Bound By Flame
A decent RPG similar to the Witcher 2 and Fable.
So i bought this game to hold me over till something great comes out, and the game delivers on that aspect Its combat system is like that of the witcher but dumbed down although and can be just as unforgiving if you think you can just barrel through everyone. It requires less item prepartion before combat but more battle strategy. Now it gives you access to 3 classes throughout the game but is alot easier to play if you pick one of the combat classes and the magic one. Leveling, crafting, and choosing feats are all quite simlple. You really just pick what you use. The story is more of a mature fable game. It does a good job of making you feel important to whats going on in the world. I see myself only going through this game twice though to see if theres a difference from accepting the demon than rejecting it.The game world does try to be appealing including terrain as swamp\forest areas to frozen cities but not to the level of its idol The Witcher. Point is it fullfills its purpose of being entertaining enough to play it till the end but probably wont make it to game of the year.
... Failed execution. Same with bug, I'm about 5 maybe 8 hours in. Normally I would not write a review this early into a game, but I wanted to so potential buyers are aware. -pros- story thus far is good. Interesting. Enjoyable. Despite 720p, graphics are actually pretty solid. Voices... Some characters just make you laugh, but the dialogue while vulgar at times, pretty realistic to how people would be at the end of days I'm sure ha ha. Customization is in depth, skill trees, perks, items, et-cetera. A lot of the game seems good thus far... That said, pay attention here; -cons- Combat mechanics, bad. When you press the button, there is latency issues. Also, it remembers your presses, so it will carry out those actions even if you try to change what you're doing... Also, 5 - 10 hits and you're dead. Not terrible, but when you're constantly fighting 4+ enemies at a time, you will lose. And lose again. And again. It tried to be like Witcher, with the stances, but failed with the switch time. Also, if you get knocked down... Game over. As a veteran rpger, I have played them all. I would say ONLY get this game if you a are hard up for a rpg. Otherwise, borrow it or wait until pre owned. Hate to say it, but the combat is enough to not want to complete the game, much less play through multiple times for the cheevos.
Not a bad RPG
I am about 5 hours into this game the idea behind the game is good. One of the things I most dislike about it is the voice acting and some of the dialog. Fighting is not to bad even though every time I think I know how I want to play I.E. warrior or rogue I quickly find out it best to switch between them as you are fighting, and you can switch between those 2 fighting stances on the fly. Crafting and upgrading is easy but I wish I had more opportunity to make more health potions. This game will at least keep me entertained until some of my other preorder games come in.
looks like a great rpg
I have seen some clips of this game and it looks like it will be a good game. Looking forward to the release since it has been a while since the last great RPG game was released.
Plays okay. Voice acting: average to below average. Script: Apparently written by a twelve year old still impressed with "bad-words". The game is fine, really. I just couldn't stand the immature story and script. Stupid things like names that were created by someone who watched too many He-Man episodes as a child. Dialog went no-where on several occasions. Literally boring to the point of sleep. Maybe it was a good idea... but too many mistakes were made to take this thing seriously. Programming, and art direction was great. Hats off to those guys. Story, Direction, acting, scripting was so far below par... it was really more of a joke.If there isn't anything else to buy in the store... I guess get it. Otherwise I can't see a recommendation here.
Do not buy this game!
I cant finish this game because a glitch in Act 2 Chapter 1 is preventing me from moving forward in the story!
Reminds me of FFVII
Been waiting a very long time for something like this. Looks great, hope it plays that well. Looks like a game I won't want to put down for a long time.
This game looks like a 3 or 4 year old game graphically. There is no replayability unless you just want to listen to all of the different NPC dialogue. The loot collection is non existent. The skill trees are just used to unlock better moves and don't really lend any character building to the game. You basically pick one of three trees and max out every move in that tree. Aside from that it's just an action game.
