Press Your Luck 2010 Edition
Gameplay like the show, but lacking features...
I loved the original gameshow, and the gameplay is a good recreation of the fun of the big board. Whammies, Big Bucks, trips and prizes included. The Whammie cartoons are pretty fun, and the sounds are funny, although the transitions to and from could improve. The characters are true to form, with excited clapping for themselves and each others. A bit of a necessary twist from the real life game, the questions are multiple choice for the 1st contestant to ring in, and multiple choice with one fewer answer for the remaining contestants. The big board rounds are the same, with 'owned' and 'pass-able' spins for each player. It is definitely a fun time, especially for anyone who has seen the game show. But for the cost of this game I feel it should have some more features: - Ability to save game data - A High Scores board (no, it doesn't have one) - Better question control (repeats occurred in game #2 with the same players, same session) - A multi-player function that also adds in an AI as the 3rd player - Ability to use Mii characters instead of the limited characters offered. As you play you do get to unlock accessories (clothing, sunglasses, more styles...), but I'd prefer to see my Mii styling with some earned accessories. Again, I recommend it for fans of the show, but because of a lack of some standard try to get it at a used or reduced price.
Press Your Luck is on its way!
I can't wait for the Press Your Luck game for 2 reasons. One, i've loved the game show since i was a kid. And second, its from Ubisoft who did such a great job on the Price is Right games. The thing i love most about the game is Ubisoft decided to go with the origanal formatand not the new one hosted by Tod Newton, no offence Tod. But seriously the only thing that would make this perfect would be to hear Peter Termarkin and Rod Roddy voice. Octorber 27 can't come fast enough.
