We've come to a crossroads for Madden Wii. EA is going with All-Play as its Wii philosophy, which means you're going to see a casual focus for the new Wii users. The company is trying to keep the hardcore gamers in the loop, and all the customization options, advanced controls, refined online, and Call Your Shot mode is evidence of this (there's even a few upgrades based on the HD versions of the game, including the return of lead blocker mode and the new slide protect system). Still, things like All-Play controls, Mii referees, fair play modes, the main party mode, and visual tuning shows that EA is also putting a heavy emphasis on the casuals, and with only so much time each year to add and refine, that means you'll never get a fully-hardcore leap so long as All-Play is around. Madden 09 has done a great job of giving every type of player a little to love, but for the Wii-only hardcore out there, you're going to need to realize that times are changing, and Nintendo is synonymous with "everybody" now.

After reading reviews i had mixed feeling getting this game it was either 10's and perfect or 1's and stupid. I have been playing madden football games since the 1997 N64 Madden and im telling you this was the first game in recent years i felt was worth the money. the Game play is off the charts!!! the season mode is solid as well as some mini games that are great to break away from the same repetitive game. Im tired of paying crazy prices every year for an updated roster and graphics ( which get better but in the past 2 years are relitively the same). The wii version doesnt have the HD graphics like the 360 and PS3 but they are not horrible eitheter. also what it lacks there it greatly makes up in game play by far a must buy for football fans. Another issue is the all play mode which throws the ball to the most open reciever this sux but i can see it being there for the kids and it can be turned off so its not that big of a deal if you want to throw it to a specific reciever and play the game a certian way.

this is a very good game. even though it does not have all of the graphics and the other features that the ps3 and 360 versions have, i love the controls on the wii. the controls put you in the game instead of just pressing buttons. the one thing that makes me ashamed of this game though is the all play. i hate it. you throw the ball and thats it practically. just turn it off before you play. it also seems that because of the all play that they had to add colorful pictures whenever you make a touchdown and dancing with the wiimote whenever you make a big play. take away the all play and this is a truly great game. also, when you pick a play, everything seems to be so cartoony. your mii is right by your cursor when you pick your play. although i like whenever you ask madden what to do, nintendo made a mii of john madden. also, unlike other madden games, when you dont know what to do and you ask madden, there will be text underneath the play he picked and why he picked that play and how it helps you in the game.

i really like madden 09. the camera angle is 5 or 10 yds above the qb when hiking then comes real close when huddleing then u catch the ball and it is above u again. the controls are simple for example to pass you just swing the wii remote down and up and u just passed the ball. The interface is good. The challenge is good once u get the hang of it it is easy though i have only lost a few of the games i have played, and i play a lot. but it is fun to play against your friends espically if u beat them. The sound is great when the ref blows the wistle it makes a wistle noise when the defense is doing a blitz it tells you sometimes sometimes it says "They are doing the same play" but sometimes they are wrong. The Team/Player Variety is great they have many like 20 or 30 teams to choose from i dont sub really so i do not know about the # of players. Over all i think this game is fun for all ages IF THEY CAN HOLD A WII REMOTE AND NUNCHUK!!

This game is well done! The graphics are very, very good for what the wiI am capable of, the gameplay is great, the work is finished and polished... much better than the NCAA title released a month ago... Online play is fast and responsive, the gameplay is fun and challenging, and the "call-your-shot" thing is fantastic! I also like the play calling screen which allows you to call plays by type of play as well as formation. That is a nice touch! I'm not sure what so many people are complaining about. If you don't like the All-Play controls, turn them off... personally, I love them! I don't have to sit and memorize twenty key combinations to play football! Yeah, the Wii referee is kind of dorky, and the mini-games are dumb, IMO... but the core game is great, fun to play, and quite impressive for a Wii title. After missing the mark on the NCAA title, EA seems to have really gotten it together for Madden. Hopefully, we will see similar improvements for college football as well! All in all, I'm very impressed and I highly recommend to others!

