Xbox 360 Control Pad
Not worth buying.
This thing has no difference comparing it from the MadCatz one. I bought the MadCatz and I had to return it cause every time I got in a match in Halo: Reach it threw a grenade every time I spawned cause the LT was jammed so I returned it. And when I got a new MadCatz controller the thing connecting it to the USB part was loose and wouldn't connect. And I just threw it out the trash now i'm looking for a new one. (Please don't buy this controller its the same as the MadCatz' one the difference is that it says gamestop on the SAME place.)If you wanna get a better controller check my recommendations. You'll also see the MadCatz controller i'm talking about in "My Photos".
The worst controller ever to lighten my wallet
This is probably one of the worst controllers I've ever paid for. The design is somewhat similar to the microsoft brand controller except that it lacks the comfort, responsiveness, and overall quality of the 1st party controller. I bought this controller due to it's lower price tag and overall more appealing look. That was a mistake. Right out of the box I start to experience problems such as analog sticks sticking in place, and buttons jamming. These issues forced me to return it and buy a new one. This one is defective right out of the box as well. After buying two of the same controller and both of them being of extremely low quality i cannot recommend this controller to anyone. Even the overall comfort is lacking. If you are considering picking this up to save a few bucks, DON'T! Simply save a couple more bucks for a new or refurbished 1st party controller. You will get much more use and a product of much higher quality and durability.
Works, yah, but only for a short time
I bought this controller a few months ago hoping for a good deal so I wouldn't have to spend a lot of money on 360 accessories. I was pleased with it too, since I read that it didn't work so well, and I have taken chances on things before that other people said didn't work. Unfortunately, that was not my lucky day. I noticed that the controller was starting to act weird within the first 3 weeks. I would press the A button, and there would be no response sometimes. The camera position in a game would move without me pressing the right control stick. I thought it was only temporary, but it only got worse. Soon, it would only sync into the XBox once every 4 times, and about a week later, it finally died. I returned it for the same product, only to find the same thing happened, only it happened again in just a few days. I wasn't able to get my money back though since I was told it was "my fault it broke", but I now only go with Microsoft brand accessories, and trust me, it is definitely worth the extra $.
NO INVERT SWITCH!
So I bought this controller since Silent Hill Homecoming does not have the option to invert the y-axis of the camera. Naturally this is really difficult for someone who has been playing with inverted camera for the last 20 years. So I came across the Madcatz Series of controllers which boast improved D-pad triggers and Y-axis invert switch which greatly interested me since I could finally play SH5 with the inverted camera. Now get this, even though EVERY SINGLE website (including EB Games) will advertise that this controller has an invert axis switch, IT DOESN'T. I'm not sure exactly when they decided to remove the invert switch from their controllers but IT'S GONE!! Yet every website advertises as this controller having it. As the invert switch being the ONLY reason for me to have purchased this controller, you can imagine how annoyed I was to find out that it's no longer on option. AVOID THIS CONTROLLER if you are looking for that mythical Y-axis invert switch that apparently is still being used as an advertised feature.
The Buttons Won't Stop Sticking
I actually purchased this product a few years ago. I had only one controller and I thought to myself, "hey, why get another so I can finally have friends over to play?" At the time, I had the choice of either the default controller for $60 or this one for ~$20. Despite how GameStop suggests not mentioning the price for a good review, I won't lie, I got this one because I was on a budget. I'm sure many of you are looking at this for you or your kids for just that reason. Sadly, this particular controller did not last long. After a week of owning it the buttons started to stick and slowly pop back out. I thought not much of it and I carried on using my main controller. Down the road from there I picked up Super Meat Boy, a game with lots of jumping like Mario for all you older people out there, on my computer for I got accustomed to PC gaming. I remembered I had this controller and plugged it in. Everything was going well and then the A button started to stick. Sticky A button means I won't be able to jump and that is the whole premise of the game. Jumping. Just like that, poor little meat boy died. I tried the level again, same issue. Then again, and again, and again... Several years pass by with me casually trying this controller in hopes that the buttons would stop sticking; but they never cease. The A, X, Y, and B buttons all get stuck constantly! The LB button doesn't even let me press it in anymore! As of late I've been trying to get started with fighting games on my computer and remembered I had this old controller. I've never been more irritated at trying to pull off a simple combo. So irritated that I decided it would be wise to warn others that if they really need a new controller they should buy something with a lot more quality. I can't even bother scoring it a 2 out of 10 because it does not fulfill the advertised function of being a working controller. All in all, do your research and buy something else.
