Monster Hunter Tri - Game Only
Every single aspect of this game I have found to be top-notch. The graphics are some of the best the Wii has to offer and with that I was surprised to see how the frame rate never drops. This is done by having the multitude of load screens but they only take a few seconds of your time so it really doesn't make a difference. The gameplay is superb. The game goes very in-depth for each weapon and gives each unique attributes. All the animations in this game are excellent and look natural. The game has an entire ecosystem where you can actually watch some monster swooping in from the sky to take out another. It is quite an impressive feat. Also something I felt was quite impressive was how the game developed as you played it. Every single boss monster, when you first fight them, are tough and challenge you to think of how you can best them. Most of these battles will take the majority of the time available for the quest. Once you go back to that same boss later in the game when you are more skilled and upgraded the boss seems so easy, yet every new boss challenges you to the max of your abilities. I felt this was amazing that they were able to develop the game at such a pace as you played. This is where you can truly tell how much effort Capcom put into this title and making it as best as they could. The online mode is spectacular. It really feels like an MMO when you are playing and it is even larger than single player mode. Single player mode takes forever to beat just to let you know. Online has more to it and it is very fun to take down monsters with a group of three other hunters. It is a satisfying feeling when you all finally slay that creature that has been pestering you for so long. Online is also regularly updated and helps to show Capcom's dedication to this title. I know this was a long review but it shows how much I have to say towards this excellent title (even though I could say so much more) and I would recommend it for anyone who enjoys a well-developed game. Thank you for reading this review!
Awesome game with almost limitless play
What can I say? This game has it all. An offline Story mode and Arena mode, a real-time, rank-based online multiplayer system, Wii Speak and Classic Controller (Pro) support, numerous quests, both online and offline, and hordes of realistically-designed monsters set across several realistically diverse ecosystems. And to top it off, the online quests include special "event" quests, which alternate between 8 "sets" every 4 days. This means that if you miss an event quest on a specific date, 32 days later you'll be able to undertake it. This is only the tip of the iceberg, however. There is so much depth to this game, and it cannot be summed up in one review. Whether you like a game that will keep you coming back for more, or if you just like games with a lot of content, then give this game a try. I think you'll be surprised.
Saying Goodbye to an old Friend
(Lets get one thing straight now: I only gave this game a lower score is in light of the City Mode's cancellation. If this was 2011, i would be giving it amazing ratings across the board. That being said, here is my last "Hurrah" for the great game that was Monster Hunter 3.) This game was simply amazing. Just like the previous games, MH3 delivers an amazing semi-fantasy world ripe with danger and adventure. Also like the previous installments, the game presented a great challenge as I fought great beast after great beast, knowing full well that one mistake would spell disaster. I enjoyed countless ventures from island fields, to frozen tundras, and even fighting a sand-surfing colossus atop the heavily armed vessel Dragonship. This game had me on the edge for over a year, and I was CRUSHED when i found that the ride had come to an end. And at that, i say farewell to Monster Hunter Tri, and I hope that the newest installments build upon the world even more.
One of the best games for wii
first of all i gotta say this game is one of the best i have ever played over all and on the the wii this is a really fun and challenging action-based RPG boss monsters are challenging to take down and on the other hand some monsters you can kill in one hit! there is no storyline.... but that is replaced with all the amazing action you get while killing beasties the hunting grounds are sometimes confusing to navigate but the cool backdrops and different locations change up the gameplay to make things new everytime you play when you kill the different unique monsters you get to carve the body to get different parts of the monsters to use in crafting for weapons and armors the armors and weapons are all unique according to the monster parts you are using to craft well detailed weapon and armor sets as for the graphics these are some of the best ive ever seen on the wii this is a really great game yo pick up for $** i would know i pre ordered it for $**
7/10 Gameinformer? GOT to be kidding me.