Madden 09 All-Play is too family oriented. It doesn't have superstar mode. They need to make it more like xBox 360 and PS3. It's boring and the play calling is too easy. People are used to the regular Madden just because it's a different system doesn't mean they have to change the game. I think last years madden is much better than this years. Next year they must get rid of All-Play or make it like they used to. If the wii is so good and expensive Wii owners should get what they deserve. Madden needs to get rid of 5 on 5 mode and make the game like they used to. The wii is a new system so people are used to the other maddens. Finally madden should not change the game just because it's on the wii and make the game like they used to. And if they want it to be for a family at least make it so it is fun for teens. I like madden and EA sports but all-play is just stupid. They shouldn't make this a game again if it stays the same.

Ok, heres some reasons why this game is not good. 1:The controls are bad. If you move the wii remote a little, then the QB passes it. 2:You really cant choose who to throw it, it just shows lights on whos open. Green light means open. Red light means covered. So you have to aim with your wii remote to throw it to. So if i move my remote to throw to the right, then sometimes it will go to the left. Making controls harder. 3:You really cant decide how high or low you wanna throw it. 4:The graphics are horrible. The PS2 graphics are better then this! This game is nothing to realstic! 5:When ever you get a Touchdown (TD), or Interception (INT), you have to shake your Wii remote to make your player dance. Which is really anoying and bad. 6:If your the away team and score a TD, or INT, the crowd will cheer for you which really poor. 7:On 5 on 5 mode, theres no pens. So you can knock the reciever down before the ball even gets near them everytime! So i dont reccomend this game for real NFL fans. This is really more of kids game, and bad. So, dont waste your money.

It may be childish looking, but inside... it's for hardcore gamers. Instead of talking about it, I'll just put pros and cons. Pros: - Graphics have been improved since last year's - Controls are a bit better, I still hate having to sling my Wii-mote... but it's ok. - Music Selection (This still has a Con, read below) - Team Selection - Roster update just like 360 & PS3 version - Better AI - Call Your Shots (This is one of tha greatest Wii-only feature) - Online Cons: - Music (It may be good to a few, but it has less of my genre, Rap.) - Celebration? (It looks stupid, and just wrong... luckily you can press "A" and skip it) - Big head mode? (Leave that to Backyard Football, for tha lil' kids) - Party Mode (Tha Wii doesn't need anymore mini-games) Of course, there's more to talk about, but those are main features. Also, to tha guy who did tha first review, you must not have played it for like a minute.

Okay so here is the deal. Madden 09 wii is a good game. The all play is able to turn off (which I recommend you do immediately). So after that it plays like a regular madden game. The just changed some buttons around (like sprint from z to b) and made tackling a lot easier. They have improved the graphics slightly in to a more arcade like feel while still is pretty realistic. They have also a new play calling system that is very similar to madden 07 wii but now it just shows three plays instead of six. The new call your shots is probably one of the best new madden features in a long time. ONline play is also a sweet addition and it is done much better than nintendo could ever do it. All of the regular modes (franchise, superstar, etc...) are there and have slightly new looks but are pretty much what you would expect. The new five-on-five mode is a more newbie friendly idea but is still fun to play for a good laugh. The celebrations are pretty stupid so just turn them off. So all in all madden 09 wii is an awesome game, do not let all play panic you, it is able to be turned off.

If you're new to the football game craze, this is the perfect game for you. I really wouldn't know if the hardcore Madden veterans would enjoy this game, but for people who, even though Madden's been around since '89, really haven't gotten into the football gaming phase, let alone football for me! It's a nice game and a really good buy if you are brand new to football. My friend, who also doesn't know a thing about football, and I absolutely love the "5 on 5" mode because it brings simplicity and challenge together. The online is one of the greatest on the Wii; the best online experience on the Wii right behind "Mario Kart Wii" even! Franchise and Superstar mode, although I haven't played them because of lack of interest, I hear are the same as last year.People are complaining that the game chooses who you pass to but you can easily turn that option off! It let's you do it before each game, and once you turn it off, it stays off, even when you reset the game. It's fun, great, and easy to pick up. I highly recommend this to all of the "curious to see what's so great about Madden" people.
