Rated 2 out of 5 by from Awful This game is by far the worst nba video game I have played. When I first got this game, I thought the wii controls would be cool, realistic and unique, but it is by far opposite. The controls for shooting are terrible and the graphics are awful, as every player looks fake and childish. If you are looking for a basketball game that is playable on wii, get nba live 06 for gamecube. If you are just looking for a basketball video game, get nba 2k9. But do not get this game

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Odd Ball It's been exactly 2 years since I have owned this game. Basketball games on Wii have been a mixed bag. I heard NBA Live 08 had a lot of control problems. NBA 2K10 had horrid graphics and broken gameplay. NBA 2K11 was just amazing for a Wii basketball game. So how does this game turn out. Well let's see! ON WITH THE REVIEW: The graphics in this game are kind of ugly. They aren't the worst we have seen on the Wii, in fact NBA 2k10 looked like an N64 game, so I guess the graphics aren't that bad. The gameplay was fast paced, as a normal basketball should be. Doing tricks with the nunchuk was very cool, and shooting with the Wii remote worked perfectly. Pointing to pass was also very well implemented. The game didn't feel as much as a basketball sim because it was very easy. Driving to the net led to an automatic lay-up or dunk almost every time. Shooting was very easy to, but very satisfying. Stealing was pretty easy as well. The game is NOTHING like it is for other systems as you can tell. The game modes are pretty good. There are not as many modes as the XBox or PS3 version, but still enough to keep you busy. Season Mode was fun but was way too short, but the situation missions were a littler leangthy. Online was pretty fun too. The 3 point shoot out was only alright, and 2 on 2 street ball is a poor version of NBA Street. The dunk contest was awesome though! PROS: Fast paced gameplay, good controls, fun dunk contest, decent online. CONS: Not a lot of modes, poor graphics, very easy, street ball and 3 point shoot outs are fails. CONCLUSION: This game isn't the best basketball game for Wii. It's good, but only good. NBA 2K11 is much better. But if you are looking for a cheap game of ball that is kind of odd, then this game has you covered.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Game I thought the game was really great. If your not too picky this is a great game to get. The only problem I had with it was that there wasn't much of a challenge. I would win so easily, but don't let that stop you from buying the game. I still loved it!!!!!!!!! I thought this game was great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Awful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! nba live 09 is very hard to take seriously. The graphics are gosh awful. They totally made this game for 4 year olds. It lacks realism especially how your mii always pops on your screen every time u score. The graphics are disgusting, The Wii is way more capable of doing better but this game doesn't show it. Sadly this game looks like a n64 game. The new all play part of the game is cool for people with no knowledge of the game. But for serious gamers like me it is not fun. The game also lags alot for me online and hardly anyone online is even playing this game. The roster is all messed up too. Alot of rookies are out of place and missing. I found out while playing this game that derrick rose was on the free agent list. Thats not acceptable for a basketball game. If your new to basketball i say get this game but if your a hardcore bball fan like me, you will be greatly disappointed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from NBA live 09 (wii) The NBA live franchise is my favorite of all video game series. I am a major NBA fan and the game is excellent. However, 09 has been a serious disappointment. The graphics are terrible (fat Randy Foye?), the gameplay is poor (No taking charges?), and it lacks some great features (Create a player). It is not all bad though. If you do not follow basketball and you just want to play it is good, and it is still the best basketball game. Graphics The graphics are not as realistic as they have been in past seasons. Also, some players are annoyingly fat such as Randy Foye and Deron Williams. THere is also an extremely annoying feature called In-Game feedback. You can turn this off, but it is very distracting. On 09, there is also a feature where whenever you click on anything (play now, game modes) it shoots a ball at a hoop on the button. This makes it take a lot longer to get where you want. One more problem is the dunking on the game. Players always have trouble dunking, and the dunk indicator is off. The dunks themselves are also not very impressive (less impressive than real life) Gameplay A lot of controls are missing, such as c for ally oop and charges, and the ability to sprint. One good control is Point-and pass. However, there are many times when you point at your teammate, and the pass is a failed ally-oop. Players Some players on this game are at completely inappropriate skill levels. Some examples include: Players who are better in real life Rajon Rondo- no shot, poor handle Tim Duncan: Shot range of about 2 feet LeBron James: No ability to shoot 3's Dwayne Wade: Cannot shoot 3's Brandon Roy: Terrible on this game Dwight Howard: Can not Dunk LaMarcus Aldrige: Terrible Anthony Parker- No 3pt shot Kevin Durant: All of his shots get blocked, no range, no hops, no speed Players who are too good Bonzi wells Earl Boykins The entire Golden State Warriors team Gilbert Arenas Tracy McGrady: He is great in real life, but on this game he is better than Jordan To go along with this, the rookie selection is terrible. Derrick Rose is listed as a free agent, Mario Chalmers is missing, Brook Lopez is missing, and many other rookies are just not there. The Legends are not bad, I like the feature that allows you to put them into team rosters, but even then they are not very effective, and they are missing Michael Jordan and Charles Barkley. Create-A-Player One of my Favorite features on previous live games and in other sports games is Create a Player. it is a fun feature that should be brought back Although I think 08 was a better game, I would still buy 09. I figure that NBA live simply has not yet been perfected on the wii. I am expecting great things in 2010!
