MiniCopter: Adventure Flight is a great game for budding RC modelers and children who enjoy playing with RC toys, MiniCopter allows kids to customize their helicopter without worrying about breaking their toy and seeing immediate results.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A great toy for the Wii. The box suggested something like: this was a game for anyone who wanted to play with a model helicopter, without the risk of eye injury! I chuckled, and I was sold. It was a fairly affordable game, and I figured it would be a decent diversion now and again. I'm really glad I picked it up. The controls felt a little wonky at first, but after 2 missions, I totally got the hang of it. You have to remember that you are flying a helicopter! It's not like driving a car -- helicopters drift. That's what they do. Once you get the feel of the copter, it's actually one of the more immersive control schemes for the Wii. There is a nice variety of games -- basically subsets of 2 schemes: get somewhere quickly, and collection/delivering things. There's enough variety to keep you interested, but not too much that you get bogged down in having to learn new things. They keep it light, and that's perfect! (My favorite one: collecting body parts in the doctors office, and put them in the body operation-style! Don't worry, parents, in the game it is just an Operation style game you are assembling, just a model, not actual body parts...) The graphics are quite pleasant, really. They are blocky and toy-like, but since you are playing a game about a blocky toy, it fits quite nicely. Nice colors and contrast that the Wii is perfect for. There's a little bit of level-up-style things in between missions: Upgrade your copter, and fly better and faster! There is just enough depth in here to keep you coming back... Sometimes it CAN be frustrating (barely bonk into the wall 3 times, you fail) but it forces you to be precise and really nail the control of a helicopter. I never blamed a failure on the controls or the game, it was always my sloppy fault. If you want a quick-playing, moderate depth, light-challenge game, this is for you.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wii's got a sleeper hit Well, when I first looked at MiniCopter, my first thought was "hmm, another shovelware title" . This one is not. After completing the first missions I was very confident in my flying abilities and took to the park. I spent some time playing with my little heli as it soared around a park picking up trash and shooting cans. Then I thought...this is a great game. Its fun, its not to hard, and its got these great controls, you tilt forward to go forward and tilt back t go back, and you lean left or right to strafe in said direction and use the 2 button to accelerate and 1 to hover. Finally using the d-pad to rotate the rotor blade (spin left or right). The game does offer two other kinds of control schemes, one uses the pointer function to essentially tell you copter where to go, the other uses the classic console to mimic an RC remote, and the latter does the job fine. You can visit a shop after earning "gold" to make you copter the envy of all the hobby enthusiasts around you block. You can upgrade various parts on your heli to make it better, even giving a new color of paint free of charge! Some of the best fun is had picking up the bottles and cans and putting them in the proper bin, while the game doesn’t force you to do so, your conscience might take over anyways! As far as Graphics go, I'd say they are on par with chibi robo offering fully rendered areas to fly in that give the proper size scale. The outdoor environments are awesome as one of the mission has you popping balloons that are floating around (my favorite). The sound is really good and it’s got that Japanese flare with its colorful beats that make you want to get up and dance. The sound effects get the job done, you'll hear blades spinning and they will give you audible cues as to what’s going on with your heli. One of the things that makes the game more challenging is that it has a battery meter that actually requires you recharge via heliport. The game is a blast and it deserves a look at, especially if you are getting tired of all the shooting and fighting games that are flooding today's marketplace.
