Cabela's Big Game Hunter 2010
ok, so i decided to try a hunting game for once and im glad i found this game.so lets get to the basics: GRAPHICS:the graphics really bring the outdoors to your t.v. and are very nice and realistic. this is no crap from 2005. CONTROLS:the controls are just like the average shooter. they are the same as like cod or any other shooter. you can steady the gun and hold your breath when you shoot. STORYLINE: so your some guy trying to get into a hunting club or whatever and you have to beat the challenges to get in. GAMEPLAY:you boss person tells you what animals to hunt and you go find them. there is some really fun minigames like shooting rabbits and birds and aiming is a real challenge if you want a gold medal on every mission. so overall this is an awesome game and you should consider getting it if you like shooting, sports, or outdoor games.
Stop what you're doing and get this game
This is hands down the most incredible game I have ever laid my hands on. The physics, the graphics, the guns, the animals, the Hunting!!!Everyone should own this game. I am going to get all of the cool trophy animals that are available. it is just a shame that you can not eat the venecin that you get in the game because it looks really good too. How about a digital smoker so we could roast the animal carcasses after we hunt em. Being that I live in the big city; it is such a nice change of pace to just come home and curl up in front of the fire with this awesome game. I can sit back, relax and forget all my troubles as I hunt down the magnificent beasts that are in this game. there is something that is very cathartic about hunting these majectic beasts. I hope that I will be able to hunt and kill these digital creations for many many years to come. Thanks a million Cabella keep em' comin.....
What a great game
This game is much better then anyother hunting game that i have played.I downloaded the demo to try it out and i thought it would be one of those get bored quick games like all the other hunting games. But whenever the game played the intro it caught my attention. When your hunting your first animal it shows you just how good the can be. Just like all the other hunting games theres a challenge and the first one is that you have to cross a narrow log. I thought this was going to be very easy. But it does have sort of a challenge to it and its not as easy as you think. In the demo you hunt several animals and play 2 mini games. At the end of the demo you find out your not the only one hunting in the woods and you meet something that wants to kill you to. For those who think its gonnna be a easy boring game download the demo and find out for yourself that its not.
I Can't Wait for the "Game Of The Year Edition!"
There are certain times in one's life where the words of another's passionately written novel moves you, or a song that describes, oh, so perfectly, the way you feel that precise moment. I just want to thank Antois for being the bearer of such wealth. When I read his headline, I listened, I knew, I felt the urgency in his tone. And for that I want to thank you, Antonis. I just rife-butted a bear in the face! Picture what it would be like to walk around the woods with a gun, and that is what this game is.The foliage is vastly superior to real life, and the recoil of the guns reverberates in my hands. There has been news recently regarding the delay of some pretty hefty titles in the video game world. That is because they would be crushed by the weight and depth that is Big Game Hunter. Don't fool yourselves, this game is riddled with suspense and action. Buy this game!
Great graphics, but poor gameplay
Okay, so lets start out with the good things. The Graphics are the best I've seen in a hunting game and the animal AI is fairly good. The camera angles are very good, rarely do you have an obscured view of your target because of poor angles. There are a lot of great places to hunt and the variety of game that you hunt is awesome. This is where it ends though. If you like shooter games then this is a good game, but this is not a hunting game. Is all you do is follow the lit up trail to your pray and pick which one to shoot for maximum points. You carry 4 different types of guns (light rifle, heavy rifle, shotgun, and pistol) You should only get 1 gun to carry. In previous hunting games I've played you could customize your scope and rifle combo for the game you were hunting, which is much more realistic. Here there is no customizing your gun. The scope view shows the vital organs of the prey, again it's neat but takes all the fun out of "hunting". If you are fairly decent at shooter games you can drop your prey instantly every time so there is no tracking down the animal. You don't get the choose what type of animal you want to hunt, and the hunts are very short for each animal. The linear style game play is horrible for a hunting platform. It's makes for more action, but it is very corny and gets boring very fast.I only played it for about 2 hours and i'm already bored with it.
Much More Potential
My first hunting game for the Xbox 360 and i expected a little more. Eye-opening graphics and at first an amazing game play, but the missions get repetitive. Hunt by hunt I was just thrown on a trail and within about 100 yards is the heard. After I beat the game once, I never found a reason to go back and play it. Most of the sounds in the game feel like they really come from nature, but there are times when it almost appears there were flaws in the production of the sound. A number of people could enjoy this game for a little bit, but do not expect it to be like the hunting games on older platforms.
