This is the best football game ever made. It's so much better than madden. Madden is just the same game every year only roster changes. Madden is getting old and frustrating. In this game when you first start it's really easy. All you do is pick out 2 gold star players (like dan marino, emmit smith, jerry rice etc) then get 3 silver stars and i think 7 or 8 bronze stars. The gameplay is great in this game, although it's a little annoying when you keep diving at a guy and you will mostly not tackle him. I recommend getting a good kicker like jan stenerued. The kicking system is a little difficult, but after a while you will be kicking 60 yard field goals. 2k sports is really stepping it up lately with nba 2k9 getting a 9, college hoops with a 9, 2k8 baseball 8.5, and top spin getting an 8, the only thing they really did bad in was hockey. NHL 2k9 got like a 6.75 to 7, which is acceptable. All in all a great game and for ***** it's a great deal for this spectacular game.

This game is way under 2k sports standards.I'm dissappointed in 2k.I say they remake this idea with: better graphics; better anouncers ;more modes;more players;and last but certainley not least a nice career mode.I know that 2k is not done. They WILL make a better football game. EA has not kicked them out yet BUT if 2k messes up again they'll fall off the cliff. Now to tell you how this game doesn't meet my 2k standards.First the player design is horrible. The players are boxy and it looks as if visual concepts has lost there touch. However the physics play better than ESPN NFL 2K5.There are barely any modes. There is the season mode which is terrible because of the fact your is never going to be better than teams like the Legends. The team creation is great. It is by far my most favourite thing to do in this game. The gameplay is awesome that is the best thing about thing about this game. The controls are excellent and help this game.Overall the rating is:7.1.A solid game thats not beautiful but can play well.

Former madden-boy defects to the other side!!!! I Have been a Maddenite since the '95 days on the Sega Genesis. Then 2K5 hit the shelves. Both games were good, but the 2K had a better presentation. Then EA bought the NFL and NFLPA rights. Madden 06 and 07 have both been a disappointment. I will get 2K8 because I enjoy presentation and better game play. I hope that the editing is very detailed. I would like to be able to edit teams, uni's, players, stadiums. It should be customizable, being that they have no rules. This could make for a very fun and rewarding football gaming experience. This former Madden fan boy is now a 2k believer. I still play my NFL 2K5. I hope the baseball game is better than 2k6, because that stunk. the only reason I still have my PS2 is because of NFL 2k5 and MLB 06 the Show. If MLB 2k7 and APF 2k8 are good, I will have no reason to keep my PS2. Because I refuse to buy a PS3. But I digress. Got off the subject. 2K Rules......EA Drools!!!!

First of all I just wanted to say that if xbox 360 can make the last 2k for the regular xbox backwards compatible that'll be awesome, but since they came out with 2K8 WOW!!!!! no need for it. Madden is a good game but it always lacked the smooth fluid motion captured moves overall from tackling to running style. Another addition to madden is that they offered the old school throwback uniforms and most of them were from the 50's there were a few of the teams uni's that were kind of accurate. For example Detroit Lions I thought they were going to have the old school uniform back when Barry played and it wasnt. I was pretty upset about that. 2K offered more than just a football game if 2K had some the madden elements such as training a player to go through the 40 yard dash etc. 2K would definitely have you saying "eh guys remember that other football game, I forgot the name of it but it sucked whatever the name of it is was it on genesis or the NES"

2K games has been making awesome sports games for the longest time. The reason EA Sports bought the exclusive rights to the NFL was because they were afraid of the competition. Rather than upgrading their football game, they decided to do the laziest thing possible and just buy out the competition. They have cheated their customers and other sports video game fans with Madden '07. I purchased it because there was no other option. I had more fun watching paint dry!!! In the meantime 2K has the made the best basketball game this year with NBA 2K7 and should be upgrading their baseball game (since they hired the lead designer of MVP baseball) as a result of the disappointing MLB 2K6 game. At least they realize that they need to improve their games! EA sports has the ability to make great games but for the last couple of years they haven't really tried, and that is what hurts the gaming industry. Wake up EA and stop cheating your customers.

