Game Informer Rating:

Rated 4.0 out of 10 by Game Informer.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from A Bad Game of Legendary Proportions Ah, Aliens Colonial Marines. By now, I'm sure everyone reading this review has heard the negative hype behind this game. And I'll come right out and say it: the haters are right. Not only did I find this game to be extremely bland and boring, but it took everything right with the Alien franchise -- the horror, claustrophobia and dread -- and rips it out of the game chestburster style and leaves us with a boring husk of a game, completely devoid of personality or meaning. Quite possibly the worst atrocity of this game was committed behind the scenes. From the shady and misleading E3 demo "gameplay" to the almost decade of "hot potato" that went on with the production of this game, it was a doomed project from the start. Original XBOX graphics, a nonsensical story and quite honestly the worst AI I have EVER encountered in ANY video game makes this title one of the most disappointing games I've ever played. Not to mention that in ALIENS Colonial Marines, the majority of your time will be spent fighting mindless enemy soldiers so dumb that they would make the ones in Call of Duty blush. It seems like someone may have tried, at least a little, to save this pile of garbage. There are some very cool nods to Aliens in the form of "legendary weapons" (Hicks' Shotgun, Vasquezs' Smartgun) that you can find scattered about and scenes that are directly out of the movie. But despite these efforts, it's all a lost cause. This game SCREAMS cash-in, and die-hard fans like myself along with casual gamers should take no part in it

Rated 4 out of 5 by from play and judge for your self I know this game wasn't well reviewed because people said the A'I wasn't good. I personnel did not see any A'I problems and I played all the way through the main game. Actuality the way the aliens would sneak around me while I was fighting two others maid it so when I heard that the A'I was bad it shocked me. But also one problem dos not make a bad game in Shadow of the colossus you couldn't clime the colossus some times because of meshing problems on the colossus itself it would even get you thrown of of the colossus some times. is Shadow of the colossus a bad game? No it also wasn't well know when it came out and now it's a classic(i'd like to note i'm not saying Aliens: Colonial Marines is up there with Shadow of the colossus) and that's what I hope could happen with this game accept instead no one playing it for a bit it goes from being seen as bad to at least OK. And also if you do play it play with a friend the co-op make the game way more fun and some parts easier. it's only 6.99 unless you play on play station then it's 9.99 I have no idea way. if you loved the movies then give this a try if you don't like it no "you just only play Call of Duty and Battle Field you don't know what real games are" stuff I hate people that do that. you just don't like the game and it was only 6.99 so no harm but if you want to have some opinion on the game play it don't just go off what you'v read "professional" game reviews say or even me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A true Alien fan experience I will keep it short and to the point. It is all about what you like as a Gamer. Remember a review is just the opinion of someone else and not some official stamp of approval. I rate a game based on the emotional ride it gives me, how it plays, and the way it looks. Emotions: 9 / Play:9 / Look:8. Fire it up on YouTube for a 1st level walk-through . Multiplayer is great as well. "STAY FROSTY"

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A good sci-fi game I think colonial marines is a good game. Review say its a bad game but i think its pretty good. Its from the creators of borderlands. The campaign has good coop and story. The multiplayer has good modes. Not as good has it should be but you should try it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Could have been better I wasn't very hyped for this game like many people were, but I got it and the game isn't bad but isn't good either. It does many things like sound and atmosphere right and it does many things like gameplay and story wrong. Overall, the game is just average and okay.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good This game doesnt receive the credit it deserves. While yes, this is not the game promised by Gearbox, it really is still an enjoyable experience. The story to me is engaging, however this does have A LOT of segments where you find yourself fighting other humans. The game probably shouldve been called Call of Aliens: Weyland Yutani, but having human enemies at times feels logical and is understandable. The AI isnt the best, but it gets the job done. The graphics are good, sound is great, and this game is definitely worth the $10

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Solo calls out for marco, Co-op responds with polo Now here's the thing with this game, the missions are stupid, especially the plot. The graphics are just decent, for a 2008 game. The sounds and voice acting are so-so, but for some reason the gameplay I don't find terrible, but somewhat good. Now here me out, this is a mediocre game, but the fun of shooting guns at glitching aliens and the upgrades along the way make the game genuinely stupid fun, just with more stupid than it needs. Of course it's more like a 4/10 alone, and a 6/10 with a friend, since co-op is the only reason I bought this game, not to mention I bought it for $5, which isn't too bad. If you're looking at it when it's on sale and you have a friend who has it or has the money to get it, get it with him and play it, otherwise, don't waste your time.
