Product Details:

Released in Japan on August 1st to critical acclaim and an initial shipment of over one million units, Monster Hunter Tri is coming to the West in early 2010. For the first time Western Wii owners will be able to join the hunt as one of Capcom's leading franchises makes its debut on the system. One of the most strikingly beautiful titles ever developed for Nintendo's Wii, Monster Hunter Tri depicts a living, breathing ecosystem where man co-exists with the fantastic beasts that roam both the dry land and the brand new sub-aqua environment - a first for the series. Living the life of a hunter need never be a solitary experience with the option of split-screen mode where two players can hunt co-operatively or form a team of up to four hunters via the game's custom online Wi-Fi mode. Even solo players do not have to face Monster Hunter Tri's challenging quests alone as they will be ably accompanied by Cha-Cha, an AI hunting partner whose skills will prove invaluable. Complementing the new creatures and quests that Monster Hunter Tri introduces to the series, hunters will also have the benefit of new weapons, armour sets and items, including an all new weapon class the SlashAxe and a Torch that not only illuminates the darkest cave but will fend off certain creatures to assist them as they embark on the most epic Monster Hunter adventure to date.

  • Graphics: Breathtaking graphics reveal one of the most beautiful games ever developed for Wii
  • Environments: Introduction of gorgeous new environments, including underwater and volcano present new gameplay mechanics and the ability to fight the fantastic beasts above and below the water.
  • Updated Ecosystem: A fully developed world finds man and monsters existing side by side in a living and breathing ecosystem where monsters not only interact with the hunter, but with each other as well.
  • Controls: Choose between three different control configurations using either Wii Remote and Nunchuck or Wii Classic controller to determine which best suits your style of play.
  • Online: Capcom's proprietary online wi-fi mode allows up to four players to connect online with ease.
  • Enhanced Single Player Mode: Monster Hunter Tri's introduction of an enhanced single player mode which eases players into the world of Monster Hunter delivering a series of quests that introduce game mechanics slowly.
  • Accessibility: Updated user interface makes it easy for players to select the right tool for the job via visual cues which aide in managing items for mining, gathering, carving, and more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best $10 I've ever spent. I wanted to tryout this game to see why so many of my friends were talking about it. I thought that for $10 I'd give the game a try at least. The game starts off with a cutscene that gives you a good idea on what your role in the game will be. Your a hunter, and you hunt monsters. Yup, there's not much to it. After the cutscene you might feel anxious to go slay a few monsters but the game slows down the pace. It'll have you collecting many necessary items for your quest. Once you pass the first hour or so of the game you get to the real exciting things such as hunting some blood thirsty carnivores. Overall this game will be intense, but fun and rewarding. It will take a lot of your time (you'll make time to play more) but it's definitely worth a shot. Just don't expect a Call Of Duty type game.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from This is an okay game....here's why So you can free roam. Which I love. You can hunt monsters. Which gets repetitive. The whole game is focused on hunting monsters. I got bored of it in a few days. The best part of the game is Arena mode. Which 2 players can go fight monsters in the arena. Also since the Nintendo Wifi Connection is gone, the online hunting mode is over. So buy this game if you just like to free roam and fight mythical monsters.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Saying Goodbye to an old Friend (Lets get one thing straight now: I only gave this game a lower score is in light of the City Mode's cancellation. If this was 2011, i would be giving it amazing ratings across the board. That being said, here is my last "Hurrah" for the great game that was Monster Hunter 3.) This game was simply amazing. Just like the previous games, MH3 delivers an amazing semi-fantasy world ripe with danger and adventure. Also like the previous installments, the game presented a great challenge as I fought great beast after great beast, knowing full well that one mistake would spell disaster. I enjoyed countless ventures from island fields, to frozen tundras, and even fighting a sand-surfing colossus atop the heavily armed vessel Dragonship. This game had me on the edge for over a year, and I was CRUSHED when i found that the ride had come to an end. And at that, i say farewell to Monster Hunter Tri, and I hope that the newest installments build upon the world even more.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from By Far The Best Game The Wii System Has To Offer This game is amazingly fun and its story mode will take forever and a half to complete; but I do have a couple of disappointments about this game. #1 Although there are tons and tons of monsters you have the oppurtunity to battle in this game, there are no subspecies monsters in the game such as the Silver and Azure Rathalos' (unlike the WII U and 3DS version of the game may I add), and the HUGEST problem I had with this game was that the games online server is shut down so I can't even play online with friends, which is supposed to be one of the greatest aspects of this game. All-In-All, its a pretty good game and EVERYONE who owns a wii system should make use of it and buy this game.
