Mushroom Men: Spore Wars
you'll get 2 or 3 good playthroughs
this is a pretty creative game, but it dulls down the more you play through it. the music, characters, weapons, and environments are cool. this does have a share of problems, when you make better weapons, you stop using the old ones, the controls are terrible, and not every level is inspirational. but this is pretty fun the first time through
My Favorite for the Wii So Far
This game is addictive...in the best way. It combines puzzle-solving, action, gathering, weaponry, an interesting story line, and an original idea to pull you into its world. Both I, not a huge console gamer, and my daughter, a regular, console gamer, both love the concept and action. This game works better with the Wii controllers, specifically the remote and nun-chuk, than any other action game we've seen.
Pax is the coolest shroom around!
The greatest wii game ou.t pic this up as soon as possible. The music performed by les claypool really brings the game alive. Graphics are some of the best around. Definately a show-case game for the wii. I even have the preorder bonus, the figurine of Pax.
This game is an awesome game!!!
So far I'm on the 4th chapter out of 9. At first I didn't think this game was challenging; however, once you start battling the bad mushrooms the challenge level goes up! This game has similar controls to Super Mario Galaxy and Zelda: Twlight Princess and the ability to throw objects like Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. This game is a definite buy. I look forward to the rest of the game! What are some pros & cons? Pros: -Supposeably there is a co-op mode were player 1 plays as Pax and player 2 helps him just using the pointer on the screen. -Story line is great -Spore powers -Type of weapons built! Cons: -Length of game (8-12 hrs) However not everything is found the first time through; so lenght could be doubled -Could be more of a challenge -Controls could be better, there still good!!!
Game was fun the whole way through
This game has graphics and music that completely set it aside from other games. The characters are lively and the story line doesn't drag, The controls handle like mario galaxy, but without the motion sickness of circling planets. The game is overall great, but there were some flaws: 1- The game took under 4 hours to beat 2- The save spots are unsure, it doesn't tell you when it is auto saving 3- Little challenge with unlimited re-spawn 4- No multiplayer There are pros to counteract this short list of flaws: 1- Weapon building and item collection is cool 2- Ability to upgrade body 3- Some levels have puzzles that will take thinking, sometimes alot of it 4- Music is awesome the only thing I fear is a low replay value, I haven't given it a shot, for the second time, but I'm sure it isn't too great. Multiplayer option would be amazing, whether its coop or against each other. Overall a good game, and hopefully a sequel will correct these flaws.
The Spore War is Upon us !!!
Ever since I saw this on interwebs, I knew I wanted it. In one of my Nintendo Power magazines, there was a poster for it as well. I definitely am looking forward to playing the Spore Wars, due to the feeling of being tiny (Much like pikmin) and you get to kick the crap out of some huge foes! The bonus item is gonna make this a favorite, and lastly, the Wii was in dire need of new games like this, so I'm beyond happy that Mushroom Men is coming out soon!
Much Needed Hardcore Game
Got a chance to play this and I am telling you its gonna be great. Some slick graphics (for the Wii) and the weapon building system is real cool. At the demo they unlocked all the weapons and there is a flamethrower! Pretty impressive. Anyways, I look to picking this up soon.
Three-inch high Mushroom Men and original music by Les Claypool, what more can you ask for? Most of the gameplay features from the side-scroller prequel Mushroom Men: Rise of the Fungi will be featured in this Wii game but in full 3D style. I was fortunate enough to play a demo of this game and it controls a lot like Mario Galaxy, ever heard of it?
