Product Details:

The ultimate Nintendo hero is taking the ultimate step... out into space. Join Mario as he ushers in a new era of video games, defying gravity across all the planets in the galaxy. When some creature escapes into space with Princess Peach, Mario gives chase, exploring bizarre planets all across the galaxy. Players run, jump and battle enemies as they explore the many planets. For Mario to succeed, gamers will press buttons, swing the Wii Remote and Nunchuk controllers and even use the Wii Remote to point at and drag things on-screen.

Game storyline:
When some creature escapes into space with Princess Peach, Mario gives chase, exploring bizarre planets all across the galaxy.

Characters:
Mario, Peach and enemies new and old.

How to progress through the game:
Players run, jump and battle enemies as they explore all the planets in the galaxy. Since this game makes full use of all the features of the Wii Remote, players have to do all kinds of things to succeed: pressing buttons, swinging the Wii Remote and the Nunchuk, and even pointing at and dragging things with the pointer.

Special powers/weapons/moves/features:
Since he's in space, Mario can perform mind-bending jumps unlike anything he's done before. He'll also have a wealth of new moves that are all based around tilting, pointing and shaking the Wii Remote.

  • Shake, Tilt and Point! Mario takes advantage of all the unique aspects of the Wii Remote and Nunchuk controllers, unleashing new moves as players shake the controllers and even point at and drag items with the Remote.
  • Redefining Platformers: Mario essentially defined the 3-D platforming genre with Super Mario 64, and this game proves once again that he is king. Players perform mind-bending, low-gravity jumps across wild alien terrain as they experience platforming for a new generation.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing. Entertaining. Satisfying Super Mario Galaxy is the best video game I have ever played. It had an awesome storyline, great sound and graphics, and satisfying levels. I started playing four years ago and finished it this afternoon. It never failed to keep me interested and happy. Perfect for a young adult or adult who enjoys productive solo game time. I give this a solid A+.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This was a very fun game to play. I had a lot of fun playing this game. I found myself playing for hours on end with it, trying to defeat every boss level and move forward. While I do agree this game is extremely fun for everyone- that doesn't mean everyone can play. Yes, there is a two-player option, but really it's mostly for one player. That, in itself, takes away some of the fun I could picture with the game if multiple people can play. Of course that was the minor negative I have of the game, I do have a major negative. When my friend and I beat the final boss, the game still requires you to get every star in order to officially beat the game. Personally, I don't like it, but I can still proudly say I beat the game. Overall, it's a game worth playing and trying for.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wish I Had The Sequal Plaything through Super Mario Galaxy is reminiscent of other Super Mario solo games but I can honestly say it's not the best. Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine blow this game out of the water. This being said, it's still a fantastic game. The advanced gravitational mechanics of this game really give it a new depth that few platformers can achieve. I just wish I had purchased Super Mario Galaxy 2, I've heard too many good things about that game to avoid it any longer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great game but get it from a DECENT gamestop... The gamestops in Stockbridge and Fayetteville GA SUKS!!!!!!!! awful customer service, DO NOT SHOP THERE! The Stockbridge location pulled a bait and switch on me, I found the original game case with manual on shelf, got distracted on phone and guess what they put in my bag...a generic box for the game with No manual or anything. Apparently "that's what they do" which is what I was told at Fayetteville's location when I went to return it. And yes they gave me a hard time saying the disc was scratched and looking for any flaw possible. Ummm hello look at the d*** receipt I just bought it literally, I noticed they switched it on me after i got into my car!!! There was no way in h*** I even had time to go home to try playing it. Needless to say I found what I wanted somewhere else. The game is great but lately GAMESTOP SUKS!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best game in the galaxy! This is by far one of the best wii games ever! It really took all the best things from all the 3d mario games and put them all together, and made them better! the power ups are great but they don't show up that often, but still great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BEST GAME EVER!!!! This was probably the first Mario game that I ever played, and it's because of this game that I love the Mario franchise! The level design is phenomenal and challenging (The kind of challenge you like). There is nothing I would ever change about this game. Great job Nintendo!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best since mario 64 This game is awesome! I love the starship and the ability to select the level you want. The levels are original with new power ups. My favorite galaxy is no doubt Toy Time. Maybe it's the candy. :) The music is also incredible. The music from Buoy Base and Gusty Garden is just what puts Mario Galaxy over Mario 64. I would recommend this game to anyone of any age.
