Tiger Woods PGA 12: The Masters
I decided to purchase this game so I could play on the Augusta National course. I have purchased the new EA Sports Tiger Woods Golf every year except for last year's game, and this one is by far the most realistic one ever. I didn't think the TW 2010 could be topped, but boy was I wrong. The new Tour Pro swing setting tracks the club head direction at impact, the angle of the swing, and speed which results in a very realistic ball flight for me. Needless to say the learning curve is a bit higher for this game so don't expect to shoot a 60 your first round. There are 5 swing difficulties, so if you prefer the old standard swing, its still an option but I truly prefer the realistic swing so I went for the Tour Pro Setting. Also, if you own a Wii Balance Board, the game can track your swing balance and incorporate that into your swing. I could not be happier with my purchase and would recommend this game to any golf fan!!
This game is great overall. The graphics are slightly softer and more cartoonish than previous version, but it's not to an extent that matters. Also, this helps the smoothness of gameplay. If you play with a motionplus, every shot is extremely realistic, and is even more so with the tour pro setting, giving you the vision of a golfer. You do have to turn the remote a certain way to get the shot to work, but it only takes a little time to get the hang of. The Masters are the theme of this year's game, as it is the first year that it has been included. The course is extremely realistic, and plays like the actual course. In fact, all of them do. You can compete in all sorts of historic masters moments, including Tiger's chip in and Amen Corner. If there is one bad thing about the game, it is the few numbers in pro golfers included in the game. Many do not appear, despite EA's claims. In career mode, this doesn't matter anyway. Overall, this was worth getting when it came out. It still is, but Tiger Woods 13 should be even better if you wait.
Its about time Amen Corner and company comes to Tiger Woods PGA Tour!!! Ever since I played the first Tiger Woods I would always catch myself wondering how difficult it would be to play The Masters. I just hope that they have it layed out and setup as they would for the Masters tournament!!! I can't hardly wait!!!
Solid Game, lasting play
My initial thoughts on the game are really good. It has a solid intro with a video of Augusta National and you play a quick one hole to win Tiger his 5th jacket. The game play is great. The road to Augusta is setup very well and is a breeze to navigate and understand. Two negatives: 1. the graphics are a little softer than in previous versions. 2. It has trouble recognizing that the remote is pointing down to start your swing. May take just a couple extra seconds for it to read it. Not a big deal. The game looks great so far and I am excited to play the rest.
Great For Wii
This looks good for Wii because it will be more active and involved.
