Wii Wand Controller (Nyko)
Read this review.....
So I'll start by saying that i was not to psyched about getting this wii remote. I was planning on getting the new black remote made by nintendo, but I ended up with this. First thing you will notice: It looks pretty weird. But honestly you will probably get used to it. The controller works great. I don't know what everyone else is talking about. It works perfectly. Gets all your movement, has all the features of a normal wii remote, and it comes in a dozen of different colors. Everyone else that gave it bad review, I don't know if they got a defected one or what. All i know is that it works perfectly on my Wii and my friends. Oh, and it even supports Wii motion Plus and it's a lot cheaper than a regular wii remote.
This is the perfect controller for the Wii. It is so great, we own three(Black, Purple, and Pink). I was a little unsure about buying these products because of the other reviews saying how it would un-sync itself from the Wii, but none of them ever did. It was so great, we even bought the matching Kama (the off-brand nunchuks) for all three of them. The rubber battery cover and rubber "B" button on the back creates the perfect comfort. The "Wand" cover also makes the perfect comfort. The design is flawless, making the buttons on the front bigger makes it so much easier to press them when holding it vertically or horizontally is great. It functions perfectly with the Wii and the other accessories, like the "Wii Motion Plus" accessory. I would strongly recommend this product to anyone who owns a Wii.
2 And Counting
We as most people bought our original system which provided but only one controler/remote.We needed another. Not very funny how a system that promotes family and friends @ interactive play provides but only one remote in the first place. Anyhow we bought this NYKO remote an are very disapointed. As others have all ready stated it does not track/keep active signal at all. Ive taken the first one back after 6 days and now not even a week after, the replacement is even worse than the first. Certainly do not try games that require any fast or sudden action or movment. OK, all the buttons work and its design is great. It worked to type this, then again Im slow at point texting. However none of that applies when trying to play Madden,SportsResort etc.Spend the extra * dollars if you can find a original wii remote anywhere in stock. Electronics returns are to frustrating to keep returning and not fun at all.
Wand does more..
I bought this at the GameStop down my street because the price was cheaper, but also because the GameStop employee told me about the bonus features you get with the remote. I bought the package that came with the Wand and the nunchuck and I was impressed with how good it worked. Being able to pass vibration in the nunchuck is a plus for me. The extra rubber grip gives the remote a better feel especially since I do not like using the rubber jacket on my remote. The design of the remote I think makes it easier to play games that you need to turn the remote on its side such as Mario Brothers Wii. I am not very fond of the color scheme, but that is my preference and does not really have to do with any of the functions of the remote All and all I would definitely recommend this remote. I have had it for about 2 months now and it's still working great.
biggest piece of junk i've ever spent money on
i bought the nyko wand a month ago and it just quit working. about two weeks after i bought it, it had problems turning on and staying on. don't waste you're money just spend the extra ten dollars on the one made by nintendo.
My Re-Review for the NYKO Wand
I am sure you have seen many different reviews for this item. One moment, you will see a review saying "Great controller!", then the next review says, "Doesn't work! Buy the official Nintendo one!" What is my opinion? Well read on and find out! I got this remote out of surpised. I intended on getting the official Nintendo Black Wii Remote, but the black NYKO Wii Wand ended up in my hands. PRO #1: Comes in a huge variety of colors, such as white, black, blue, green, and more. Anyways, I had no trouble syncing this remote to my Wii, actually I never had any trouble with that. It always seemed to sync fine. PRO #2: I never had any problem syncing the Remote. Anyways, I was surprised that I had no trouble syncing it. I have read numerous reviews stating that it has trouble syncing and would unsync during gameplay. CON #1: Many people over the internet have had trouble syncing the remote, in and out of gameplay. Anyways, I found the remote to work just as well as any other controller. Read all of my motions well, pointer worked fine, buttons are big but comfortable, and it reads the nunchuk, wii motion plus, and most other accesseries. PRO #3: Works just as well as a normal Wii Remote. Anyways, it is very cheap. PROS #4: Very cheap. Only 25 bucks for the remote and only 30 buck for the remtoe with motion plus built in. So, as you can see, the NYKO Wand performs as well as a normal Wii Remote for me. The only time I had the Wand unsync on me is when I ran a homebrew application. If you don't know what homebrew is, then good, you will NEVER have the unsync problem. So anyways, this Wii Remote is great. I am not saying it is better then the Nintendo Remote, but it is a nice cheap alternative. Whether you want to take the risk of it working or not is your decision, but I have never had problems with this.
Not worth half of the asking price!
We bought this controller thinking "Hey, it's half the price of the official Nintendo version". We didn't realize it was also half the controller! It never syncs up with the Wii, it drains batteries within hours, and when we DO think its working, it loses contact 5 minutes later and the onscreen pointer disappears. Unless you've got a bunch of AA batteries that you have a personal grudge against and want to kill, or you want a tech-geek-looking paperweight, I wouldn't buy this controller! Just kinda disappointed that the staff at my fave GameStop pushed it so hard instead of just saying "You get what you pay for, buy the official controller because it's a thousand times more reliable" VERY unhappy with Nyko products right now.
Spend the extra money!
I purchased one of these Nyko remotes for my Wii because my husband and I wanted to play Mario Kart together. The remote worked well for about one month and we thought we got a good deal on the remote. We were wrong. All of a sudden, the remote didn't work as it should. Either it was coming out of sync with the system, or it just didn't work at all. We tried re-syncing it, but the remote would not cooperate. So we gave up. About a month later, we tried it again, and we thought that it had synched correctly. Unfortunately, it did not. The sensor bar was not picking up a signal from the Nyko Wand. The buttons on the wand worked just fine, but it is quite difficult to really enjoy the capabilities of the Wii if the sensor does not work. I would not recommend the Nyko remote to someone looking for an inexpensive alternative. Just spend the extra money and get a Nintendo remote.
A great looking product.
This controller has many aspects that make it superior to Nintendo's own Wii-Remote. For one, the included Nunchuck has rumble, as the Wand can send rumble signals. Also, it is a cheaper alternative to the Wii-Remote. The Wand looks like a promising third party controller.
I'll get straight to the point. This controller is cheap, clunky, and works just as well as the Nintendo brand. The controller is cheap considering that it comes with batteries and the skin. The controller seems "clunky" because of the really big buttons but nonetheless works great. The controller isn't as bad as many say it is. If you ask me it's just a case of human error or bad luck.
