Rated 9 out of 10 by pug rocker Olympics Mario and Sonic style!
I have this game for my Wii and it is really fun! I love the running because its easy and fun. This game is not I repeat NOT a wast of money! When you get it you will love it and you will always want to play it. Get this game today or get the Mario and Sonic at the Olympic winter games! Winter games is awesome and fun filled too. The characters in Olympic games are Mario,Sonic,Luigi,Yoshi,Peach,Daisy,Bowser,Dr.Eggman,Tails,Vector,Knuckles,Wario,Amy,Blaze and I cant remember the rest but trust me more characters are out there in that game! Some of the games are Long jump,Triple jump,400 m,800 m,110 m hurdles,Vault,Trampoline,Javelin throw and some others. There are also dream events like dream running where your in a desserty island place and you can get power ups while you run! If you don't like violence don't worry this game doesn't have any! Its just fun and relaxing. If your into getting one of the best Olympic games get this one. It has all the real Olympic games. So get SERIOUSLY!
Rated 10 out of 10 by LeeDog Wow this game rocks!!
I have been looking for a game form my wii that is like wii play and this game was perfect it topped it. i have a track and field athlete so i was really curious about this game. every event is very challegening and takes some time to learn but when you get a group of 4 people going its so much fun. i love breakng the world records for all the events. i like how you can pick the characters from mario and sonic but you can also use your mii to compete which really makes it personal. its really a work out if you want to get your arms in shape get this game. the graphics are great the sounds is good. i have noticed when i play 1 player my player runs faster then if i play multiplayer. which in other games you play better with your friends then if its one player. but if you like games that you get to control everything this is the game for you. this game is so much better than i thought it was going to be and its my favorite game right now. the only thing they could have done better is add more events.
Rated 10 out of 10 by noobninja1 the olympics with a stylus
This game is great for all of us ADD people who have a hard time sitting any length of time doing the same thing over and over and over again. The stylus is used for just about everything. speed and timing along with hand eye coordination are vital. and if you like your touch screen un-scratched ... don't buy this game. I've played for a while now and can tell you there's still tons more to do. it's extremely challenging in some areas and not so much in others. I'm sure this game will find a challenge for you. even if it's just "come in second in the 400m dash" This game is all about mini games. there's 16 characters to choose from and they all do everything differently. as you win in areas you unlock new games. collectors will want this cuz you can get a gold medal in just about everything and then do it again with the next charachter. I recomend this game to people with families of DS players. get together and challenge your friends. it's way more fun that way. Unlocking everything does make it even more fun but who cares?

Ever since I played Sonic Adventure 2 Battle for gamecube and played Sonic the hedgehog 3 for Genisis and ever since I played Super Mario Bros. 3 for GBA and New Mario Bros. for DS, I was a Sonic and Mario fan. Both characters are doing marvelous, well, Sonic slowed down a bit, but he's still in my heart. Now here they come together. I've imagined that for a long time, but I never thought it would ever happen. But why did they take so much time to crossover. Nintendo and Sega could of fused a long time ago. I mean, after Sonic went to Gamecube in 2001, It seemed to be the perfect time. Oh well, better late than never. And there are signs that this game is going to be good. We all know that Mario games are usually good and since this game is for the DS and the Wii, Sonic has done good for the DS (I'm lookin at you Sonic Rush) and the Wii (Sonic and the Secret Rings). So this is a must have for Sonic fans, Mario fans, or both.
Rated 4 out of 10 by gamecheck Good effort but needed more to it!
Having gotten this game I thought it would be presice in gameplay, howeve, the motion controls are sloppy and feel uncoordinated. They don't make you feel in the moments of play. Playing table tennis was sloppy as well and would have felt better and been more fun if I could control the game without motion controls. Your arms do get tired from the shaking, twisting, and pointless motions you make. It doesn't feel like the DS versions which are better. Fencing, trampoline, aquatics, feel unusual to perform, flinging the controller around. Also there were simply too many pointless displays, like reshowing what place you got, and the slowness of the award ceremony and the times you have to keep plugging and unplugging the nunchuck to play different events. Too many events were not worth the playing even if they were olympic events. They were simply too repetitive which didn't help the fact the game didn't have a plot. They weren't mini-games nor were they worth spending hours trying to beat your old scrore by .10 Points. It was a nice try but motion gaming didn't help this game much.
