Rated 3 out of 10 by Zander115 a dissappointment
I was expecting a lot much more from this game and it let me down. I knew it wasn’t the next cod4 or h3 but I still thought it might be a good break from my addiction of cod4 and h3. I played the demos that are on the marketplace and I thought that this game had potential to be fun. The demos showed were an early make of a couple of the single player missions and I thought that they were good enough to make me buy it. I genuinely enjoyed playing this game for about the first 5 minutes (about how long I played each demo) but I got sick of it after that and I haven’t played it after beating it once. The multiplayer is impossible to find a match online (probably because everyone with half a brain is playing cod4 or h3) and when you do get a match; the lag is so unbearable that it makes you want to punch a baby. If you don’t believe me and you still want to play this game, and then please rent it before you buy it. Don’t make the same mistake that I did and just buy it after playing the demos.

Just downloaded the demo like a lot of previewers here and it met my expectations. The graphics are good with great effects. The sound left a little to be desired, specifically the guns from both sides sounded extremely weak and muffled. For some reason the aliens look like they came out of Fall of Man for the PS3. But what really bothered me about the demo is the spotty framerate. When it was just your squad, the game ran buttery smooth. However, when even 1-2 enemies came on screen the framerate dropped dramatically. The good news is that this is game still has a lot of development time left and all these issues should be fixed. I really digged the feel of the game though. A war torn small American town with aliens blasting through it! The other thing I want to mention is that after playing Rainbow Six, the command system and lack of a cover system really felt archaic. To leave this preview on a good note, the destructable environments did rock!

Blacksite: Area 51 was a decent xbox 360 title. The graphics were similar to those of Gears of War, but not quite as good. About the gameplay; imagine something like Call of Duty 4 and Halo 3 having inbred child game. INBRED. This would result in some really weird gameplay, pretty bad dialogue, MISERABLE controls, and some pretty stupid AI. The game claims to be squad based... It comes off like the character you are commanding has the intelligence of a two year old that has been beaten over the head and thrown into a closet for 4 days. The story line was pretty lame too... The game was somewhat challenging seeing as I was playing it on the hardest difficulty, but it's a pretty short game. Not to mention that I almost always got the squad command button and the grenade button confused constantly. I regret buying this game, due to its absolute mediocrity, but it is a perfect title if you are looking to rent a game..
Rated 1 out of 10 by MaranRolta Wow, what a terrible game!
This game is not very good, let me start with that. It deceives you at first by having a Star Wars quote and shooting terrorists, but after that it fails. The story is bland at best. After the first level, it just stops being fun. Game play isn't much better. For a squad based game, you'll find yourself doing almost all the work. Well, except for opening doors, which your character is unable to do on his own. This makes the game worse because if your team is down, you're stuck, which in this game means you're dead, and have to start from the last save point and listen to all the dull dialogue over again. The game isn't even that hard. You'll be able to blow through it quickly, unless you come to a doorway, that is. The enemies are just ridiculous. The graphics are fairly good and sound quality isn't bad, and you DO get to shoot things, so not all is lost. But most of it is. Better off picking up GRAW, GoW, or CoD.

A huge flop when it was first released, Blacksite: Area 51 is nevertheless a fun game, if an uninspired one. Given the fact that you can get it for less than a cup of Starbucks these days, you are definitely getting a deal. The set-up is basically, 'What if the X-Files was an action movie?' The player controls a soldier, first in Iraq and later in New Mexico, as they become enmeshed in a military conspiracy involving alien technology that was discovered in the desert, fighting off enemy soldiers and extraterrestrial monsters along the way. As a shooter, it is fun, particularly in the later sections when the fighting moves to contemporary suburbs, a nice, off-beat touch. The controls are fluid and the levels are well-designed. The main gameplay annoyance -- and it is a quibble -- is that most of the time the player cannot open doors themselves. They must rely on the AI-controlled NPC companions to do this. The bigger problem is that story-wise this is a pretty muddled, confusing affair. Even after the big plot reveals towards the end, the player is still likely to be confused as to what is going on -- or why they should care. The game also has a notable bug: When opponents are killed their guns do not drop to the ground but rather hover in the air near where their owners were killed. I had more than a few instances where I shot somebody off of a roof and their rifle ended up suspended in mid-air 50 feet off the ground. This was actually kind of amusing, I have to admit.

Although this game has been called a sequel to the original Area 51 for the xbox, I saw barely any connections or similarities between the two games. They basically have nothing to do with each other besides the name. Don't let the word "sequel" fool you. This is a pretty solid game. It has excellent graphics, fun gameplay and a pretty good story line (which is a little on the short side and a bit confusing as you aren't always sure whether you're fighting aliens or something else). Also, the inclusion of Dossiers helps to shed some light on what the game's story is about (you have to find them first, they are scattered through the campaign). The only major drawback for me was how the game was so ridiculously easy to beat. The entire game could easily be ran through in one night without problem. Another tiny thing I didn't like was that the dialogue was kind of hard to hear (could be because of my sound system). However, I still had a good and fun experience playing this game. I would definitely recommend this game to anyone who is looking for a fun and decent First-Person Shooter game for a great price.

When I first heard of this game I was like "ohh I wont get it", but after I downloaded the demo on xbox market place I was surprised and took my words back. I bought the game it is SWEET but, I would either rent or download first before you buy. But over all it is the sickest game ever to be played it is the best first person shooter right next to call of duty 4 and halo 3. But I wish this would be a lot easier to control and you would be able to run and the graphics are pretty insane. The helicopter mission was the best mission ever how the snake popped out that was insane so if I was you I would rent or buy it first. If you like alien games like halo and I guess turok you would definitely like this one it is a crazy game for gamers. But, also it isn't the best game but is pretty good and it would keep you entertained.

I didn't finish the game. I took it back cuz I got it used and bought another cheap game instead. But because it's so cheap it wouldn't hurt to buy it. The game is alright, not super fun unless you beat the game probably. It's kinda fun sending your minions out to own everybody, but it gets old at some point. Sometimes I get lost in what I'm doing. Sometimes the game got frustrating. Overall the graphics are alright. Storylines okay. You awake and you're overlord of these gremlin-like creatures. You have to find parts for the castle you live in. It's pretty much the same exact thing as pikmin but more fun cuz you can destroy things, and it's just more fun. At some point you have to find a mistress. Nothing really that super great about this game. You can sacrifice your minions to make your armor and weapons better.

I'm relatively new to the 7th generation gaming. I've been buying and playing shooters since December . HALO, Gears of war, Army of two etc..and enjoyed this game as much as any of those. I bought this game because the cover looked good and am not disappointed. The story line is good, if you listen to the dialog it makes since and doesn't leave you with more questions than answers. As far as challenging the squad with you doesn't do much but I don't like games were the AI does the work any ways .I thought the graphics were good ,and the sound was great. The controls like any other game were tough at first but you get used to them .So if your looking for a decent game at a good price I highly recommend this game . Especially if your a newby like me and at that price really what do you got to lose?

blacksite area 51 is a good game. the graphics are really great and the game is so much fun to play. i want to play it online so bad to see if it is a good online game but my internet is not working well so i need to get that fixed. in a way it reminds me of CoD... the controls and graphics do, not the game, game. this game is kinda but not really like halo. you have your aliens!! the game has crazy aliens. some dont die until you shoot it down a couple of times. then you have to watch out for the really big aliens...sometimes there might be to many aliens to fight and you have to watch your back constantly. it is also fun driving the cars and shooting down the monsters while your teammates drive. the game might get confusing sometimes but you will forget about that when you get past it. overall this game is fun
