Battalion Wars 2
I LOVE THIS GAME
I LOVE THIS GAME. There is so much strategy involved that's why I LOVE THIS GAME. There are so many veterans you can play as, bazooka veterans, assault veterans, ANTI-AIR VETERANS, FLAME VETERANS, and others. You can take on NAVAL VEHICLES like Submarines, Battleships, Frigates (anti-air), and DREADNOUGHTS (really really big and cool. If you prefer LAND VEHICLES more don't worry because there are, light tanks, heavy tanks, RECON, anti-air vehicle, battle stations (my favorite), and also artillery. If there are so many anti-air things there must be air vehicles such as, gunships (helicopters), fighters, bombers, and STRATO DESTROYERS (fighter-bomber combination). This game also features Wi-FI which you can use to do CO-OP, Skirmish, or Assault. That's also why I LOVE THIS GAME.
Nintendo Has Done It Again
Battalion Wars 2: BWii is probably one of the best shooters and/or stradegy games I've ever picked up! I first got Battalion Wars for the Gamecube looking for a worthy, cheap shooter. I was rewarded by a fantastic game! After I completed it, I had to buy it's sequel. I was more impressed with this game than the original! The graphics are phenominal and the story flows along as each cutscene progresses! The sound is crystal clear as Nintendo promises and the enemies and allies act like they're in an actual battlefield! The AI is astounding and it's very fun driving vehicles and piloting ships and planes! If your fighting to capture a city or making your way through the enemy countryside, the levels are detailed to the point of each little flower reacting to your character's movement! It's funny listening to your troops communicate with eachother while you think out your stradegy and reading the radio contacts really helps you complete your mission with a 'S' rank. I still have yet to finish this game but am nearing the end soon. In my opinion, buy the original first before you buy this game so you can be informed about each characters' personalities and strategic moves. In conclusion, this game is rated a 10/10 because this Nintendo classic should go down in history for years. It is prooven that even a Wii shooter can get good ratings! (Sorry 360! Try next time!)
GENERAL CHAOS ANYONE?
This game is awesome. It takes me back to the old school feeling of General Chaos for the Genesis. Just absolute war shooting madness. It took the first two missions to get the hang of the controls, but once I got it, the game just got better. Being able to control different types of units, from multiple type of personnel units, to ground tanks and jeeps, to battle ships, to helicopters, this has it all. I am a big fan of third person style shooters, most are first person. I was not worried about playing this game when my daughter was awake, for the violence was cartoony, instead of lifelike. I really liked getting to use the gunships, and the flame throwers, just way awesome. Nintendo actually made a good game. This game is just old-school goodness all the way around.
IN my opinion this game was much better than its predecesor. In this version you get to play with all the armies except for xylvania, but you can use them online. There even is a new army called the anglo isles. In this version I think the storyline is much better and the wii controls are much less stiff than the GC game. Also this version has online content. The online in this game is good for nintendo wifi. The one flaw with it is when you are about to loose you can turn off the power and not get the loss but the other people dont even get the forfit win. Only noobs do that though. Well anyway I reccomend this to any stratagy fan the price is right for one of the most wonderful stratagy games on earth.
My favorite game ever
This is one of my favorite games because you can command a bunch of different countries and destroy almost everything. I would like it more if you could play two players without Wi-Fi. I wish you could choose what weapons and men you have. I do recommend it to those who like excitement, battle, and explosions. Another great thing, there is no blood, cursing, or crudeness. You can command air, sea and land units. Commanding a Dreadnought is really fun because it fires three shells and can blow up almost anything with one or two shots. POWs and helipads are good for gaining extra troops and usually help you play the game with much ease. Different units are good for different things, for instance: anit-air veterans have very poor effect on ground units and high effect on air units. Overall , this is the best game I have ever played. I hope to see a sequel.
I have Never seen a better strategy
I have Played every single strategy game and NOTHING out of 1,000,000,000 Compares to this Another for the wall of fame Halo 3 Halo 2 Halo 1 Call of duty WAW Call of duty 4 Call of duty 6 Battalion wars Battalion wars 2 Banjo Kazooie Banjo Tooie Banjo Kazooie N&B Much much more Ok my reviews here Graphics Great for a wii game much better then I expected Controls Ehh I do like the Controller and numchucks but I expected they had like that nintendo original controller Sound Voice acting is good well cant say much I suppose The normal sound effects were good I thought that they would have a small sound system and leave out some gunshots or something but no GREAT Storyline Awesome just like your doing real missions for the army I also like how its realistic not like other games where you have to jump 90 foot buildings and make a bridge out off clay And Thats the end of my review
This game is a complete waste of money. It is supposed to be a strategy game, but all you can do is say: Attack, Follow, or stop! You can't command your troops to go anywhere, so there is no strategy whatsoever. And the graphics, the tank are blocky, the soldiers walk so weird, and the troops are like the size of toy army men!!! And the Artificial Intellegence is horrible! The sound is horrible, the soldiers sound like ants or something. Their are good things about this game too such as you get to drive tanks and fly airplanes. But thats it. And takes like 20 shots to kill the enemy! This game has no fun things to do, and its the same thing over and over. And get this: YOU DON'T EVEN GET A FULL BATTALION!!! You like 10 troops and a tank! That is only one third of a of a full battalion! And they say in the game thats a full battalion!! Just save your money you're money and actually get a good game.