Rated 10 out of 10 by IRONMAN250 GREAT SINGLE OR MULTIPLAYER
WOW! What a well made fun game. I was a little hesitent buying this game, but they came through on this one and delivered a wonderful single or multiplayer game. I don't think there is anything I could complain about. as far as controls go, they are tough because there are so many different veriations but don't worry, for each game they explain in detail what you need to do. What a great idea! This is a big hit in my books and I recommend this game to anyone of any age. I play with my dad and he had just as much fun. If you read a review in a magazine about this game just ignore it. This game originally got an awful review, same thing I say for movie critics, dont trust them. Trust your fellow gamers. I was told by other gamers that had played this game that everyone that had played the game enjoyed it and so did they. That was why I bought it and was not dissapointed at all.
Rated 0 out of 10 by J-Dog I hope Donkey Kong's in it
I heard Mario, Luigi, Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Yoshi were all gonna be in the game. It said more and i hope DK is in it because for my life since i was like 7 i have always wanted a game where Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, & DK were all on a team against other people but that has yet to have happened. Even if he's not in it then i'll still get it but won't be as satisfied. I already know that Mario's gonna win and leave Sonic down in the dump. And i'm down with that. Can't wait to see Mario finally beat Sonic and his team. Some kids said that Mario was fat and there's only one thing i need to say to that. WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT!!!! Mario has gone on so many different adventures and all he eats is mushrooms, which are healthy. He's like supposed to be an annerexic. Otherwise the big belly he has must be his rock hard abs. You'll see,... you'll all see.
Rated 10 out of 10 by Sarahbear153 So much fun you never get bored!
This games is very fun and you never get bored or tired of the game because there is so much to do. It is hard at first but the more you play the easier it gets. I play this game everyday it is a very good workout ( that sounds silly but it really is). A downside to this games is you cannot play online against other people and it is hard to unlock new games and events in it, but the more you play and break world records and olympic records the more you unlock and the more challenging it gets. I LOVE this game so much and it is also great at parties where up to four people play games and challenge each other to win the gold, silver, and bronze medals. I recommend this game for anyone who is looking for a game that is fun, never gets old, has lots of activities, has a lot of characters, and loves to be challenged. I hope my review helps you out.
Rated 7 out of 10 by hit good, but no online
I'm a veteran of these types of sports games, played all sorts of olympics games on my various computers growing up and was a big fan of track and field in the arcades. What these games were above all else was a great test of hand eye and endurance as you frantically tapped two buttons quickly. And if you had someone you knew competing for high scores then it was just a great experience. For the most part this game hits on that general formula though being this is 2008, and not the 80s and 90s when I played those older games it's a little ridiculous there isn't a online setup where you can play against people(though you can look at other people's high scores). If they had online multiplayer I think this game would be stellar, but without that it kinda feels a bit drab and to be honest the events aren't as fun as those old games I remember(outside of the dream events which are pretty good). I had more fun in the end playing the old track and field on the xbox 360. But if you have a big group of friends that will actively compete with you for high scores this is worth a go, if you don't I would say don't even bother wasting your time.
Rated 3 out of 10 by Ronnoc Bad game. I strongly do not reccomend it.
One of the worst sports games out there for the wii. I would not say the worst. But one of them. This game is based in the olympics, (duh) as sega and nentendo join forces. As there mascots, mario and sonic, meet at the olympics to see who will win the glorry. I think this game is a bad game, but it has some places it shines. Here are the goods:) and bads:( about this game. Good: -there are 8 sports total (2 you have to unlock) such as swimming, fencing, and tranpoline -Many characters such as Mario, Sonic, Bowser, Egghead, Wario, peach, daisy Luigi, and Tails Bad: -The controls are a pain -The computers are so hard to beat -None of the sports are fun (exept the trampoline one, it is sort of fun) Over all, this game is a big waste of your time and money. Save your money for something that is worth your money