Listen, there is no joke that Nfl 2k5 was a very nice change of pace from Madden. Anyone who owns a 360 and has played the last two maddens and thinks that the games were above avg. are kidding themselves. EA sports has not came to bat with a good product in any sport for a next gen title. They are more worried about putting outstanding graphics in a game and mixing it with sloopy game play, all the while crushing there loyal fans hearts. That being said about EA, I like football but im not sure about this one im sure the game play will be a nice change of pace, however its hard for me to get into a football game that let alone does not have active rosters so i dont know about no offical teams. I understand they couldnt get the license, and 2k is doing the best they can it probally will be a good game. But for XBOX 360, it doesnt appear that there will be any football game in its tray this season and for a while, is just a sad situation.

Don put to much in not having the NFL in the game. The NFL had to start with crazy names also. Rent the movie "Any Given Sunday" with Jamie Fox in it. Look at the teams in that movie they all sucked, but the football action was off the hook. I don't care if I am playing with Oakland killers they are going to have silver and black. You are going to be able to change the name anyway. Wait until you make your first tackle or throw your first TD with 0:03 seconds left in the game right over the middle between two defenders taking it to the house for a 60 yard TD. And for the first time in a football game they get it right. Football is football I don't care what anybody says, if the other team has a weak CB you are going to line up your newley created player first round draft pick off the bench with 4.3 speed "Calvin Johnson". Up against the poor CB and watch your player show you guys why you waited for so long for "AllPro Football 2k8"

every since madden became monopolized the frnachise has fallen from grace. anyone who has any economics sense will tell you that when a company has no competition they do what ever they want, and the consumers suffer, because they know theres nothing we can do about it. well now times are a changing. i owned the dreamcast and nfl 2k through 2k5 and has always enjoyed it. i think this one will be good as well. understand that there are two outcomes from this added competition: 1st, 2k8 may be a really good game and for all the peps who bought madden and traded it in after playing it twice, now we have an alternative. 2nd, this competition will make a madden a better game. thus, either way its good for use the customer. just look at nba live vs 2k7, 2k series rocks and 2k7 baseball is the shiznit. and who nows if 2k8 is successful maybe madden will lose that contract with the nfl and there will be other nfl games to chose from like

Rated 0 out of 10 by artistic_dj THANKS 2k!! I HATE Madden Football
I hate madden football. I hated it soon as I saw how much better 2k was than it. I kept tellin these madden fans 2k was better. Madden players look fake anyways campared to 2k players. 2k5 was way way ahead of its time in graphics and gameplay. People told me they did not like 2k because its not as easy to score a touchdown or catch passes. Isnt that the point to have a challenge when playing sports games. Madden is just too unrealistic campared to 2k. Look what they did in NBA 2k. CRUSHED NBA live. Madden got scared like wimps and bought the NFL rights. That alone should tell you they knew they would be beat. As for gamers; thank Madden for making NFL football games 1 demensional. With a games that arent up to par with next gen games. Last football game i bought was 2k5 in 04. I don't even think of buying football games anymore. BUT I will now! Thanks 2k for comming out with this game. Dont dissapoint the fans.

Madden's game engine has never once come close to the magic of the VC engine used in previous 2k football games. The 2k series football games we're so good that many like myself felt almost addicted to the amazing gameplay. Sure not having full NFL support will hurt a little, but in the end the online gameplay including leagues with real time injuries and internet support will rule supreme once again. I'd bet that over the next few years the 2k football games will take a serious chunk out of EA's Madden profits. I'd like nothing more than to see them have to feel the pain of the 2k gridiron titles when paying the NFL the remainder of that 600 million as well as all the millions to ESPN for stealing away the rights to own NFL football. I personally don't care if it's USFL football from the 80's or whatever... one this game comes out I will NEVER buy another Madden game again. Long live 2k Football!!!
