Rated 3 out of 5 by from Passable Yugioh Experience... First off, Im a huge Yugioh fan. I already bought 5d's Stardust accelerator on the Dsi and its spectacular but thats another review... I bought this game the day and It came out and at first I really liked it ( about the 1st hour), but then I got really bored with it, very fast... The story mode is a joke. For a wii game, I would expect more from konami. Were out of the era of playstation 2 and gamecube yugioh games so its about time they put some nice cutscenes with actual anime characters talking, not the same generic Cartoons who just change their expression with every paragraph that pops up. After the first 2-3 races, the game gets hard and its going to push you to play through, maybe run through the same race several times in order to TRY and beat it so the computer can just catch up to you and demolish you with his monster card. All in all, Story mode is just anime characters talking so you can proceed to the next game... boring... The graphics are nothing to get excited about, except if your a hardcore fan and like seeing stardust dragon popping out in 3d ( if you even get that far to see him being used by Yusei). The track design is of the most mediocre effort and the magic and traps dont have anything unique going for them or their effect animations. The turbo duelist themselves and their bikes are in cell shade design similar to dragon ball z budokai but they should've stuck with that design with the entire package and not just have the riders looking all nice and cool while their environments look sloppy. Overall, a minimal effort worthy of being put as an N64 game 10 years ago... Sound is bland and the monsters get old, very fast. So do their battle cries and projectile attacks. I wish you could be able to put your own music to ride with but maybe in the next game. Gameplay is where it counts and this game falls flat on its face. The first hour your saying how cool is it to attack somebody with Junk warrior but your probably going to be stuck with him as your strongest and coolest monster for a while. During the race, there are no jumps or anything intersting with which you could interact with in the environment. By your first hour, your focused soley on using your cards because your so distracted from the actual racing. Thats not good because you want a good balance between both but the game focuses too much on you using your cards in order to win. I say they shouldve just made this game a full blown wii dueling game instead of dual rider game. The ease with which you use your cards is nice but I found myself running out of cards in my deck before the second lap around the track is even half finished in a struggle to clear away from my opponents. I like a good challenge now a then but not to the extent of repition until I throw my controller down. All In all, this is a passable experience only reserved to the most extreme hardcore fan of yugioh and if your a racing fan, prepare for the dissapointment of your life. If you have stardust accelerator on your ds and your planning on connection it to this game, you cant really get anything more than 3 not so special cards and the benefits in game is the rest of the list of costumes and dual riders. ( Theyre not different costumes, just variation of the color, and same with bike). So its not worth to even connect to your ds game. Im selling it back, now...
