I feel like that would be insulating because I actually enjoyed playing the other games. I'm highly considering trading in this game, which doesn't happen very often. If you are looking for a different game to buy, I would suggest either Modern Warfare 2 or Modern Warfare 3. Also, Borderlands 2 Game of the Year Edition is a way better buy for $60. Do yourself a favor Call of Duty and wait on producing the next game. Just because you can produce a game every year doesn't mean you should. I would rather wait 5 years for a great game then getting a progressively mediocre game every year.
Compared to the others...
Call of duty Ghosts, well Ghosts in my opinion is very strong campaign wise, but falls a bit short in multiplayer, where it turns more into a rage-filled fury rather than a hardcore competition. (this may be that i just suck at the game) but... overall i thing they did a good job.
this game is great, I like it alot there you can do so much!.
I would recommned this game for every body
The campaign is great. The only flaw is that it doesn't keep my attention anymore. Overall it is a good game.
Don't spend money on COD Failures
Best advice, don't be fooled by the hype and make the mistake of purchasing this game. Campaign was ok, with no memorable moments. Yes some cool scenes, but nothing that makes me want to replay it or even watch it again. Multiplayer has actually gotten worse since MW3. "Search and Rescue" is terrible. Why let me leave tags behind for teammates who won't even pick them up? "Blitz" has to be the worst game mode ever thought of. If you thought capture the flag was awful, then Blitz will make you want to blow your brains out. It's almost like the game comes with built-in lag. The only reason I even consider putting the game in the disc tray is for extinction mode, and even that is a pretty big let down. It's a little challenging with friends, but solo, its way too easy. A big step backward for COD improvement
Worst game ever!!!!! do not get this game!TERRIBLE
THIS GAME IS THE WORST GAME EVER. MY ADVICE TO YOU IS TO USE YOUR MONEY AND BUY GTA5 OR SOMETHING OTHER THAN THIS GAME BECAUSE U WILL REGRET GETTING THIS GAME.
so i preordered the game had it a month a the game was just bad i dont know why i kept it so long i heard its good on ps4 but i wont know cuz im not going to buy the game again im going back to black ops 2 that game is still amazing and has everything going for it call of duty ghost was a huge let down and everyone knows that thats all you hear when u look the game up on the web n see what people had to say about it ill wait to 2014 to buy a other cod game cuz its from the makers of black ops 2 cuz they know how to make a good game thats worth the money
it feels too old.
the game feels too old, but It is not like old CODS like mw2 and cod4. But the Graphics engine and sound effects are so bad that its worse than most of the games you can buy today, even other cods like BO2. The pace is too bad that you can run around the map for 7 minutes and not find a kill, but i get killed 6 times in the process. The campaign was also below mediocre and the extinction mode feels fresh but gets old fast, because it only has one mission.
Terrible game. Multiplayer is 1 out of 10
Whatever Activision and Infinity Ward is doing is only killing the franchise. The worst multiplayer ever developed. Besides glitches and a terrible lag on the kill box the levels offer no straight forward game play. No actual barriers exist in the game and you can catch another player through any "solid" surface in the game. Level designs are quite terrible and offer no safe spawn zones. The is the worst in the franchise and only seems to have been going downhill since modern warefare one and treyarchs first black ops. It seems in the name of making money the company is quite willing to offer an unfinished product of substandard quality and expects you to pay more money for more that ten multiplayer levels. The story in the campaigne is the same old style of one invincible playable character who nearly dies from a fatal wound in every other level only to magically recover and then sets up for yet another game, probably also to be substandard as the trend has shown.
Straight to the point
Its not very good. I wouldnt buy it. The only thing I recommend buying it for is Extinction. Thats all I really bought it for.
