This game has been getting terrible reviews honestly I think the game is awesome, I have been a huge "Aliens" fan since I watched the movie and I think they nailed it. Some criticized the A.I just charging you and taking hits but the warrior aliens are supposed to do that actually, if you read into the mythology that is their job, get close then just charge and overwhelm. Graphics could be better but they are not bad by any means.
Sound quality is amazing and perfect like the movie, gameplay is smooth and works great. If you are still skeptical don't get the game but if you are an "Aliens" fan get this game by any means necessary.

I know this game wasn't well reviewed because people said the A'I wasn't good. I personnel did not see any A'I problems and I played all the way through the main game. Actuality the way the aliens would sneak around me while I was fighting two others maid it so when I heard that the A'I was bad it shocked me. But also one problem dos not make a bad game in Shadow of the colossus you couldn't clime the colossus some times because of meshing problems on the colossus itself it would even get you thrown of of the colossus some times. is Shadow of the colossus a bad game? No it also wasn't well know when it came out and now it's a classic(i'd like to note i'm not saying Aliens: Colonial Marines is up there with Shadow of the colossus) and that's what I hope could happen with this game accept instead no one playing it for a bit it goes from being seen as bad to at least OK. And also if you do play it play with a friend the co-op make the game way more fun and some parts easier. it's only 6.99 unless you play on play station then it's 9.99 I have no idea way. if you loved the movies then give this a try if you don't like it no "you just only play Call of Duty and Battle Field you don't know what real games are" stuff I hate people that do that. you just don't like the game and it was only 6.99 so no harm but if you want to have some opinion on the game play it don't just go off what you'v read "professional" game reviews say or even me.

Sega and gear box have dropped the ball on this one guys, being an alien franchise fan this is a hurt to me and my wallet. First off the graphics are early Xbox 360 graphics, which by now is unacceptable. Second the choppy frame drop and bland game play is even more of an insult, a game that was in making since 2008 it should have been fantastic and made me feel like part of the movie with the suspense, horror, gore and overall alien awesomeness but sadly NO. Was it a surprise to me that gear box was going to pull off a lazy move, not really. We can see that they didn't even make the dlc for borderlands 2. This is why Gearbox have just taken a back seat with Capcom, EA in my book, you don't hire third party companies to do the work you do it yourself. To bring this review to a wrap, ladies and gentlemen this game is atrocious the online aspect is alright but that's the only part gear box devoted there so called time to. Save your money and go for something else you wont regret it.
Rated 1 out of 10 by AleHorn Really bad game
honestly i though this was going to be good but it really sucks, the sounds were great but the animation and the graphics are old school ive seen better games than this junk, the multi player is a bit worse, its choppy to even bring up the score screen and to even land a pounce, i went rite over the top of my enemy or the sides when i had a direct hit, you can even fly though the air on the open map multi player lvls its stupid. on single player when u die its not realistic as the marine and alien stare each other in the faces in the starter mission when u meet up with ur partner for the areas, you can even put it on (ulitmate badass) there hardest difficulty which is really not you can sit on butt though most of the areas cause half the time he doesnt even go down and when he gets back up its nearly instant stand up, the least they could of done was let an extensive beta mulitplayer demo to atleast see there flaws before the game was actully released, but thats my opinion.

The campaign starts off strong with tons of references from the movie but i feel its lacking the suspense, that being said you basically run around killing aliens and marines. Also the graphics aren't up to date with shooters like call of duty, with texture problems and bad mouth movements. it basically feels like duke nukem forever with xenos.

Multiplayer: Ok my favorite part..... This game has epic multiplayer i found myself playing more than 4 hours. With 5 game modes, 4 maps, and awesome customization for your characters. You can play as the marine or the infamous xeno morphs! Controlles can get very frustrating for the xenos but once you get the hang of it youll be a killing machine as for the marine the controlles are quite simple basic FPS point and shoot. A must for left for dead and dead space fans!

Side note the season pass will be $30 and include 4 dlcs that include story mode and multiplayer goodies

Sega in general has developed a track record of sub-standard quality recently, and as much as a squad based shooter set in the Aliens universe should be exactly the type of game I'd love to see, I've been let down time and time again by this once vaunted developer/publisher. From their abysmal entry into the "giant robot" genre with Chrome Hounds to their most recent Alien Vs Predator, it has been let down after disappointing let down. Even their flagship Sonic franchise has fallen by the wayside in recent years. In regards to this game specifically, their treatment of AVP leaves an apprehensive stance going into Colonial Marines. Even the good parts of the game were overshadowed when the terribly broken matchmaking is taken into account, making it a chore to even play the game despite it's flaws, a trait that is shared by Sega's earlier Chrome Hounds. Since this is a serious flaw that Sega games have a track record of sharing, it leaves an upcoming shooter that is banking on it's multi-player component (both co-op and TBA modes) a scary proposition indeed, but for none of the intended reasons.

When I first played Colonial Marines I was shocked at how poor the graphics were, I mean the characters & enemies look decent but the surroundings look like they would if this game were on Ps2, but I figured the gameplay would be good enough it wouldn't matter & for the first two missions I literally hated the game, it was just repetitive shoot & run, so I was like okay, I'll try multiplayer & that is even worse, it's not even fun to play, marines will camp in a corner together & mow Aliens down, BORING! plus the execution kills look terrible, what happened to cool executions we got in AVP?, so after being disappointed in every way possible I tried single player out one more time & once you get to the third mission it becomes slightly better & hopefully it will become the game I was hoping it would be but for now this is not something I'd suggest buying
Rated 5 out of 10 by splinter198717 Mediocre Game that could have been great
I am a huge aliens fan, and I was looking forward to this game since I heard of it's development. Aliens games in the past have been mediocre but when I saw that gearbox was behind this, I had high hopes. After finishing the game and playing the multiplayer I have to say, this game failed to deliver. The graphics are dated, the combat is clunky and monotonous and the game itself is full of so many glitches it's hard to look past them. If you are a fan of the movie you'll find alot of easter eggs relating to the film and some of the questions you had are answered, plus there are a few twists in the story that are moderately interesting but the gameplay ultimately kills the potential. If you love the franchise, then I would recommend this game, but if you are looking for a fluid shooter or great co op experience I wouldn't advise buying this one.
Rated 0 out of 10 by Clarkey Cool concept, has potential if done right
My first thoughts about this game was that it would probably be mediocre.... I didn't see how you could have much enemy variety. As I've seen more and more about the game I think it has some potential. The Left 4 Dead games really don't have that much in enemy variety but that game itself is a blast..... this strikes me as a game that could be in the same vein.... but the upgrade system they speak of could really make this a cool game. I'm a sucker for a good weapon/character upgrade system... if this game manages to get the actual FPS mechanics right (and from what I've seen of the dev. team I think they can), then add in a progressive upgrade system and a game that is fun in co-op... you could have a winner here. I'll wait and see but I have much more faith in the product than I did when I first read of it.
