Champion Jockey: G1 Jockey & Gallop Racer
Good game if you are into horse racing
Let me start this review off by saying that my rating of an 7 is coming from someone that is into horse racing. If I was not, I would have rated this game much lower. The game itself does bring some real good elements of the sport of kings to the wii. You have to train before you can become a jockey, then when you start you have to build yourself up, getting a low amount of mounts and not on the best horses. You have to hustle for your mounts, and have to build relationships with trainers just like real jocks do, so that is a plus for those that are looking for realism in this game. When it comes to the races, you get inquiries like you would in a real race, so that also adds to the realism. You can workout horses, and even try and poach mounts from other jockeys, so there are some real good points to this game. Where this game loses so much is all the little story lines that are added to this game. The cartoonish graphics that are in this game and horrible attempts to have parts of this game almost soap opera like take quite a bit away from this game. I had real high hopes for it and while I am not totally disappointed, I do feel that there could have been more to this game to make it better. Also, before I forget, the controls are clunky for the wii, which does not help it out. Like I said, if you are a track rat like I am, you will get enjoyment from this game, if you are not, you are best advised to stay away from it.
