When I played my first cabela's title back in the late 90's on PC, i wasn't too impressed with the idea of sitting in a tree stand all day waiting for a buck to happen by (which they always did). It got old really fast. Cabela's 2012 on the other hand is quite the contrast. There is an actual story (although nothing too exotic), and the game is extremely linear in guiding you through it. A little too linear if you ask me. I like to have options, and this game doesn't give you much except for the guided tour of the world's big game targets. Gameplay is solid, you have the ability to slow time (by holding your breath), upgradeable weapons and a rewarding credits system (more points for completing challenges according to a given task). Sounds were quite good, from the blast of the guns firing to the use of the crossbow. Graphics were good enough for me, but i've never really been too big on them for any of my reviews. overall, its a fun game. Too bad it only lasts a good 2 -3 hour play through. Great for a weekend rental.

My parents don't hunt, I have never gone hunting in my life, but I do hunt on video games. I have the majority of Cabela's games on available on Xbox 360 and I won't stop now, I know that Cabela's games aren't Activision's top priority, but I am happy that they continue to creat them and keep the prices so low, I would expect to get this game at the regular price of a Xbox 360 game: $49.99. I would buy it if it were at the price of the super high graphics, best-selling games, $59.99. But nope, this is at the low price of $39.99. Awesome! I am a little upset that Activision doesn't think this game will sell if at a higher price, but I am also happy because now I can get it for such a small price! And I forgot to check the release date before I started this review, but I will laugh if it has the same release date as Halo 4. I think almost every Halo game since Halo 3 has been released on the same day as a Cabela's game. But I'll get both either way!

I got this game for christmas last year and couldnt wait to play it. sadly i beat the game the very same day before lunch. really really easy. the good part is the gameplay is very fun and somewhat realistic. i have continued to play it and beat it 5 or 6 times its just that fun. the only thing i wish they would have had is the free hunt like in the original big game hunter. Still a fun game though.

I personally loved Cabela's Big Game Hunter 2010 on the XBox 360. It was fun, realistic hunting action. Last year, they made Cabela's Dangerous Hunts 2011, which was not a bad game, but it was different. A survival based hunting game. This is going back to the realistic, high scoring action. Thank god. I cannot wait to pick this game up, and at only 40 bucks new, this game will be a steal!

make another dangerous hunts game and not a big game hunter they need to make it like the original dangerous hunts game with a good story mode like dangerous hunts 2 and with really good graphics and then and only then will they have a good hunting game since the first two cabelas dangerous hunts.
