one of the best unknown games out there
Afro samurai is one of the best unknown games out there along side with splatter house, sniper ghost warrior,Turok, and wolfenstein anyways its like old school japan has gotten high tech with the robots and etc not to mention Samuel Jackson steals the show as ninja ninja well Afro's the main star and no one knows who's the actor of Afro samurai Afro rarely speaks and its based off the violent gory and sexiest mini series and sure to most people the graphics look cartoonish and stuff but hey to me it looks great and you wield a sword that can slice threw enemies like a hot knife threw warm butter and it comes in with a clever game ninja ninjas body part poker and the characters look amazing Afro samurai,Brother six,Justice,Okiku, and kuma this game deserves to be known but it can be hard to find sometimes and namco and surge need to make more copies and stuff but its fun violent and 100% awesome

Game was good, Samuel L Jackson made it great
I really had a lot of fun with this game. Its a hack and slash game to the core and the story is really invigorating. That and the one-liners by Samuel L Jackson make it priceless. My friend and I beat the game in a little under 8 hours and had a blast with it. Definatly worth picking up for under $10

SLICING
First, I have to say, this have great graphics. It's really fun slicing opponents and everything. But one problem I faced was on one of the part where I have to make a perfect cut. I'm still stuck there. I don't know how long the story line is. I hope it's long. I like long story lines. What it lacks, is multiplayer. Multiplayer will be fun it it's added. I had a lot of fun playing this. There's no health bar, and there's very hard enemies which is fun for me since I like it more realistic. I hope they'll make another one of this with multiplayer. Than, this game will be lots of fun and lots of people will buy and play. Everyone loves games with multiplayer. There's no other problem with this game that I can think of. I'll also like to see a maybe dojo or practice mode to add to the fun.

Could Have Been Longer
If you're looking for a mindless hack n' slasher look no further, this is the game. The story will be quite confusing if you're not a fan of the series, the graphics are average, but its a cell shader so they did well there. The controls are very good as well as the sound. The game has a good engine for its kind, you can dismember a body limbs and chop up baddies into pieces just like the anime. Samuel L Jackson has a voice role in this game too lol. The boss fights can get very hard and tedious so bring you A game when you play this, the storymode could have been longer I was able to beat in 5 hours, I was expecting at least a 10 hr for a SP experience, overall the game wasn't that bad and I'll re-iterate, if you're looking for a mindless hack n slash this is the game for you.

it's not bad but not great.
At first i thought that this would be a good game to play over and over but it wasn't. Don't get me wrong this is a great game but after you beat it it gets..... well boaring. Personly i liked the fact that you can just kill for the fun of it but it was way to short. It needed way more fights and more enemies, not just the same ones. It is good the first time around but not the second. There needs to be more bosses and a way to choose the way your level up afects afro. Don't think that it's not a good game to buy, it's just not a good game to play over and over. It took me five days to beat and that was a let down to me personly. I mean if you like games that you have to kill people for no reason than this is game for you.... but if you like a game that is long than it is not for you sorry.

A Good Hack and Slash
Word to the wise...If you HAVE NOT seen the anime I STRONGLY suggest you do so first before playing the game because if you've yet to see it, you will be COMPLETELY LOST storyline wise in the game. Afro Samurai is Surge's own take/retelling of the the season 1 anime. Certain events are tweaked, certain ones are completely changed, and certain events/scenes are just not at all in the game. From the start of the game till the very end this is pretty much just a hack and slash...luckily its a good one. Graphics- Afro Samurai looks FANTASTIC. Im not exactly sure what technique it is that Surge used to achieve this look, but it looks awesome. Character models and levels are great, and the blood sprays are SWEET. Overall an EXCELLENT looking game from start to finish. Control- Incredibly easy. X is your weak slash, Y is your hard slash, A is to jump, B is to kick. LT puts you in focus mode where everything slows down and you can hack off specific body parts of the enemies, LB puts you in another focus mode that lasts a few seconds and you can kill enemies in one slash. Sound/Music- PHENOMENAL. Sam Jackson, Ron Pearlman, and Kelly Hu reprise all of their respective roles and put in great voice work, and the muic, courtesy of RZA, is FANTASTIC. Its worth playing this game just to hear the awesome tracks that RZA has put into this game. No complaints at all. Gameplay- A hack and slash through and through. This is getting from point A to point B and slicing, chopping, and cutting anyone that is unfortunate enough to get in your way. Luckily it never gets dull (for me anyway) eviserating these guys from head to toe. Length- Pretty short. You can finish it in about 5 hours give or take. Achievements- You'll get 80% of the achievements just for completing the game, the other 20% is finding the collectables and the EXTREMELY ANNOYING "poker achievements" where you must slice off a hand, arm, and leg of 3 of the same character in a specific amount of time (not as easy as it may sound). Otherwise this is a very doable 1000. Afro Samurai is a good buy especially at its dropped price point. If your a fan of the anime or hack and slash you really cant go wrong with this one.

The best game ive played in a long time
afro samurai is one of the best games i have played in like forever the soundtrack is amazing because the RZA wrote it. the controls and camera can be a little weird at first but after you get used to it they are not that bad and they released an update for x-axis camera so its easier to move. the gore is off the chain its just about as much if not more than god of war. the gameplay is cool you can go into focus and slice different parts of their body off like their head when you chop it off you can see the brain inside that part of the skull and when you chop off their feet it gushes out and then they die and then theres over focus its where you go into focus but you can kill almost anybody in one slice of the sword and you can either press x for a side cut or y for a slice that cuts them in half. it gets a little frustrating form the second half of the game on but its a minor setback. this is a great game and i would reccomend it to anybody.

Afro "not so" Samurai...
When you first slip the disk and after it loads, you enjoy some really good intro sequence, then the transition to the press "START" menu. Graphics: The graphics are exactly what I expected from this type of game. Lots of blood is let with every stroke of your katana, "Anime Blood" that is. I call it "anime blood" because its over-exaggerated. A small cut will send a gush of blood spewing out from your enemy. There is no in-game skipping or anything of that sort for this game. Challenge: The difficulty is like any other game of this type. Not much to comment further on. Length: I would say you will need to dedicate less than 50 hours of gameplay, maybe. I don't know exactly how much game time I dedicated since I'm a casual gamer. Storyline: The storyline flows very good. Every chapter coincides nicely with each other. Controls: Controls of this game are average. Interface: Interface is also very simple & neat. Sound: I love the sound effects for this game! I haven't got a chance to listen to the in-game soundtrack because I don't play with music on, but the sound effects and responses are great! There's so much unnecessary swearing. NOTE: This game got boring and repetitive very fast with me, the achievements aren't very flashy and seems almost pointless. Play at your own risk.
