Rated 7 out of 10 by Pvt. Johansen very realistic
i personly think that the game was very good. the story line of the game is only training with paint rounds. but if you are going into the army or marines it will help give you a feel of what boot camp or bct is going to be like. b/c the whole game even online it tells you to stick with your team at all times and it will reward you for doing just that. its a very good training tool i think .b/c if one of your teamates is hit they wont die until they bleed out teaching people valuble teamwork skills b/c you have time to heal them. but the graphics are not the best. and its very challinging b/c it makes your charicter huff and puff when your spring or jogging and if your trying to aim you'll swing all around. but when you rank your charicter up it stops this from happing b/c your traing him/her. the AI is prity smart, they will flank you suppress you. so overall if you're going into the military as marine or in the army this is a must have game. but if you dont like a challenge i'dd say stay away from this game. its hard.
Rated 1 out of 10 by Kinnolo True Soldiers, thank God it's wrong...
Well, to start this off the demo is pretty terrible. So if that's all you've played, the game gets worse. The controls are not fine tuned, you either stay still or run. You can't get reliable friendly AI units, all yours do in a firefight on the second wargame is shoot rocks while you get cut down by the two dozen Opfor surrounding you. And even though YOU brave enemy fire to heal your teamates, they leave you out to dry. So most missions you play end in you bleeding out because your team hates you. The brightness level on the game started out so low that you can hardly see what you're supposed to see, the movements tutorial is the second to LAST training mission, so for most of the training you don't know how to move, you don't know how to reload, you don't know how to change your rate of fire, and you don't know how to change weapons. Bsically the only good feature in this game is the grenade arch meter that tells you where your grenade will land.
Rated 2 out of 10 by XBOX Ruler One word: Terrible!
This game is terrible, I thought that this game was going to be like the original ghost recon games with a US army label on it. I was wrong, I thought that this could be played as a solo game with AI teammates it is not either you play by your self as one person alone fighting the enemy or you can play the missions on line with human team mates. That is not the worst part to me it is the terrible controls of the game it is not easy to do things in here as it is in Ghost Recon or GRAW. Sometimes I feel that my soilder is floating through the air than walking on the ground, also the gun is hard to aim because of the control problems. The only bright spot is that if you are good enough you can earn points to your soilders attribute rating maybe that can help the gun problems that I encountered. The graphics and animation are average nothing special. So don't get this game.
Rated 10 out of 10 by Pvt.Cole_VADF Not your average "Game"
My headline says it all, this is not your average game. People expect the same thing with this game as they did with true soldiers, another chance to play warrior. Well with this game you get that chance, as well as with the first game. But remember the AA games were originally developed as a training tool for the Army, not a game for people to get all excited about. Hence the reason why in the first game there was all that training, its real training techniques used. So don't get all gung-ho about this game, your not going to get COD4, Battlefield, or GRAW, your going to get a game based on true events, and true training. The reason this "game" was developed, was so they could drop new recruits, and prospects in the battlezone and see if they actually put the training to good use. For anyone looking for a challenge and to learn, pick this game up, its is 100% worth it. And if you have a pc or ps2, try to find yourself a copy of the original. It was discontinued, and replaced with this game. Believe me I have the original game on my PC, and had the PS2 game. Unless this is the same one, just redesigned.

This might be the worst game I have ever played in my life! Even with the pistol you can't control your aim, let alone any other weapon. The slightest of trees and twigs stop you in your tracks leaving you vulnerable to anything that is out there. When I first used the sniper I could barely see the cross hairs. Your team mates? What team mates? When you get shot down don't expect them to come help you, all they do is stand there and shoot at nothing. But I must say they are good at catching bullets. The graphics well I have seen better that's for sure. When the gun fires, it sometimes kicks back at you but when you unleash it has a hard time figuring out when to come back at you. The guns don't even sound real. So all in all do not get this game it is a waste of time, money and actually it just makes you really mad during game play.
Rated 10 out of 10 by shooterman34 Forget the bad reviews, this is an all star game
all right, first off, forget the bad reviews. They obviously are used to the running and gunning of Call of Duty or Battlefield, this is any thing but CQB. You engage targets from long range and they are pretty much a dot. The charachters are amazing and you gain a special bond. I had the original xbox game and if it is half the game that was, it is worth buying. Yes there is a hard time sniping, but its like real life.bullet drop, lift, all of that. u have to get the hang of it. Assault rifles even have drop. It is a tactical game and if you dont like games like that dont buy this game. But if you weant to experience what it is like to be a true soldier, buy this game. The graphics arnt the best, but theyre not the worst either. For any hardcore shooter enthusiast, buy this game. You wont regret it
Rated 7 out of 10 by SuperCancer I thought it was pretty good
At first, I thought this game might be kinda crappy, but then I got to playing it. There are some parts that are frustrating, but in my opinion, it's a pretty good game. It COULD be a lot better though, I'm not sure if I'd recommend it though. As for teammates responding: they kinda respond, sometimes they disappear and you can't find them and then you have to restart the mission, so yes some parts are frustrating, but overall it's something that I'd play frequently. And I hold games and graphics in a very high standard. I must say, the pictures on some websites make this game look A LOT better then it really is. It has good graphics, aim, so on and so on, but some of the pictures are false. That's propaganda for you. But yes, I'd recommend it.

First of all americas army true stories is a great game. If your new to the game it's easy to find out the controlls use the instructions manual and if u dont know just try to figure it out. The game is a great inprovement from the first americas army. It has better gameplay and graphics. Of course it isnt perfect it has its bugs. but in all serioce ness it isnt a gamethat you think you can beat at one time. Yes your teamates dont revive no matter how many times you revive them. (unless online) But if you played the first Americas Army you will know that. But for the newbies you will really like it if u liked some of the other first person shooters, like call of dutty, and halo. But i wouldnt advise you to but it if you dont have online play. Yes the story is long but once you beat it you will more than likely sell it. Thats why i advise you to buy it if you have online play. All in all it is a major improvement from the first one but it isnt a game that you will love at once (kinda like gears of war) , you will probably think it sucks but once you get used to it it will be one of those series that you will want to buy agin and agin and agin. So buy it if you want but dont just say it sucks from the first one-hour of gameplay keep playing it ,so its a good game and a good buy
Rated 7 out of 10 by SpruseJohnson Gives ya the feel of basic training to a point
As someone that served in the military this game brings back memories of going through basic training. You have to learn how to do most of the same things that you would have to do in basic without all the marching and PT and whatnot. Now mind ya, this is not like most games, it is more to go and give those thinking about joining the Army what they are in for. It is more of a simulation of Army training and not a CoD or Battlefield type game. Now a few things they could have made better such as having the drills yell at you like they do in real life. Also, if you constantly screw up you should have to do some push-ups but besides that, it does give a good feel of what Army basic training is like.
Rated 0 out of 10 by Lycan Da Hunter I am syched about this!!!
I played this game on PC and was addicted. When I heard it was coming out for xbox I was even more thrilled. I like playing console games far more the PC due the ease of the controller. I picked up ROAS the day it came out and played it religiously until jan of this year (07) when I got a 360 for my birthday. I was saddened to find out that it wasn't playable on the 360. I thought about keeping the black box pluged in to keep up with it but I decided that R6:Vegas would quench my thirst for AA. Now that it is coming to 360 it looks like I am going to have to call the addiction place to admit myself again after about 3 months of non-stop play. HOOOORRRRRAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!! Move out, soldiers!!!!!!
