Tony Hawk's Proving Ground
I Used to Had Tony Hawk's Proving Ground For The Wii on May 18-19 2010 and when I played the game It Was Too Hard
It sucks for the wii because the controls of the game are the worst controls for the wii, EVER! First, the game says you there are 3 types of skaters but you have to be all of them and the missions for all of them are not smart and sometimes, even though you finished the mission, the game says you failed it and you have to restart. Also the way they make you do tricks are unsmart because you have to flip the remote and nunchuk all over the place and some tricks require both the nunchuck and remote, but when you do it, the game counts them as 2 different moves.
Tony Hawk Proving Ground Xbox 360 Review
I never played this on wii but I played it on my friends xbox 360 I think it's awesome kinda hardcore but still...The graphics are awesome and the sound rocks! I luv the you can just hit people on te xbox 360
The only thing Tony Hawk proves here is this game should have never been published on the Wii
The good: some decent local multiplayer modes; graphics are alright The bad: controls feel clanky and uneven; story mode is very frustrating; some but not all content can be unlocked through cheat codes, which means you have to play the terrible story mode; Nail-A-Trick mode involves unresponsive Wii waggle and sometimes even shutting down your console; doesn't attempt to equalize the online mode and open-world design that is unique in the other console versions Tony Hawk games have always been one in the same. People expected a skater game with some urban gangster music and a collection of bizarrely-named tricks to figure out and pull off. By all means, very few of the Tony Hawk games have ever been remarkable. Mainly because the tendency of releasing games that are almost the same except for the name. And for the PS3 and XBOX 360, this version makes an attempt to introduce online mode and a free open world design. With those additions, this still doesn't make the unique Tony Hawk title that many have waited for, but we're not talking about those versions. We're talking about a version that was left out even more from being anything special and thrown in with a terrible control scheme. Tony Hawk's Proving Ground graphics are alright on the Wii. The colors are sharp and the skater stands out, but still nothing seems much different than you might expect. There is some fun to be had with the multiplayer modes, such as free skate, time attack, graffiti, and horse. You can customize your skater's outfit and skin color to about any image you would desire, being able to purchase more items as you progress in the game. The controls for this game are awkward and even tiresome. To kick you must shake the remote once, and upon doing the trick you need to shake again if you want more points. Not even the nun-chuck turning will give your character that sharp of a return. The story mode is broken down into finding random people and doing jobs for them. This wouldn't be so bad if the jobs were well thought out and somewhat easy to accomplish, but for the most part they're not. Especially when you must learn to do mid-air tricks. Using the nail-a-trick mode during the jump is especially painful. You must activate it during a jump then make rapid movements with the Wiimote, nun-chuck or both, and to make it worse if you don't do that in time, the game will freeze to the jump screen and fail to recognize any of your commands. This required me to reset the console and my arm hurt for almost an entire week. But at least you can unlock most of the skaters and three levels from typing cheat codes easily acquired from the internet, but too bad this won't unlock everything. You still have to get seven levels somehow which involves punishing yourself with this story mode, which made me give up on the game entirely. The fact that it doesn't include an online mode or free roam system doesn't seem like that much of a loss, but that would really have done justice to the other flaws on this game and would make it a somewhat approachable package. But those were left out as well. Tony Hawk's Proving Ground is a mess from the ground up. Perhaps sticking to the old formula and not attempting any major changes may have in turn made a positive difference in this game's case, but unfortunately that's not what people got, especially with this particular version. Using the Wii console's unique realism was extremely unfortunate in this case, because like a real skater I have a bruised right arm.
Tony Hawk :Proving ground LET DOWN
First of all I have been playing skateboarding games lately and I really thought this looked good. I was definitely wrong. First of all the controls were very poorly made. The challenges were ok but certainly not great. The graphics were alright. This game wasnt very realistic though. I have played tony hawk games since the first one for N64. This one wasn't the greatest. I did find a really great game though, Skate It, I made a review for it too. Skate It features flick it controls so to Ollie you just pull up on the wii remote. Where as Tony Hawk you just press the A button. Also the camera angles for tony hawk were bad too, they stayed in one spot the whole time (right behind your back). In skate it it follows you and when you do a manual it closes in on your feet. Tony hawk is mainly street also, while skate it features street and vert. bottom line dont buy this game BUY SKATE IT.
This was the first Tony hawk game for the Wii i have got so I'm not best person to refer to, but i loved this game. It was really fun how you got to choose your style though by the end of the game if you want all the places unlocked you have to do all of the styles. It had pretty good graphics and sound though I'm not the best person to refer to again. I thought it was cool how you to place a ramp or quarter pipe anywhere you wanted to. The most exciting part of the game is the "Nail the trick". It is the most immersive function in a video game i have seen and is loads of fun. It features many different places to skate including my favorite "DC national mall". I am an avid skater and loved the fact that you could just "poof" and have a cool skatepark with anything from kickers and rails to spines and quarter pipes. This is a must buy if you are looking for a skating game that you want to customize with a whole arsenal of ramps. Happy skating!
Excellent, yet poor
This game is an excellent game for those who love the skateboarding genre of gaming, however, the controls are poorly done. When wanting a specific trick or whatever, you often get what you don't want; especially when it's a trick or grab trick requiring to put the thumb stick in a diagonal position. Challenges get exceedingly difficult once you start making progress, although this is still a pretty excellent game. The graphics are extremely good and so is the interaction like the ability to check people in the level, including the occasional cop and being able to add items such as skate ramps and half pipes to the environment right from the game. Also, the ability to choose your path is quite nice. There are 3 types of missions: Hardcore, Rigger, and Career. Each have their own set goals in which you do to advance in those fields. Also, the character customization was poorly constructed. No longer the ability to make a female gender skater. Gameplay I would give 9.5/10, controls 3/10, and customization 6/10/ overall 7/10.
this game looks awesome but the fact that you might have to hold the wii remote sideways like downhill jam might make it not as good as it sounds. besides that im totaly getting it
i love it
I think this game will blow every one away with its super realistic storylines and awesome customization. I wont be able to tell the difference between me actually skating and playing this game. I cant wait for this to come out. But one thing they need to improve on from other tony hawk games is multiplayer. The multiplayer was never as fun as solo but im hoping that will change. Peace.
This game is gonna be phat. I dont skate no more but i used to when i was little. the games was hot and i was wondering if anybody new if proving ground is gonna be the same version for 360 cuz for instance Farcry for the wii was different from the one for 360. U could creat a map for Farcry for da WII
