Worse game i have ever played hands down.....
Awful graphics, terrible music, and awkward controls and just a bad concept in general for a game make this game very horrible i regret paying $5 for it..

Really Fun
It's really cool how they remade the songs in different music genres and how they made the adventure mode. The best part is that there's a mode where you can listen to a song in any genre and you don't have to play at all.I think this is one of the coolest Wii games i've ever played.

Truly Disappointed
I purchased the game on Friday and I am real upset it was new, because I can't return it. Okay, from the commercial it looked really awesome. That is so not the case. Until I read the other reviews, I thought it was just me. The controls are horrible. I had gotten used to the mini-game in Fusion Frenzy on Xbox, and thought maybe like Guitar Hero that it would be pressing a key when the note or beat came. This is not the case (little ball just slides all over the place). It's one thing to have to move the controls left and right, but the ball bounces so you have to really focus to get your timing right and not move the controller too hard. Like I said, it may just be me though. I lost interest in the game, and even went back to do the training. I am gonna let my daughter try it, maybe from a little person's eyes it'll be better since I am stuck with it until I can find something else I want to trade it in for. I am sure someone likes it, but seeing how the prince has dropped to $***** doesn't look like that is the case.

Please Save Your Money!
Ok, like many people that would probably want to try this game because they enjoyed GH2, GH3 or Rock Band, DO NOT BUY THIS GAME! I was painfully lucky that this was a friend's rental. I feel bad for my friend having spent even just a few dollars to rent this boring, pointless game. The concept of having various styles of a song was interesting, and, to say the least, the most entertaining part of the game. It's not really part of the game, but a Bonus section where you can pick from a rather large selection of songs and pick the genre in which you want to hear that song. But game play was horrible, right, left down, that's it. No skill required to play this game. This idea of mutiple genres & having a large selection of tunes, great idea, too bad they spent all that time and energy making the different genres and forgot that it's game play that makes a game. I spent maybe 10 mins playing this game and was bored after two songs. Please, I beg of you DO NOT BUY THIS GAME! If you do, you will be sorry and upset that you spent way more money on this title than you should have. I honestly can say that even if this game was ***, I still wouldn't buy it. Shame too, good idea poorly executed.

Not nearly worth 50 bucks
For this much I would have expected this game to be of better quality. Thankfully, I only rented the game, but I can't imagine anyone ever wanting to pay more than 30 for this game; and that's pushing it. The Pros: The graphics are pretty good, and the song selection is decent. They have some recent songs mixed in with some oldies but goodies, and a few songs I haven't heard of. The idea of redoing the songs in other genres was a unique idea, and the basic concept of the game seems cool. I like that you could pick different weapons to "battle" the other band and that you only got to use these weapons if you hit a certain amount of notes in a row. The Cons: The game was a great idea; executed not so great. Although it's a really interesting idea to take the songs and put them in another genre, like country or hip hop, while I was playing I mostly found it annoying. The way it works is that as long as your band has more points, the song will be heard in your genre, but if the band your battling has more it's heard in their genre. It's hard to follow the beat in the songs when their in a different genre, and to be honest it's not really fun. The biggest problem was the controls. I thought it would possibly be like the dancing mini game in rayman raving rabbids 1 for the wii, but it wasn't. Moving side to side with the beat didn't seem natural and it certainly wasn't enjoyable. It would have been much better had the control style been more like the mini game in rayman. Overall, I think that the slight annoyance of the different music genres was not the downfall of this game. To be frank, the controls completely stink. If you're going to spend that much on something like this, you're better off with guitar hero. If you're like me, and you were thinking about getting this game as a guitar hero filler until the next one comes out in june, don't bother. I wouldn't have even bought this game for thirty bucks, that's how bad the controls were.

A BAD PROFORMANCE
If this game was a band proformance I would have thrown things at them and booed them off the stage and left feeling that I had waisted my money and time. After playing the game for about 10 min which was more than enough to give them the bennefit of the doubt, that was how I felt. I rented this game and still feel like I waisted my time and money. I was really dissapointed with the graphics and the interface, they are the worst part of the game. You can't see whats going on clearly and your so busy trying to hit all the beats thats all you see and that gets old real fast. no story and not a whole lot of animation. This game could have been a huge hit, but instead a big miss. The price for this game is way too high, DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!

AMAZING GAME
Unlike many people who posted here, I actually played a demo of this Game at a gaming convention and Its Amazing, I think it will be one of those games that will have a very fervent following. I already have Guitar Hero (superb as well) and Battle for the Bands game puts a whole spin on the Genre and is hard to put down. This is a must have if you have a Wii and if you like either Guitar Hero or Rock Band. The 30 songs are pretty good, including my favorite band Black Eyed Peas, the controls are very easy to learn and agile. This game is certaibly best played with friends, one player mode not nearly as much fun. This game doesnt force you to buy all the equipment that came with other song similators like Rockband (which is a ripoff at its current price) and certainly will leave more change in my pocket to buy a Wii fit.

lame
From reading the summary given, I can already tell that this will be a disaster. I've never even heard of Ranchero (one of the music genre's included.) Maybe this will be enjoyable for those who've never played Guitar Hero or Rock Band, but for anyone who has played either of those, save your money. Also, if I understand correctly, there are 30 songs from todays "hottest bands," that can each be played...in 5 different genre's?! The whole idea of weapons + music for this game seems like THQ just trying to make some cash off of the idea of guitar battles in Guitar Hero 3. The game is also played by using the Wii-remote, no guitar or additional add-ons. I'm not sure if the nun-chuck is needed, but having to point on the screen and actually select the notes and click them is quite stupid. Might just be me, but a lot of the time my Wii-remote will go a bit crazy when being pointed at the screen. Overall, save your money for something good. This is bound to be a disaster.
