Coldstone: Scoop It Up
It's fun playing this! Very addicting! If you like challenges, this is a good one! It's like you're learning how to make ice cream and then the demand of each customer rises, and you can create your own ice cream!
An Okay game for single player..
I'd like to start off by stating the obvious, this is a product placement game, made specifically to advertise the Coldstone brand...but the gameplay is alright (at least for single player career mode - which is the only mode I have personally played). While playing Career mode you will serve Ice Cream to passing customers via your ice cream stand. This game starts off very slow and easy, but the higher levels of career mode will get fast paced and hectic (which provides a challenge). Beating levels will award you with money, which you can use to upgrade your shop and help the gameplay a bit by making things easier while managing customers and not having to restock your supply as much. I think its a very simple concept and the graphics are bright and colorful. You also have a filler game in the career mode which allows you to create your own dish of ice cream (name it, glamorize it, etc, etc).....it's not that fun but will provide some extra content to the little content this game has to offer on single player. The positives are listed above, now I'll list the negatives that I personally found: The phrases the customers make once you give them their ice cream is not that broad...prepare to hear the phrase "thank-you" and "nice" a million times over! I'd also like to say on low resolution TVs (at least my CRT) its very hard to read the text and make out some of the ice cream dishes you have to serve...(which my TVs resolution is 480p which is usually Okay for most Wii games - I mention this because Im not entirely sure if it would play out better on an HDTV). The biggest downside to this game (in my opinion)...is that to scoop ice cream into the cone/bowl/cup...you have to twist your hand to the left...and it really really really takes a toll on your wrist, its definitely not a game to finish in one sitting, even though it probably only offers a few hours of content on single player mode. Thanks my review, I hope this has helped...its not as bad as some people have said it is, but its definitely not the greatest game in existence...I'd honestly wait until it hits a lower price in the bargain bin.. Personally I ordered this game online and had it shipped to my door for $4.39...so it can be had cheaper..though 8.99 with the power up card isn't a bad price. I hope this input has helped...its not as bad as some people have said it is, but its definitely not the greatest game in existence.
This game was so slow paced. I bought it for my childs birthday and after she played I was so dissapointed I wnt out and got another game!
