Wow this game rocks!!
I have been looking for a game form my wii that is like wii play and this game was perfect it topped it. i have a track and field athlete so i was really curious about this game. every event is very challegening and takes some time to learn but when you get a group of 4 people going its so much fun. i love breakng the world records for all the events. i like how you can pick the characters from mario and sonic but you can also use your mii to compete which really makes it personal. its really a work out if you want to get your arms in shape get this game. the graphics are great the sounds is good. i have noticed when i play 1 player my player runs faster then if i play multiplayer. which in other games you play better with your friends then if its one player. but if you like games that you get to control everything this is the game for you. this game is so much better than i thought it was going to be and its my favorite game right now. the only thing they could have done better is add more events.
A game every track star would appreciate
This game was excellent and very precise. It brings every olympic event into your play area which makes for an awesome time whether you're playing with others or by yourself. You can compete against your friends or the comp. in circuit modes which feature a random selection of 5 Olympic events from fencing, track and field to skeet (shooting plates, don't think nasty) and archery. The wii controls are incredible. The controls generate a neat sort of workout during gameplay and you don't even realize that you're excercising. (Especially during the running events). The game allows you to compete and play as your personal mii or with any of the Mario and Sega Sonic characters including the villians. Each character has their own special strength in an area that fits their character. For example, Sonic would specialize in running events including the 100m dash, 4x100m relay, and hurdles. Bowser and Wario would specialize in throwing events such as the hammer throw and the javelin. Compete to beat world records held by players all over the globe which are viewable when you log onto the internet during gameplay. This game is definitely worth the price (even if it is still $** by the time you read this review). It's fun and challenging for all ages It's worth it, go get it and have fun.
Good effort but needed more to it!
Having gotten this game I thought it would be presice in gameplay, howeve, the motion controls are sloppy and feel uncoordinated. They don't make you feel in the moments of play. Playing table tennis was sloppy as well and would have felt better and been more fun if I could control the game without motion controls. Your arms do get tired from the shaking, twisting, and pointless motions you make. It doesn't feel like the DS versions which are better. Fencing, trampoline, aquatics, feel unusual to perform, flinging the controller around. Also there were simply too many pointless displays, like reshowing what place you got, and the slowness of the award ceremony and the times you have to keep plugging and unplugging the nunchuck to play different events. Too many events were not worth the playing even if they were olympic events. They were simply too repetitive which didn't help the fact the game didn't have a plot. They weren't mini-games nor were they worth spending hours trying to beat your old scrore by .10 Points. It was a nice try but motion gaming didn't help this game much.
the olympics with a stylus
This game is great for all of us ADD people who have a hard time sitting any length of time doing the same thing over and over and over again. The stylus is used for just about everything. speed and timing along with hand eye coordination are vital. and if you like your touch screen un-scratched ... don't buy this game. I've played for a while now and can tell you there's still tons more to do. it's extremely challenging in some areas and not so much in others. I'm sure this game will find a challenge for you. even if it's just "come in second in the 400m dash" This game is all about mini games. there's 16 characters to choose from and they all do everything differently. as you win in areas you unlock new games. collectors will want this cuz you can get a gold medal in just about everything and then do it again with the next charachter. I recomend this game to people with families of DS players. get together and challenge your friends. it's way more fun that way. Unlocking everything does make it even more fun but who cares?
I love this game. Its Best to play with people. The things to unlock is pretty easy. you almost always win. The world rankings is anthonther thing to go after. It gets addicting for about a week then you usually have beaten i by then.
It's about friggin time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ever since I played Sonic Adventure 2 Battle for gamecube and played Sonic the hedgehog 3 for Genisis and ever since I played Super Mario Bros. 3 for GBA and New Mario Bros. for DS, I was a Sonic and Mario fan. Both characters are doing marvelous, well, Sonic slowed down a bit, but he's still in my heart. Now here they come together. I've imagined that for a long time, but I never thought it would ever happen. But why did they take so much time to crossover. Nintendo and Sega could of fused a long time ago. I mean, after Sonic went to Gamecube in 2001, It seemed to be the perfect time. Oh well, better late than never. And there are signs that this game is going to be good. We all know that Mario games are usually good and since this game is for the DS and the Wii, Sonic has done good for the DS (I'm lookin at you Sonic Rush) and the Wii (Sonic and the Secret Rings). So this is a must have for Sonic fans, Mario fans, or both.
Great party game!
Your arms do get sore after playing for a long time but it's a lot of fun and especially with 2 or more players.
this game is sweet. You can choose from about 20 different mario and sonic characters, or you can even play as your mii. This is a great game if you love to beat your your friends in games, and if you are a party gamer.
mario and sonic at the olympic games is a pretty good game. its definitley worth getting. the gameplay is very good the graphics are great
and the sound is alright. my favortite events were trampoline and fencing.
overall i would give this game a 8.0 anyway you should get or rent this game
