Rated 4 out of 10 by BlueShark9 Cool, if you like finishing last.
I read some reviews and asked people, they said not to buy it, I didn't listen to them and got one. I used this for Forza 4, the slightest movement in the wheel can send you veering off course, the steering wheel is extremely small, I kept accidentally hitting the X button over and over when turning, the paddle shifters are extremely small and plastic, and the gear lever is a cool add on, but I think pushing it forward to shift up isn't as nice as pulling back to shift up. The way it sits on your lap with the holders is nice so it won't fly around, the suction cups are horrible, the peddles are badly designed where the brake and gas is, you always just slam on the brake without warning. I'm a good Forza player, but I couldn't win one race even with the best cars, all I did was slide out with this steering wheel. MadCatz is a company that's motto should be "You get what you pay for".

The Madcatz steering wheel is a good steering wheel to have for your xbox 360. You can place the wheel on your lap or on a table. All of the controls on the steering wheel are easily accessible and the wheel its self has a firm grip. The wheel acts a a controller and you need a free USB port on your xbox 360 to activate it. The wheel is a bit bulky but its perfect for games such as need for speed. The pedals are great because you have more control over your speed and breaking. The pedals are not small, they've got the perfect size and distance between the gas and brake. The steering wheel is not wireless, the cord from your wheel to your xbox 360 is about 7 1/2' feet long; from the wheel to your pedals are about 5 1/2' feet long. I would recommend this wheel to anybody for such the cheap price.
Rated 10 out of 10 Awesome racing wheel
I just wanted to give my thoughts about this controller since there isn't a review yet. I love it, it's the only way to play games like Forza 3. I don't have alot of racing games for the 360, just Dirt and Forza 3 and they both work. I'm not sure what games all work with it but I'm sure most of them do. It takes awhile to get past the learning curve but once you do, it's so much fun. The wheel and the pedals feel very durable and the works well with the games (no lag or anything like that). The picture on this website shows the product with a white finish, but mine is black...no big deal though. All in all, I totally recommend it...you'll never play racing games with a regular controller again. If you are concerned about spending for it, don't be...you'll get your money's worth.
Rated 10 out of 10 by Qtip good wheel
OK, let me throw out there first, I've had one of these before, it lasted 4-5yrs for me before the paddle stick broke off and the gas pedal lilterally fell out.... the only flaw with the first one i had was the rubber "grips" for the pedals didn't really hold the pedals still, they would slide all over the room.... I hope that when I get this one as a replacement that the pedals actually grip the floor. Overall this wheel is good for casual gaming, but somebody needs to make an actual racing wheel that can go 900 degrees in rotation, that wont need to be recalled for repairs..... but it was an awesome first wheel, and I would reccommend it if you cant afford a better quality one if there is out there still available that can get better than this one....
Rated 2 out of 10 by Qtip Cheap Wheel, DO NOT Buy
I hate this wheel. I have had two of them in the past year or so, and they both have broke on me. The first one was poorly wired as the brakes would constantly apply (w/o pedals attached) and the wheel alignment was WAY off, but the buttons worked fine. The second one I got I was just playing my game as a regular driver, hardly even pressing the pedals and applying very little force to the wheel, all of a sudden I hear a "pop" and now none of the buttons work! It's a cheap wheel, breaks TOO easily, and I just wouldn't advise getting it. Again, I was NOT jerking around on these wheels they just simply broke. I would rather save my money to get a premium made Porsche wheel, which will be guaranteed to last 3-4yrs, or save to buy the F-1 Converter and the G27.
Rated 8 out of 10 by LIQUIDFX00 Great Steering wheel for price w/ 5yr warranty
This is a great steering wheel, and pretty much the only one you can buy in stores that is only like $100. I had to rig up something to keep the pedals from sliding, which I did by using a flat piece of wood and some nails to stop the pedals from sliding foward. It comes with a 5 year warranty so that is awesome. If you like racing games and don't want to spend a lot of money on a porsche steering wheel go for this one. Worst case scenerio would be that you didn't like it and take it back. It is worth a try. Oh yeah, Forza 3 and Shift 2 work great with this steering wheel.
Rated 8 out of 10 by VaTechHokies Great entry level racing wheel.
I'm not sure why everyone is giving this a bad review saying that's it's a cheap piece of junk. Granted you put it up against a PS3 Logitech or a top of the line $400-$700 fanatac wheel then sure it doesn't hold up, but keep in mind this is a $100 entry level wheel. People keep saying they are unable to keep control of their car during during and braking. Remember this wheel is supposed to make it much for realistic and challenging than when playing with a controller. I was hitting walls and spinning out for the first hour with the wheel, but it takes some time to adjust to it when coming from a controller. Once you get used to the sensitivatey and realistic feel of the wheel, it's an amazing feel and fun factor. It adds so much more excitement versus playing with the standard controller. This wheel DOES work with Forza 4 if anyone needs to know. Really the only thing I've found that I do not like is that the pedals slide around unless you have one foot holding the pedal stand still. I am trying to figure out a way to fasten them to keep them still during races. That is the only poor design on the wheel. The wheel itself has a good turning radious and is very responsive. The shifter is a huge draw and is the main reason I purchased this wheel for myself, the paddel shifters are a nice touch but I use the stick shifter. Overall this is a wonderful entry level wheel so long as you don't come in expecting a $500 fanatec wheel quality out of a $100 madcatz wheel.

I bought my Xbox wheel for $100. I love it and it lasted a long time. If finally broke and my local gaming store had one of these so I tried it. It is terrible. The wheel angle is all wrong as if I'm driving a bus or something. It doesn't lay in your lap nicely like the xbox version the steering feedback is non existent. It is a cheap child's toy not for the serious racing gamer. Get the real Microsoft wheel if you can...immensely better quality at the same price point.
Rated 8 out of 10 by TheStuman Great for the price
This is a cool accessory to have. I didn't have the squeaky problem like some of the other people here. Again for the price it is great. Obviously its not as good as the $400-$700 range wheels, but it provides a better feel than a controller. The only things about it that could be better is that it would be cool with a clutch pedal and the wheel is a little small for my liking. Other than that I think its a great accessory for the cash.

After trying to configure the wheel it was very clear it was not very good. For any competitive game it is worse then a controller. lack of rotation and force feedback lead to a recipe for disaster. either you're understeering like mad or are oversteering without notice. for the money you will spend, pay a little more for a lot better.
