We Love Golf!
By reading the cover of this game it sure sounds like a lot of fun. I have learned my lesson and I will check customer reviews before I waste my hard earned money on a game for my WII. I have tried to play this game several times since I bought it a month ago. I keep thinking I must be doing something wrong because this is so difficult and not a bit of fun. I usually get to the second hole and then end up switching to the wii sports disc and play the golf. In this game it is not like real golf. I feel like you are so distracted by everything happening on screen and I even tried turning off all of the help with the remote talking. You do not just get to swing the club you have to watch a meter on the TV screen to know when to stop your back swing in order to hit the ball. You do not even have to follow throug the ball and the club swings anyway. I do not feel like I have any control of hitting the ball and just get lucky once in a while. This is not a game of golf but a game of watching TV, I thought you were supposed to keep you head down in golf, don't try that with this game because you have to watch the meter in order to get your ball to go anywhere. Don't waste your money.
The Golfing is great however
This Game is an easy pick up and play golf game. The graphics are excellent and sound is excellent. The game is a bit easy to beat in single player mode. Once you get the hang of the game your putting for birdie almost everytime. Where the game shines is online play, because you might be putting for birdie but your online friend is also putting for birdie! Ever here this old golf expression "Drive for show! Putt for the dough!" I personally love the game and would recommend it to anyone who has played super swing golf or the old pc game called Pangya. The Wiimote is an excellent fit with this game. The controls are right on. I have had no trouble hooking up with worldwide opponents but haven't been able to get a friends list going yet. I say what the heck it's a cheapie get it while you can.
All around horrible.
I'm serious. When I arrived at GameStop to buy this game, the employees there told me that it was very popular and that they only had one copy left, so I bought it being the gullible fool I am. I was also just looking for a good golfing game to give to my mom, and they convinced me this was the one to buy.So a month later, she opened it up on Christmas and found it to be...complicated. So much so that we almost threw the game away. When you first look at the case of the game, you think, "Gee, this could be kind of interesting." But then, when you insert the disc into the Wii, your thoughts quickly revert to the opposite. It this Japanese fantasy theme that is really quite jarring and utterly annoying. Gameplay is nearly impossible at the start if you've never played before, which is acceptable, but when you're trying to listen to the Wiimote plastered over the game screen, you ultimately just wish you were able to play without its help. By the time you've hit the golf ball, you will have triggered every other action in the game. One really annoying feature is the ability of the other player to taunt you, which in the position of the opponent, isn't all that bad. But in the crazy anime fashion that the game is designed, it gets worn out after 30 seconds. The realistic feel this game gives off at purchase is highly misleading that actual gameplay. I wish I had footage of our first go-around on the goldfcourse. It's literally like Mini Golf; if I wanted that, I would've gotten the "Carnival" version. Even the Wii Sports Golf is better than this let-down.Needless to say, we stopped playing after 10 minutes, took it back to the store, and paid an extra $** for the Tiger Woods 2009 Golf edition. If you want the feel of Mini Golf, get the Carnival version, and if you want the realistic feel, go for Tiger Woods or Wii Sports. But by all means...AVOID PURCHASE OF THIS GAME.
