I'll sum it up quick! Pitching - Great Batting - Bad The Good..The pitching is great and the design of it works well and it is very fun to pitch. Now the Bad..Batting...The problem with batting is that the numchuck has to be used ,so its like hitting while holding another controller pluged into your bat which makes it really hard to swing. I played over ten games and scored two runs the whole time both lucky swings that lead to HR's. The interface is hard to get used to at first with the Wii controller. It is hard to control and you will be looking at the game book alot to see how to navigate thru the game options The graphics are pretty good for the Wii, Im sure its nothing compared to the Xbox 360 or the Playstation 3 but the whole reason for getting it on the Wii would be for the interactive pitching and hitting. Everything else is just like all of the previous 2k baseball games which I liked. This game is prolly great on Xbox360 or playstation 3 but I would not recommend it for the Wii.
Rated 1 out of 10 by Just horrible THIS GAME IS HORRIBLE
this is the worst 2k game i have ever played. even worse than those games on nes. first, the graphics dont come close to xbox or even the bigs. Second, The controls are horrible. Pitching annoys me with the way I have to throw. Fielding involves too less movement and batting involves too much. With the batting, The player has to AIM. i dont want to aim where i hit in a baseball game. Im not a major league player. The timing is also screwed up. only when the pitcher pitches a ball and you swing it says perfect timing. Otherwise it says early or late. lastly, the computer is unfair. On the cpus team, it is played perfectly, but on my team, i try to field a pop fly and the left fielder either crashes into me or the fielder bobbles the ball. When i throw the ball, it almost always is a lob even if the second basemen is throwing or its a bullet but the computer runs to fast to get him out. If you are like me and have every 2k and bigs games dont buy this one. It was a total waste of my money and Im bringing it back today

This game is amazing, I think this is better than mlb 09 the show. I have played this and the Bigs and Mlb 09 the show this is how I rate them 2K9 # 1 The show # 2 the bigs last. This game is good the batting is hard but fun after you get used to it. Pitching is easy and awesome to do the gameplay is just amazing and i can say if you have a PlayStation get this over the show. 2K always makes their controls complicated but its worth it because it just becomes more challenging and that makes it fun the I just got the game today and i am so impressed with 2k to make this awesome, awesome game. the stadiums don't look that realistic but it is still fun to play. All i can say is if you focus more on the graphics than gameplay than don't buy this, but if you don't care much about the graphics then buy this game. I would write more but i gotta go play mlb 2K9.
Rated 2 out of 10 by bloomer45 poor hitting
it is so hard to get a hit in this wii game.even in rookie mode.i have played lots of baseball games on other game systems and this is fustrating.pitching and fielding is easy but they need to make the hitting simple.i will stick to mlb the show on ps2.best sports game for wii is tiger woods 10.would not recomened this game .wish they would let sony make the show for all systems.wanted a good baseball game for wii so i could feel like i was part of the game without haveing to sit a push buttons but the use of the nunchack and controler is fustrating.i have only played two games and scored 1 run .somehow i got a home run and i have gotten a total of only 5 hits.i have adjusted the sliders and put it on rookie mode but the hitting is still hard.try some more but if i cant do it i am going to trade this in someday.

I really like this game and i play it alot. Its pretty realistic and challenging. But the things i don't like are 1. the other team robs a ton of home runs and that does not happen alot in real life. 2. The two player shows where the pitcher is going to throw the ball (or at least where the pitch is going to start) so getting a hit is much easier than in one player. 3. In the old games you could choose to have a fantasy draft where you can choose all 25 guys you want before any one else can choose so you have all your favorites and i think that should still be an option. But the draft is just like in real life which i really like. The one player is very fun and very challenging depending on what difficulty you have it on. I really do like this game though and i play it alot. If you love baseball you might want to get this game because its great for kids and anyone that loves the game of baseball. I love baseball and its my favorite sport so this game is really fun for me. But if you don't like baseball you probably won't like this game because its all about baseball. But overall i really like it and its a great game for any kind of baseball lover.

The Controls are horrible for the wii you have to move the nunchuck where the ball is and you only have a split second to decide where the ball is. The good thing about is the new Cards you can earn is where you can create a team of the players you have. Overall I would not get this game the controls are horrible. Another thing is the graphics and the outside things are good with the team stuff but otherwise this game is just AWFUL. If you want a fun, great game I would wait for MLB 2K10 that game is looking good so far. Even when you want to field and the CPU is on easy they will hit you so bad for a homerun or a Double or Triple. When you are batting you will be lucky to get a single. But if you are really lucky when the other team pitches the ball will show up where the pitch is.

Major League Baseball 2k9 is everything for a kid to be satisfied. Sure, it's not as good as Mlb the Show 2009, but it's still an awesome game to play. Good graphics, current rosters, and great sound effects. The camera angle could be improved. Also, this game needs to be more realistic, like making it harder to rob a home run or to make an unbelievable diving play either in the outfield or infield. Overall, I definitely recommend this game to gamers interested in sports. Even though Mlb the Show 2009 is clearly a recommended game, 2k Sports has improved unbelievably and it's baseball game has gotten better in graphics, sound, controls, and even the challenge is better. Major League Baseball 2k8 was not so challenging and the sound was a little off, but there is a clear improvement in 2k9.
Rated 10 out of 10 by downtownskater00 i love this game!!!
when i got this game i thought it was gonna be all cartoonish but it wasnt. the graphics are great for a wii game. i would recomend this game. the pitching is so realistic. the one thing i dont like about it is sometimes when people get hits it makes a really loud and annoying sound other than that this games awsome!!! somebody said they make the redsox look like the nationals the redsox are awsome in this game. one thing i really like about it is if your not really good when you first get it you can change the dificulty. like you can put power all the way up untill you get used to the hitting. id get this game anyday. i dont think it is as good as it is on 360 but if wii is all you have get this game. im telling you right now you will not reret getting this game.

The batting is horrible you swing and it says perfect timing and you miss the ball. I mean when you swing a perfect timing swing you should hit the ball. There are also too many pop flies and you fly out more than you hit a homerun. You can't climb walls when it says climeb wall. I recommend buying 2k8 not 2k9. This game is horrible it makes the redsox look like the Nationals. The game make dustin pedroia look horrible he can't even hit a homerun. Jocoby ellsbury can't hit a homerun either. All the aces are horrible for pitching but pitching is the only best thing about the game. I recommend not buying this game hopefully 2k10 is better. this game has too many glitches it doesn't get the pitcher names correct it is horrible if the game doesn't get player names correct.

This game can go either way. It's a fun baseball game and any baseball fan will love it but their is one gigantic downside. The controls. The controls can really frustrate you. The pitching isn't that bad. That only took a couple minutes for me to get used to. But the batting almost drove me insane!!!! Its just so hard to get a hit and when you get a hit the base running is riddiculus!!!! IN my highest scoring games I may score 3 runs and they are off of just lucky swings that go for home runs. The fielding is pretty easy. Other than the hitting and baserunning controls this is a great basebal game. It will definately take some time to get used to but it is fun once you do. I would recommened this game to any baseball fan.
