I bought this game the day it came out. This is the first realistic sports game I have purchased for the WII. I usually buy these kind of games for the XBox but decided to try it on the WII. BIG MISTAKE! First off, the gameplay is not realistic at all. You either hit a home run or strike out or ground out. Not much inbetween. I first tried to play in All-Star mode and it was too easy. I had a 3 hit shutout the first game I played and won 21-0. I then switched to Legend mode and it was just the opposite. No matter where I pitched the ball the computer hit it out of the park, while I could not even get a hit. Now there is custom levels you can creat, but no matter where you adjust the sliders, its still either you beat the computer 20-0 or he beats you 20-0! I have just traded this in for th XBox version and it is like playing a different game altogether! Buy the XBox version if you want realistic gameplay. You will not be dissappointed. Also the WII version does not have th MY PLAY mode where you create your own player and bring him up through the ranks of the minors all the way to the HOF!

This is one of the worst Wii baseball games so far. The teams are not up to date, and the players and teams are all way underrated or way overrated. The opposition robs most home runs that are hit but, can't hit no matter the team or difficulty level. The Franchise and Season modes are still the same. The controls changed and are a little better the 2k9. On the rookie and pro difficulty the score usually end up by the cpu losing by 10+ runs and every time you hit the ball, it goes over the fence, but on all-star and hall of fame difficulty you either strike out or weakly hit a ball. The pitching is outrageous. The breaking balls have 2 foot break on them and the fastballs are all most all ways hit. And the batting stances never change and are all most always in correct and the same goes for the player faces and they're pictures.

So, after reading these reviews, I have decided to give a real one. If you're looking for a game with awesome graphics, then maybe you should have got this for PS3. This is Wii we're talking about. Anyway, a lot of the players look just look their real life selves, and some: NOT AT ALL, I mean Jed Lowrie looks like Ahnold Schwarzenhitter. It's disturbing. Now, lets focus on some cons: The commentary sucks, it's repetitive, and sucks...oh wait. But that's not what you're here for, you're here for a true to life gaming experience. People complain it's tiring, yeah, but eventually you get in shape, it's nine innings of baseball, once again, go to the PS3 if you don't want to work out. I love the game play, it's difficult but fun, don't let any of these reviews scare you like they did me, this game is great.
Rated 5 out of 10 by Bostonfan ok, but this part stinks
Not all of this game stinks. But part of it does. When I was playing the tournament I chose a game to play. I had already gone through 4 games and I was into this tournament. After I chose the game it gave me 3 choices; play game, simulate game and one other. The game kept making the screen selection bounce around. I wanted to play each game and I couldn't back out of the screen selection. I wanted to play the game, but couldn't. It chose simulate game. If the screen wasn't bouncing around I would have been able to happily finish the tournament, but noooooooooooooooooo. The stupid game with the bouncy screen wouldn't let me play the game. I was very disappointed so I quit the tournament. Three days of play wasted.

The game backyard baseball, for the nintendo wii is a very fun and exciting game. It lets you steal bases and even dive for a fly ball! It comes with a direction guide that explains the rules. It works great for all the fans on baseball out there. It also comes with a cool graphic where it has a happy face for the player having a good day, and a normal face for an OK day. The funniest, a sad face for a bad day. It also works great in tournament mode. It lets you pick eight teams from your decision for the moe, that lets you continue all the way till you found yourself a champion. There is also 2K sports MLB that has really great graphics. It has the stadium of each team. Also the real players of the club, and the players look real.
Rated 9 out of 10 by BaseballLover Great Game, I recommend it!
This game is for baseball lovers all-round. The rosters are good and up to date (2010 season), the music is good, the batting is o.k. if you are doing way to good, just change the difficulty level and you be on your way, the game has great "awards" which include, players of the week, players of the month, hot and cold players, league leaders, your regular gold glovers, MVP's, Rookie of the Year, and all the other awards. The stadiums are one of the best parts of the game, each stadium has it's own character. This game is overall in my top 5 Wii games if not in yours, it will probably be in your top 10 games. I would recommend this game to anyone that likes baseball.

I thought this game was a wate of money because The graphics where not as good and gameplay was as good as 2K9. Grahics- I thought it needed to be better because 2K9 was pretty much as good as 2K10's graphics but 2K10 just had a little improvment. I thought the people in the stands looked bad because they did not look anything like people when they did the blimp view they looked like dots and I got anoyed with that. Challange- Was horrible did not go good because the computer does not know how to play. I started playing and In the first inning I was up 17-0 and this game needs better challange because it is the easy game and I like baseball games that are harder then that. controles- I thought where good because they are good because all you do is swing the wii remote like you are swinging a actual baseball bat. I thought the pitching ws hard because you have to relly locate the pitches good for you to be successful in the game. team / player veriety - I thought the team veriety was very poor because there are only current teams and now old teams. I thought the player cousimazation was big when i coustomized a player there was over 1,000 name to look over for the player you wanted but I don't recomend it because it does not take you there immidetly. But Overall the game was ok but If you have a PS3 don't get it but for wii get it because I mean I guess it would be ok.
Rated 5 out of 10 by snoopdog53 Not the best
kinda boring and the box for the game is so wrong it says you can pitch the ball exactly where you want it, well it lied big time your lucky if the ball goes within a foot of where you want it so pitching sucks. And with batting all you have to do is swing with the right timing and you hit it. Home runs are pretty easy esp on the rookie level but a lot of the time the jerk outfielder does an impossible wall climb and somehow miraculously catches it which is very annoying. But overall the basics of the game are okay.
Rated 8 out of 10 by Waverunner Great game.
I had this game when i was little, and I could not stop playing it. I am about to get the newer mlb games, and hope those are even better than 2k 10. The stealing system is easier than most games, but pitching is not very in depth. While you do not feel like you are really at a game, it is perfect if you want to come home from school, kick back and relax.
