AFRO SAMURAI taps into the very core of an insidious past we all choose to mask with political correctness. No tedious explanations why this warrior has set in motion what many to this day, both metaphorically and literally, keep simmering just below the surface,REVENGE. AFRO knows not why he has been chosen by the gods to enlist help from an unlikely source so endowed with confidence he is sometimes annoying, and neither does he care. The true SAMURAI questions only the amount of blood shed in pursuit of his primary goal, that question being whether or not it was enough. This game captures what simplicity can accomplish once all trivial distractions are set aside alloying instincts to navigate ones true purpose. The comic-book feel and hilarious mini games bring back the nostalgia of what games were truly intended for in the first place, kicking ass and having fun at the same time.AFRO SAMAURAI is a must for anyone who's not afraid to admit the one thing we all know to be true....everybody's got a little ninja in them.

Being a fan of the 5 episode "series" and sequel movie, I thought I had to atleast try the game expecting it to be fairly bogus. I was wrong. After trying to rent it from several places and checking back to see if it was in, I got impatient and went out and picked a copy up. I was glad that I did. The game is entertaining and stays fairly true to the anime itself with a few differences. Its a mass hack and slash with fun slow motion and body parts flying everywhere. There are many different combos you can do with Afro with clever names. Being someone who does not enjoy many new games very often, this game was very entertaining. Pros: Fun, true to the anime, fun abilities, cool art style, and not extremely short. Cons: A few graphical bugs here and there (though nothing major). For some reason the developers decided to invert the X axis without the option to make it what we are all most likely used to. Took awhile to adjust to being able to use the camera with the inversion. Once you get the hang of it, its not a big deal.

where do i even begin with this game. first of all, afro samurai is one of the concepts for a story, and it was pretty much being asked to be made into a video game. its pretty epic. the graphics are amazing, and the music is sick. RZA did excellent on setting the whole "wu-tang" tone the game. the beginning has quite a few cinematic scenes, more than my personal liking, but once you get past that, you're ready to shread. the gameplay is addictive straight from the start. the combos and moves you're capable of doing are almost endless and the graphics are super smooth. the only i thing i didn't like was the default Y-AXIS, but you can change it in options. other than that, im just hoping this game isn't short. i just got it this morning and im hoping its not something i beat in a few days. overall this game is a preetty sure fire favorite for me. whether you're a fan of the show or not, i highly reccomend you get this game. you will NOT be let down.
Rated 10 out of 10 by brutal jc The best game ive played in a long time
afro samurai is one of the best games i have played in like forever the soundtrack is amazing because the RZA wrote it. the controls and camera can be a little weird at first but after you get used to it they are not that bad and they released an update for x-axis camera so its easier to move. the gore is off the chain its just about as much if not more than god of war. the gameplay is cool you can go into focus and slice different parts of their body off like their head when you chop it off you can see the brain inside that part of the skull and when you chop off their feet it gushes out and then they die and then theres over focus its where you go into focus but you can kill almost anybody in one slice of the sword and you can either press x for a side cut or y for a slice that cuts them in half. it gets a little frustrating form the second half of the game on but its a minor setback. this is a great game and i would reccomend it to anybody.
Rated 9 out of 10 by Positivus Prime Hack-n-Slash Beauty
Ok, let me start off by saying that this game is not groundbreaking by any means. It's your typical hack-n-slash action game that delivers good action and humor. The fighting does get a little repetitive after awhile but manages to keep it's fun at the same time. The camera does have some issues but it 's not soooo bad that it is unplayable. I have enjoyed this game very much and will continue to. This game also has some of the most bloodiest finishers I've seen since ninja gaiden 2. Very bloody but in a cool twist to the amazing art style used in the game. The graphics are purely mind blowing! Much like the new prince of persia but 100 times better. The picture is so crystal clear on my HD tv and the colors are insane. My wife isn't much of a gamer but even she was blown away by its beauty. I highly recommend this game to anybody that is looking for a not so serious game for a change. You will not be dissapointed!
Rated 1 out of 10 by $60 poorer So, video game quality and the economy are tanking?
Hmm... This was a big let down. I was not one of the people who were familiar with the storyline prior to the release of the video game, but a samurai video game with Samuel Jackson narrating sounds like a guaranteed hit. Well, the animation, narration and sound are a hit some of the best artistic design I have seen in a while. I just can't believe a video game company would employ such great artists, and probably the worst interface programming department in the industry today. Granted, I have only played this game on the Xbox 360 and the friend that recommended the game is playing on a PS3, but I don't think he had gotten to the second level when the fighting becomes more technical and the camera angles are SNAFU 80% of the time. It is a great idea to make a technical fighting game in a level based game it has worked before, and it will work again. Just please make the controls equally as responsive.
Rated 10 out of 10 by Robogame one of the best unknown games out there
Afro samurai is one of the best unknown games out there along side with splatter house, sniper ghost warrior,Turok, and wolfenstein anyways its like old school japan has gotten high tech with the robots and etc not to mention Samuel Jackson steals the show as ninja ninja well Afro's the main star and no one knows who's the actor of Afro samurai Afro rarely speaks and its based off the violent gory and sexiest mini series and sure to most people the graphics look cartoonish and stuff but hey to me it looks great and you wield a sword that can slice threw enemies like a hot knife threw warm butter and it comes in with a clever game ninja ninjas body part poker and the characters look amazing Afro samurai,Brother six,Justice,Okiku, and kuma this game deserves to be known but it can be hard to find sometimes and namco and surge need to make more copies and stuff but its fun violent and 100% awesome

This game was bananas, first I would like to say I'm a great fan of Afro samurai and they should have made this game when it first came out but I'm not mad. The game has a great gameplay where you can slice your enemies from the toes to their head and you have complete control of where you want to strike them which i think is a game first because I have never seen any other games where you can do that, the soundtrack was tight with the RZA, also i liked the graphics i thought it was original and fire. The things i didn't like was it was too short and the camera got annoying after a while. I thought the game would be much much longer and the camera view was hard because every time you would walk it would rotate which was manageable and first then just got very annoying. But besides that the game was great i would recommend buying it not renting. 10/10 hands down.
Rated 10 out of 10 by A.K.A Grizzly Pipes Enjoy the show play the game.
Have showed this game to a few friends who have seen the show and a few who haven't and the overall result is pretty much that you will enjoy this game if you have watched the show. Game is great fun first time threw, music is all very well done. As for the second time threw (beat game in 6 hours first time and 4.5 second) not so good. . Replay value on this game is terrible. Anime cutscenes and graphics are well done in a new way. I would only buy if you are a huge fan of the series otherwise burrow it from a friend, you can easily smash this game down for some easy acheviments. On another note Samuel Jackson is great with his random comments. sure to put a smile on your face. I Like how hes one of the first huge hollywood names to do some voice acting for a video game, something I hope to see more of in the future.