There's absolutely NOTHING to disagree with in this game. It's one of those games that you CAN'T believe it's for the Wii, AND you can't believe how many things this game nails that has never been nailed with before on the system... It's the BEST online multiplayer you'll ever find on the Wii, it has gorgeous locales and breathtaking monster design. The music is beyond epic and beautiful, and the sound effects are all perfect... It almost makes you think it's a Wii game that's good enough to be ported as is to the other consoles. Yeah it's THAT good... Worst of all though is Game Informer... THEY GAVE THIS GAME 7 out of 10?? You've GOT to be joking... For the flawless friend-code-less online experience ALONE gets this an 8 out of 10, but with everything else it offers, easily 9 out of 10... Wonder who paid that magazine off this time... Sony or Microsoft. ;) BUY THIS GAME NOW, IT'S WORTH EVERY PENNY AND EVER HOUR YOU'LL SPEND WITH IT... BUY IT NOW! DO IT...
When this game first came out, I was NOT convinced of its power and might. It just seemed like another lame game. (Heh heh, I rhymed.) Well anywayz; I checked out the Nintendo Channel, looked Monster Hunter Tri up, and slowly was convinced of its amazingness. When I actually bought the game was when I was truly blown away by its graphics (for Wii, that is), its sound, and its thoroughness, if ya get my drift. Pros: It has great sound and animation, with plentiful monsters to kill, herbs to pick, and steak to cook. You get to custom make your character.... Including the voice. Items are made for combining, says the numerous villagers. Cons: Cruddy controls indeed. The darkness in the Moga Woods is terribly annoying. Arena Mode is really really really really really really really hard. Money is a bit hard to obtain. Game can be quite vague. But above all those cons, this game is an absolute, without a doubt, MUST-HAVE!!!!! ELVIS HAS LEFT THE BUILDING
Can't put down the controller.
This game was recommended to me by my brother and is my favorite of all time. The graphics are great for the wii system and its an easy game to learn how to play. My favorite in online play because it lets me play with people i know and unlock things faster. I rate this game a 10 because it isn't a game that is easily beaten, my brother has had it for two years and still accomplishes new things everyday. This is definitely my kind of game.
Best $10 I've ever spent.
I wanted to tryout this game to see why so many of my friends were talking about it. I thought that for $10 I'd give the game a try at least. The game starts off with a cutscene that gives you a good idea on what your role in the game will be. Your a hunter, and you hunt monsters. Yup, there's not much to it. After the cutscene you might feel anxious to go slay a few monsters but the game slows down the pace. It'll have you collecting many necessary items for your quest. Once you pass the first hour or so of the game you get to the real exciting things such as hunting some blood thirsty carnivores. Overall this game will be intense, but fun and rewarding. It will take a lot of your time (you'll make time to play more) but it's definitely worth a shot. Just don't expect a Call Of Duty type game.
Best Game Series
This is one of those games that stays the same and does not get any worse. In Monster Hunter Tri they do they do the best possible thing and that is to just add more monsters. And the New weapon the Switch axe works perfectly and is as valid choice as the other weapons. I hear a lot of people say this game is hard or they want a camera lock on but the camera lock on would ruin it and as for the hardness of the game well that is what makes it a monster hunter game. It depends on skill more rather than over powered armor and weapons. The underwater parts are pretty good but i say we could have done with out them and just made the under water monsters stay on land since they already have attacks specifically for land. Over all this is one of the better game series(along with starcraft) out there and they should not change the game play rather just stick to adding new monsters and weapons as long as they work. There are hunters then there are MONSTER HUNTERS!
Let me start off by saying im a huge MH fan and have every MH game that has come out on shores. With each game ive put over 400hrs and love playing with friends. I must admit when i heard one was coming to the big systems i was overjoyed and couldnt wait. however one of my friends has the jap version of this and gave me a little feedback. Obviously it has all the fun aspects as the old ones, However ive heard that they have practically started from scratch and thusly this is not going to be like a sequel but more like a new game entirely, just like MH1 was on ps2. Now in theory that doesnt sound bad but because they have done this, alot of of the game is open to improvement. so basically theres not going to be alot of armors or weps and there will not be alot of quests as well. Now im not trying to knock it before playing it myself but having heard this im not going to get to hyped and then be disappointed. Def still going to pick it up day one though.