This game is over all one of the best Nintendo games out there (Not the best don't get that confused but a very good one). For a cartoon shooter/RTS it is perfect, and that is what my review is biased on a CARTOON shooter for all of you out there that say this game is a horrible action game I thing your rating it out of category. I play BC2 and COD but this isn't suppose too be one of those so I will rate in on what it is.
GAMEPLAY: The game play in this game is phenomenal for the type of game it is. It sticks true to the original BW and doesn't try to become something it's not. The story could use a little work here and there but it's over all a interesting plot to follow. Being able to take control of all the new vehicles is also fun. Multilayer however is something to be had. Unless you play on making your friends buy the game or getting random friend codes online don't expect to play any MP. The only way to play with someone is to have their friend code and add them in-game too your friends list. This means you'll have to plan to have them on the same time as you also, instead of the traditional RTS way of just making a having people join.
SOUND/GRAPHICS: The sounds in this game are, is a sense of the word, fun. Most of the units say funny things when you take control (my personal favorite is the Tundrands everything) and the grunt have high pitch, squeaky voices which only adds to the cartoony funness. The graphics also stay true to the original in keeping they look almost the same, just a few tweeks here and there, and while this is not a bad thing in the sense of the word it would be nice to have better graphics.
Lasting Appeal: This games lasting appeal is a tricky thing to say. This will vary greatly from person to person. I find the Singleplayer to have some replay value, but not much personally. Multiplayer could/would save this game if it used the traditional method of joining games. But like I said, it depends. If you love this game and can play it again and again and again till the end of time then who am I to say too you it sucks.
Finally Say: This game stays right where it should, in the cartoony, playful section, and doesn't try to break free. It makes the game feel right and play well so overall I would have to give it a 9/10.
Thanks for reading my review :D tell me what u thing!
Best War Game On Wii!!!
I got this last night. I just played it. It's amazing!!! If you think Halo or Call of Duty are good war games, do yourself a big favor. Pick up Battalion Wars 2 right now!!! You can call in for air support, naval support, and ground support (Tanks, soldiers, etc) can do do this in Halo? No, in Halo you just go find stuff. Can you do this in Call of Duty? No, in Call of Duty you can only call in for air support. In this game (Battalion Wars 2), you can call in for air support (bombs, paratrooper drops, etc), naval support (beach support, which is trooper drop-offs, and lastly ground support (extra men, tanks, flamethrowers, and bazookas. So pick up this game and do your self a favor!!! And also smash that thumbs up button if you liked it!!!
ULTIMATE STRATEGY GAME
Battalion wars 2 is a great shooter/strategy that anyone can play. There is no blood, gore or foul language. As a battalion commander you are given a mission to complete using your battalion. Missions range from capturing enemy HQs to destroying anti-air arrays and their difficulty ranges from extremely easy to extremely hard. The controls are easy to learn and easy to use. If you're a rifle grunt, a tank, a bomber or a Dreadnought the controls are basically the same. B button to fire, pointer to aim, Z to lock on and control stick to move around. Your units are basic iconic figures that have weaknesses and strengths. for example: Bazooka vets are effective against vehicles but poor against infantry while Flame vets are effective against infantry but poor against vehicles. the key to victory is to make your troops work together. for example: Dreadnoughts can defend your Frigates from battleships while Frigates can defend your Dreadnought from Gunships and Submarines. it is very easy to give your troops a command. simply press the A button without locking on to get them to follow you or to wait. lock on to an enemy unit and press A to get them to attack that unit. you can boost your forces by liberating POWs or activating a helipad. another way to get reinforcements is to capture a facility. An HQ reinforces grunts. Barracks rein-forces infantry, factories reinforces vehicles, air bases reinforces air units and docks reinforces naval units. Non-infantry has primary and secondary weapons. You control the primary gun while the secondary guns will fire automatically. Secondary guns range from HMG guns to Anti-air guns. Battalion wars is a great WFC game that I recommend to any one who likes fun strategy games.