NOT thebest but not the worst
When i bought this controller it was the fact that i could not afford to buy a wireless one. I enjoy this controller very much and its easy for me to use. it is a very good value and works like it is supposed to. I liked the fact that it is light weight and wired so i do not have to buy battery's a lot. Pros: its light weight, easy to use, wired, can be used with a computer, cord length is alright, and its responsive Cons: feels as if i throw it it might break, triggers do not work for continues fire on fps, it farts when a vibration happens online, buttons click, does not get and instant response once in a while all in all this controller's cons are a lot less than the pros. if its plugged into the Xbox 360 it will turn on the system if you press the xbox button. you can fix the farting by turning off the vibrations under preferences.
This madcat controller sucks
This controller is horrible. Many times the controller will think the left joystick is moving when you do nothing to it. Within 3-7 days, it will render itself useless. My experience with this controller has completely reflected what i have written here, and i've only had it for 5 days. When i play halo 3, i will start walking when i am not touching the controller, and then when it stops doing that, the left joystick won't work at all! I really recommend that you do NOT buy this controller, unless you are strapping it to an M80 and blowing it up!! Beside from the functionality of the controller, the joysticks do NOT even have grips on them! No matter what game you are playing, your thumbs slip right off making you an easy target, or losing you the race, etc. Also the start button and the select button are way up at the top on the controller, making it very hard to see the stats, scores of the game while playing.
Button placement, general feel.
To start with, before getting this controller I used a Microsoft brand rechargeable controller almost exclusively. That said, my biggest problem with this controller is trigger buttons. They are quite different, and it feels awkward to hold. Overall, I find it generally uncomfortable, but that is probably because I am not used to it. If you are looking for an inexpensive controller, and don't mind getting used to new design, then this is great for you. As for me, I just found out that there are replacement for the charge pack on the controller I was using. I'll be picking one up tomorrow.
this controller is good and does respond well. but, i have to say the controller is not comfortable at all. It feels like a piece of plastic with analogs on it. The controller is dull, too tight, the buttons are too sticky, and who even uses wired controllers nowadays??? If you absolutly dont have enough for a wired normal controller, then get this. Consider this controller as a last resort if you dont have enough. it is a shame that wired controllers are still even being sold considering the frustrativeness of the wire always interfering with your gameplay and enjoyability. AND FOR GOD SAKES if you have a short fuse, do not play with this controller during shooters or you might end up destroying your tv and maybe your 360 in utter frustration. I Hated this controller soo much that i personally guarantee you will not find it very comfortable.
works great so far
Well let me start off by saying this is a great budget controller.I bought this to replace my broken wireless controller that came with my xbox.It has worked great so far,i have had a couple of issues with my left trigger but i am pretty sure that it was just the game i was playing and not the controller.I have owned this controller for about 4 or 5 months now and have had little to no issues. The biggest issue i faced was the comfort level when i had bought the product,it takes some time to get used to the thinness of the controller but after a while it is very comfortable. The triggers are very responsive and have more precision when it comes to games like forza.Since there is no battery pack on the back you can wrap your finger around the trigger for better grip and more control.About the only thing i do not like on this controller are the thumb sticks, there is no grip on them so i find my fingers slipping off of them quite often, but this can be fixed with a pair of geltabz.i would definitely recommend this controller if your looking for a good quality controller and your on a budget.
