Boom Blox is a blast!
The concept is simple enough a toddler could have created it, yet there's more than enough here to justify the cost! The idea... destroy various structures made of blocks for points while furry little creatures cheer you on. However, the your tools of destruction aren't just limited to smashing these creations in a blind fury. You can do anything from throwing a number of objects (each with unique properties) to firing weapons to even using pieces of the structure you're destroying as a wrecking ball! The game can be played either alone or in a group, leaving open huge party gaming potential at a moments notice. Finally, if the mere 300 levels of chaos included in the game doesn't satisify you, there's a complete level editor built into the game itself that allows you to modify the existing game levels or create your own... just like when you were still running around in diapers! This game is one of those rare gems that any self-respecting Wii owner should have in their collection.

Hours.. I mean HOURS of fun!
This game is geared for older players, however it also has entertaining qualities kids enjoy! I played this game for hours and only completed 32%. Many options to choose from including several multi-player modes. It is a puzzle game ranging from Jenga to shooting (not guns, lasers). You have a create feature allow you to go in and design your own puzzles, which then you are able to upload online. You have individual play where you have to go in puzzle by puzzle to unlock more games avaliable. The downfalls include ... 1. If you are unable to complete a puzzle you are unable to move on. Ultimataly you are left waiting for luck to finish. 2. Arm becomes sore very quickly. 3. Only some many times you pull blocks out before it has this repeatative feel. Keep in mind the puzzles are not the difficult, so eventually you will succeed. and once you do, you will move on to other things that are not so boring. Spielberg definatily out did himself on this one. *Very impressive game.*
Think About It.......
Now, most of you probably think this game is a gift from the gods, and some of you think it is a waste of space, I have to say that this game is at the EXACT middle. This game now has you throwing baseballs, bombs, marbles, and a bunch of other stuff at a very creative way of organized blocks. Each block can do it's own special thing, like purple swirl blocks vanish when hit, and when green chemical blocks make contact with another one, they explode. So this game always make you think about what you have to do before you throw, and you always want to think to, because this game has rules, where if you complete the objective in a certain amount of throws, or in a period of time, you will get a medal. And you HAVE to get a medal for every level, because if you don't you have to do the level again. Now, this game may be really easy to some people, and impossible for others, but this game does offer some fun multiplayer. So, if you want a fun destruction game to play with friends, give it a try. But, if you like to play alone, or online, think again.
Add this one to your Wii library for sure!
WOW!! To my surprise I am truly impressed with Boom Blox I mean when you first play the game it takes a while to get use to the controls but when you get a hang of it I can promise you that you will get addicted to this game. Steven Speilberg is certainly a genius for coming up with this game. So if you are a person looking for a casual/hardcore game then this is the one. For example you might only plan to beat one level and turn it off but after you play that one level you get into it and play the next and the next etc. till you finish the game. I am sorry but I guarantee you will get addicted to this game no matter what. As far as graphics are concerned they are pretty good... sound is alright to. The thing that impresses me the most is the overall physics of the game. This is definently a great buy and a must for your wii library.
Great fun all Around
Boom Blox is a good game. Its defined controls and challenging levels are nothing to sneeze at. It has 4 game types that are all a blast. The first one is firing. You fire at point blox to get points to win gold, silver or bronze, but there are penalty blox that remove points when shot. There is throwing, that when you aim lock on then hurl the baseball bombs or bowling balls to knock over towers or knock point blox into multipliers. There's building where you build blox into multipliers for points. There's dismantle where you use the remote to remove blox for points without knocking off the penalty blox or baby cows. There's also many game modes like explore or adventure create mode is easy to use and a blast, literally. Sound gets repetitive when you play western mode or any other theme for too long. The controls work very well, and it's challenging to try to get gold on everything. All in all this is one sweet game.
Boom Blox Is My Favorite
This is a fabulously addictive game that can give your arm such a workout you'll be nursing a sore arm the next day! The different modes change up the action, personally I like to throw things to make the blox fall down but the pull featured games are great for when you're arm simply cannot throw any longer. It's a great two player game, that would even work at a party. My family has probably played this game more than any other except for Wii Fit and everyone agrees that they love it. The colors and graphics are well done, throwing a baseball and hitting one of the little blox guys cheering you on makes for a lot of laughs as they react to getting hit. It's a game you can play for 30 minutes or hours and never get bored, in fact the biggest problem you'll have is knowing when to stop playing. Would have given this a 10, however the controls particularly when throwing don't work as well as they could and I find that you have to throw a little too hard which can make it difficult for a younger child or someone not so physically able. Other than that, this game is an entertaining, addictive game that everyone wii player should own!
What a great game!!
Boom Blox is the perfect example of a fun and funny game. You can do many things in this game like throw objects at towers to knock them down and blast objects. I must say though that the create mode is VERY challenging if you want to build something from scratch. Even with a steady hand, it is still difficult to build it on your own. I would say just use already built towers to entertain yourself. The selection of weapons to use to knock down a tower is pretty fair. You can use bowling balls, baseballs, BOMBS and even a garden hose! The multiplayer games are also very exciting to play with your buddies. This makes an ideal birthday party game to play when the weather isnt so great. The controls to the game are very good indeed. They are straight forward and easy to use which make for instant play for a while. I would say this is money well spent indeed!
great game...questionable controls
Boom blox is a good game but some parts don't work as well as they could. While the WII controller does represent the physics of these elements (exploding boxes, throwing balls) pretty well, it falls short when the going gets tough. For instance when your task is to throw baseballs to protect the "trick or treating" Mitten Kittens from the real monsters that are trying to get them, the throw mechanism seems to work well, however as the need to throw faster arises sometimes the reticule gets frozen and you can fail the mission because you can't throw fast enough. Also, when positioning items such as the pieces of a bridge, sometimes the item sticks to your grabber tool and does not place as you intended. Often this will cause you to fail your mission. Furthermore the difficulty within the levels ramps up too quickly. While the levels begin almost at too easy a skill level, they quickly become too hard for younger players to figure out. The characters are cute, the excellent level creator provides hours of entertainment and I would recommend this game, however I would caution users that the quirky controls may leave you in the lurch.
When I heard Steven Spielberg was making a video game, I was cautious about how good it would turn out, considering his last foray into the gaming world was ET for the Atari 2600. However, I shouldn't have been worried as Spielberg delivers the goods with Boom Blox. Like many other Wii games before it, Boom Blox takes a laid-back approach to gaming. You're in no hurry to do anything, and you can play the game however you want. Thankfully, there are many things you really can do, and every single one of these things is great. The controls are fluent, the graphics are clean, and the sound is fun but not too annoying, either. The game has a very easy set-up, and I can imagine gamers of any age enjoying this game. In conclusion, Boom Blox isn't the best game out there, but if you're looking for a good game to blow a weekend on, this is it.
