Zumba Fitness: Join the Party
it is awesome!
it is the best game in the wrld i love it i eill never stop playing it
Fun game but need some improvements
I purchased this game in PS3 version. I agree with all other gamers' comments: this is a fun game. The game is much cheaper than gym membership, and we can all enjoy the workout without being laughed at by other people in the class. Have I mention this game is very addicted, and makes you sour allover even just in 20 minutes ( for starters)? However, I think there are some improvements that need to be adjusted. I guess I have a weird body shape, the belt that comes with the bundle will not stay at the same spot throughout the session. I spent most of my time on re-adjusting the belt. I thought about switch to the 360 version, but the motion recognition from Kinect is not so great. In addition, 360 version is 10 bucks more than Wii and PS3 versions, and I just don't think it is worth of my time and money to switch it. I have also heard from many customers that they wish the company can use more popular songs. I personally don't have problem with the music, but I think it may not be a bad suggestion.
Only for those who already do Zumba
I just bought it and brought it home thinking that it would be a very fun interactive game and a good edition to my Wii Fitness collection. Unfortunately, it is not. While making a profile was no trouble, the tutorials were very lacking. I need it to explained exactly what is going on and I need to be able to get the step correctly more than twice before moving on. Don't travel around and not show or tell me where I need to put my feet before just doing it and assuming I got it in the basic step portion like the basic calypso. I should not have to drag out and put down my Wii-mote just to figure out what is happening. Also the sensors do not work, I can stand in one place and lightly move the Wii-mote back and forth and win. The only people who enjoy the game have already done Zumba classes or videos. I looked this up. So, now I am going to try to return the game and buy a video or a podcast, as that is probably the best way for me to get actual instructions in my area.
I do just have to start off by saying if you have never been to a zumba class dont write a review on the game well unless its a good one. This game is AWESOME!!! i love zumba but with a little one and my husband in Afghanistan getting to the gym became harder and harder. I gained 80 pounds when i was pregnant which was really hard for me but when i started doing zumba i lost it all and am now back to my 125 pound body. This game is exactly like the classes, easier even since you get to chose your skill level and how long you work out and they actually give you some direction. My first few classes i was a deer int he head lights they do not and can not give instructions in classes since it is so fast passed and they know eventually you will catch up. In the game on beginner workout they give you a lot of directions. The only thing i dont like is the cool down iffiness i lose all my bonus points there since your just stretching it has a hard time registering if your doing it correctly. Your not going to see results if you dont apply yourself but if you do i promise the results will be amazing.
Its not what I had expected
I was really looking forward to this game. I am trying to get fit and have the Wii active game. I figured I could alternate between the two games to make my workouts more fun. The music is GREAT!! The actual zumba classes are way too confusing!! The belt your supposted to wear on your waist keeps riding up so I had to keep adjusting that while I was trying to keep up with what was going on. The "tutorials" are not helpful one bit. I think I would be better off with an actual zumba dvd where the instructors breakdown what they are doing. I am very discouraged and disapointed!! :( I wanted to try the game so when I attend an actual zumba class I would have some idea what was going on. So now Im no better off then before I purchased the game. I should have spent a little more $ and bought the Wii fit w/ balance board. I see that game has received several positive ratings on here. I suggest if you are not sure about this game to buy it USED so you can exchange it for something else if its not what you had expected. Im now stuck with a very expensive music cd since following the game itself is too discouraging!!
Fun but Hard
I enjoyed playing this game a lot. It has good songs and keeps you moving. The twenty minute workout does not feel like twenty minutes at all because it is so much fun. However, the fitness belt that goes with it is annoying. It does not stay in place very well at all and it messes up your workout scoring. There are a lot of options to this and it will take a long time get through all of it. There are so many tutorials, but I suggest going through them before doing an actual activity. I tried to surpass the tutorials and it was a bit challenging! There are no on screen instructions as you go through the game either, that can be tricky. Sometimes the avatar gives you subtle hand gestures to show where you are going though. Overall, fun, but takes a bit of time getting used to and set up for optimal performance.
I can't stand this.
I really do not understand how the current rating for this is about an 8. It doesn't even work properly! First of all, the waist strap is WAYYY too huge for me (I may have kind of a small waist, but geez), so I have to put the wii controller in my pocket or pants band, and let me tell you it doesn't stay very well. But since it tracks your hips, you have to manage with it. Second of all, even though it may be sliding around a bit since I can't use the waist band, it doesn't read me almost AT ALL. There is absolutely nothing wrong with my sensor or controllers, and no matter how much I move it just isn't enough for the game. Its extremely frustrating. Both me and my mom (who is able to use the waist band, just barely) couldn't stand this game to the point we eventually got rid of it. Its absolutely terrible, there's too many problems with it, and the interface was a little annoying and confusing. However through the frustration it did get moving, but only because you had to move SO much (to the point it was COMPLETELY un-natural). I understand Zumba's supposed to make you move and sweat, but the amount it wants you to in this game is absolutely ridiculous. I wouldn't recommend to anyone.
I have been a Zumba Instructor for a year now, and have been taking classes for almost 2 years. I wasnt expecting a whole lot out of this game, but thought it would be sort of fun. This game is A LOT OF FUN! A lot more fun than I thought it would be! I love playing. The moves are easy to follow and it actually gives you a good work out. Its a lot better than the Dance Dance Revolution games too. We have both a Wii and an Xbox 360, and I like that you don't need to buy anything else for this one. I just couldn't justify spending $150 for the Kinect and then another $50 for the game. It works great on the wii with the Zumba belt that holds the controller (that comes free with the game!) I would highly recommend this game for anyone who likes Zumba, or anyone who likes to dance. I
I have gained alot of weight while pregnant with my child and havent lost none. I figured i would try this cuz I am always doing stupid little dances for my baby. At first i could only do 5 mins. Then i went to 10. I couldnt do the steps and i was exhausted. Then the 2nd week it got so much easier. If I couldnt do a step i would try nearest to it. Well towards The end of 2nd week is when I started to weigh. I do the 20 mins of the easy clas. Usually once a day but I have been having so much energy I do it 2 day sometimes. And weather has been nice and with all this energy i walk a couple times a day. I lost 6 pds in 5 days cuz of the zumba. I gave me energy to do so much more. I catch myself moving my hips walking to another room. Give it a chance it definat works.
Great Dancing Game!
I just bought this game and I love it! I had played Just Dance 2 and really liked the idea of a dancing video game as a work out. I'm a full time college student and I work part time so I don't have much time or motivation to work out but I love to dance! I take latin ballroom classes so the idea of getting to work out while doing salsa and other latin moves was perfect for me! I love that when it says "salsa" on the game, there's real salsa moves in the routine! I can see how it might be difficult to catch onto the moves especially if you have no dance experience but the tutorials are very helpful. If you want to work out without feeling like it's a work out, I definitely recommend this game!
