Worth the hype? I say YES!
From roaming the streets of Acre and Jerusalem, to Florence and Rome, the Assassin's Creed series has brought to us a magnitude of history, action, excitement, and challenge. All have been very enjoyable. But, what I like most of the series is its ability to shed repetitive gameplay and evolve into a challenging, fun new experience every time you pick up that controller. With all of the hype for this upcoming masterpiece, word of this series is spreading and FAST. Popularity groes on a daily basis, and I'll admit it is VERY worth it. So, the only bad thing abouth this game is waiting, and waiting, and waiting.
P.S. The multiplayer is also worth the money by itself, so for the true diehard Assassin's Creed fans, it is worth over $120! Sounds like a bargain to ME! And for those new to the series, WELCOME TO THE BROTHERHOOD!
One story ends, another begins.
Many of you AC fans out there have speculated whether or not AC: Revelations is the official Assassin's Creed 3. Let me take this opportunity to answer and hopefully clear up this question. AC: Revelations is the final chapter in the existing story lines of Desmond, Altair, and Ezio. Players can expect to see two outcomes in this game's conclusion; a bridge between Ezio and Desmond's bloodlines, and possibly a conclusion to Desmond's role in the overall story.
This does NOT mean however that AC: Revelations is the official third chapter of the AC series. In the June issue of Game Informer #218, the studios at Ubisoft and Ubisoft Montreal officially announced that plans for an AC3 are currently in development for a possible release between 2012 and 2013. The new storyline will feature new characters, a new setting, and a new time period. Many are speculating when and where the story will take place. The most popular scenario is the story based on the three-issue comic series called AC: The Fall about a former imperial soldier in late 19th century Russia. Other popular theories include Japan, South America, and even the US during the Civil War.
Whatever the case may be, AC3 will be something new and different that will stand apart from the current games. Unfortunately, until we know more, fans will be bidding a fond farewell to the current characters we've all come to know and love.
AC: Revelations comes out November 15 and it looks like Desmond, Altair, and Ezio are going out in one heck of a bang!
Welcome to the Brotherhood!
First off, if you wonder if you should get this game, ask yourself: "Do I love action/gripping story/love/betrayal/swords/and Italian dudes with SWAG?" If you select the answer YES, read the rest. My first point is the graphics of these games. This is not Battlefield or Call of Duty, so do not compare the games. This is a third person game. The graphics are realistic and awe inspiring, especially the architecture. You should appreciate the artists' work on this series. The people, especially their faces, are realistic enough to make you wonder if it is a movie. The AI is perhaps my favorite part of the game. They react depending on your actions. If you jump, climb, or run, you may attract unwanted attention while stalking targets. The guards have arrows above their heads showing if they are watching or turning hostile. The controls are my final reason for getting the game. This series has a reputation for fluent controls. The climbing is fun as well as fighting. I would suggest roaming around for a few minutes to get the conrols down. If you are facing a large group of guards, use a counter move to pick them off one by one. This will also give you cool kill animations for the added awe-effect. So, if this all doesn't impress you, I don't see how any other game could. I'm not saying it will be Game of the Year, but it will have real chance. So please don't compare these games to Skyrim or Battlefield or Call of Duty, just play and you will see the difference. You will be thanking me on 11/15/2011.
