2K Essentials Collection
A great pick-up if you don't own these games
These 3 games are in the "Must Own" category for just about anyone. Bioshock is technically a FPS yet has has some moderately deep RPG elements and gets into some deep stuff, both plot-wise and philosophically. Borderlands is a much lighter FPS romp, has a deep RPG influence like Bioshock, and has tons of replay appeal and total content. XCOM: Enemy Unknown is a very well-done isometric turn-based strategy game that consoles have far too few of at the moment. I already own these games but if I did not: this would be something I'd drive to the store immediately to pick up. I've written some quite lengthy reviews on these games previously so I'll leave all the nut-and-bolt details for those; for this review I'll simply say: These are ALL games that everyone should experience even if they don't look like your type of game or you think they look boring. Bioshock in particular is in my top 3-5 games of all time with Borderlands and XCOM both easily placing in the top 15-20 all time. All are classics and all should be given a fair shake by anyone who is looking for a fun gaming experience.
One note: this is a great deal for the price but keep in mind that Borderlands and XCOM both have large amounts of DLC/extra content that I doubt would be included with this package. If you know in advance that you'll be wanting most or all of this DLC: you may wish to check out the "Game-of-the-Year" edition of Borderlands or the "Enemy Within" version of XCOM. Just something I thought that I should mention
This is an awesome collection. a bunch of sweet games. but old! you can probably buy all three of these for a total of $12 used.
Awesome. Simply Awesome
I love Bioshock and Borderlands 2, they are two of my favorite games. I have not played XCOM, but I have heard good things about it. The fact that these three games are bundled into one makes this so fantastic! If you love mystery, violence, and a bit of scares, you'll love Bioshock; if you love violence, humor, and more violence, you'll love Borderlands; and if you love strategy and aliens, you'll love (I'm assuming) XCOM.