Better than what most people would think.
Better than what most people would think. The reason why I said that is because if any one has played these games in the past you will get kind of bored real quick or the animals arent moving and behaving like real animals would. Well this hunting game i went in it with the same thought and i said to myself one night cause i seen that the demo was out. So i said i might as well try that demo out just for giggles you know. So i download it an start playing and from the first animal you have to hunt it starts to draw you in. So then i say ok well let me play a little more then i get to this one part where i have to cross a log an a river is under me while im walking on the log. Before i start walking i say this is going to be a peice of cake. So i start to walking and its a bit tricky but u have to hold your balance realy well or you will fall in. The other thing i relly like about this game is not just the graphics etc. and all those things that people usually put. But i jus love the challange that this game brings cause its hard geting a gold medal on every animal not to mention some animals i havn't gotten any medals you know but it feels really good killing your game that you are hunting and you jus feel like a real hunter. Ne way this game is great if you dont believe me download it and write a review about what you thought about it. Cause i don't usually write reviews or play hunting games but i had to give this game justice by writeing a review on it. Ne way Grace and Peace.
Call of Duty, but with Animals... Well, not Really
I do not hunt, nor will I ever. I think hunting is just straight down wrong. But hunting in a videogame is fine by me! Why you may ask. Well think about this: Killing people is wrong, yet almost everyone on this planet plays Call of Duty. Exactly. Anyways, ON WITH THE REVIEW: The graphics in this game blew me away. When playing this game, I felt like I was really in the wild hunting. It looks so realistic. The gameplay is great. Now you cannot just run wherever you want. There is a mapped course in which you walk forward until you reach the next hunt. Do not worry though! The mapped area is so open it will feel like you can walk almost anywhere. When you approach your prey, there will usually be around 2-8 of that type. Shooting a female makes you restart that hunt (real hunting rules), and some of the bigger types of the animals are worth more points. Depending on your animal, oyur distance, your gun, and your position (finding bonus point areas give you more points, these areas are usually behind cover, like a bush or rock). More points gives you medals. Getting gold medals on each hunt gives you a gold medal for that area, which gives you achievments. The hunting is pretty realistic. I'm not saying it is the perfect experience, but it is real enough and is very fun. The game also has a bonus gallery mode, which is pretty pointless. It is an arcade shooter... not very fun... no achievments or awards for the gallery mode. So with all of these problems, what is my one, BIG drawback. That is the amount of content and game leangth. Your geting a pretty long carreer mode: 12 levels with 4-8 hunts each. I think there are 68 hunts overall. Plus trying to get every gold medal and every achievment is VERY entertaining. But once you have done all of that (which may take you a while), that is pretty much it. PROS: Very fun gameplay, pretty realistic, amazing graphics, leangthy carreer mode, gold medal gaining is fun, great achievment system. CONS: Lame shooting gallery, not much content after beating the carreer, no online. CONCLUSION: I definetly recommend this game, and it is a steal for 20 bucks. I was going to give this game an 8 because of the small amount of content and lack of online. But since it is just 20 bucks, you are getting more then what you paid for.
First off let me say that the graphics are amazing i felt like i was in the woods for real. Then the hunt started and i liked the hunter sense in a way but it kinda made it too easy.the animals acted as a real animal will, but the hardest thing in the demo was the mountian lion it took some to get it down but once you do its worth it. pricing this game at 20 dollars is like selling modern warfare 2 for 5 dollars
What happened to Big Game Hunter
This is by far the worst Big Game Hunter yet. The game play is controled. What ever happened to the freedom to wander around the maps choosing our own paths? Where are the vehicles? The mini games suck. Cabela's Big Game Hunter 2010 sets an all time low for this franchise. Give us back our freedom to choose how we hunt the animals! Way to drop the ball Cabela's! Save your money, this game is crap. It seems that this game is really nothing more than an advetising ploy for Remington firearms. While Remington does make some fine rifles, we are stuck using the model that they choose to advertise. I mean come on a 223 for deer? They should have at least used a 243 Remington pump. I could go on and on about how bad this game truely sucks. Avoid this game like the Plague!
