Assassin's Creed is, if not a perfect game, a perfect experience. Have you ever seen a movie where something was wrong, like acting, script, etc, but you still felt completely immersed and sucked into it anyway? This is what Assassin's Creed is like. As a game, it's good, but as an experience overall, it's fantastic. You are Altair, 12th century Assassin during the Third Crusade. You are assigned to take out nine authority figures who are exploiting and manipulating the land. But the storyline is so much deeper than that. It slowly snowballs, getting bigger and bigger, more immersing, drawing you in more with each cut scene, until you can't put the controller down or tear your eyes from the screen until you see it to the end. That's how good it is. But, even if the game has such a great storyline that gives great reason to play, the controls, interface, and game itself must be good. Thank goodness they are. The control scheme is perfect, and it makes climbing walls and free running an amazing experience. Also, once you master the learning curve for counter kills and fighting, you'll OWN every guard that draws their sword against you. The only minor flaw in this game is the repetition of the same kind of missions over and over again for each assassination target. Thankfully, it doesn't start to get old until the final target. Also, once you beat the game, (12-15 hours), there is still so much more to do. If your more action oriented, you can fight all the guards who are harassing citizens (it gets you achievements if you save all needy citizens in a city). For the exploratory types, finding flags hidden in every nook and cranny of the cities is great, and will also yield achievements. Overall, this game is a must-have. Or, if you know you won't want to go back and play more, a very worth-while weekend rent.

Awesome games!!!

I have played all of the assassin's creed games. Start with assassin creed and play them all in order. Sense I finished Revelations, which is the last one. I haven't found another game yet that has held interest. I was playing the assassins games for 36 hours at a time, just to see where I was going next. The history of the time that is in every seen, if want to read and veiw is worth the price of the game. You can't go wrong buying and playing these 4 games. Be carefull, the templars are out and will get you.... P/S The very best Mid-Evil games I've ever played. And I have played alot of them!!!

Assassin's Creed is a game set in 1191, at the height of the Third Crusade. Secretly another war is being fought where a group is interested in control and power and the group of assassins that are fighting against them, who want to protect the chaotic freedoms of humanity. This sets up one of the most intriguing storylines to grace the gaming landscape. Assassin's Creed isn't perfect but it's the beginning of an amazing tale that spans centuries. You control an arrogant but deadly Assassin, Altair Ibn La'Had in the fight against the Knights Templar. Altair is capable of many things such as parkour or freeruning, which allows him to climb any building or structure. This can be used for a fast way of travel via rooftops or as an escape option from city guards. When escaping from guards, Altair can hide after the guards line of sight has been broken. He can jump into bales of high, rooftop gardens, sit on a bench, or blend with a group of passing scholars. He is also a very capable fighter that expertly wields swords and other blades, can throw knives to take down opponents silently from afar and can use his hidden blade, the Assassin's weapon of choice to take down enemies when running isn't an option. The swordplay and freeruning animation are easily the best on the market, as every movement is fluid and looks very realistic. The kill animations are brutal and very satisfying, giving you the want for more. The mission structure is very linear, kill nine targets and to do this Altair must first investigate his target by eavesdropping on conversations, beating up an individual until they talk, etc. These missions do tend to get repeative to some people, but for me, I thought they were quite enjoyable. When going after your targets, you visit three cities of interest; Jerusalem, Acre, and Damascus. Each city is different and gives the player different and a beautiful change in scenery. With that said, take a leap of faith and buy this game and invest in the Assassin's Creed franchise, you will not be disappointed.

This game is perfect for: hardcore gamers

I have played a couple of the assassin's creed and never really grasped the story. I saw the upcoming trailer for the Assassin's Creed III (which is actually the fifth one :<) So i decided to get the first one and play them in order. So i got this one and actually payed attention to the story and i found it really interesting. This is a game that makes you think and the fighting is fun. The only thing that annoys me are the buggers. Just a quick note at the end make sure you watch the credits from start to finish you can get up make something to eat or something just don't skip or you will miss out on a 50G achievement This is a great game and would definitely play it, i would explain more but I am not a man of spoilers. Happy Gaming ^..^

This was a good game. The graphics are good for the year it came out. The gameplay is smooth. And the sound was great. I liked the history in this game and the historical landmarks. After a while though, i got a little repetitive, interrogate this guy, listen to these guys, and finally kill the guy. I've heard the second was really good so i'm probably gonna go buy the second one. All in all good game but a little repetitive.

This game is one of the best i have ever played. the truly best thing about this game is the story. it is a great way to introduce someone into the Assassins Creed franchise. i have played all the games and this game is my favorite. i would definetly recommend this to a friend. remember play this game FIRST!!! then the other ones later.

If there was one thing wrong it would be that sometimes when you climb a wall or building it goes slow or gets stuck briefly, but other than that i would reccomend this to all gamers. really its AMAZING im going to get the second one soon.

This game is perfect for: casual gamers

This game could have been great. But the missions were all repetitive. Every time I came to a new area I found myself doing the same exact things... I wanted soo badly to stick it out because the story is intriguing, but it was hard for me to stay awake playing this. I work long hours, and try to squeeze in a few hours of game time after work. With this game I felt like that time was wasted. Perhaps I'll give it another try during vacation time in the future. That way I can remain conscious through the experience...
