Wii Fit Energy Pack
Nicely designed, cept it doesn't work!!!
I got the battery packet and installed and setup as directed (charged, sync'd, etc.). It plugs nicely into the bottom of the board so that that the wire for the charger can be easily plugged into one of the sides of the board, making the recharging process very easy. You simply need to connect and disconnect the charger into the side of the board. Making changing of batteries obsolete. It also has a green LED that turns on when charging is complete. HOWEVER, I never got the battery pack to work because every time you step on the board it shuts off. I think, not sure though, there is a major flaw in the design that allows the batteries to somehow disconnect or shut down when stepping on the board. I reinstalled regular batteries and the board works normally. I did this several times with the same result. I found it interesting to find the other post has a similar comment about this product.
Great design, did I get a lemon though?
I bought this the day after I bought our fit. I was very excited because I researched this item and a similar one and liked the design and 30 hour play time compared to 20 hours on the other product. I got it home, charged it and it never would turn the balance board on. I fooled with it for about 30 minutes and it never would work. I then called tech support for the product to find out they weren't open on weekends and only for about 8 hours a day during the week. Obviously being on a Sunday, this was no help to me. I got aggrevated and retuned the product to the store. They only had the one, so I just got my money back. Could it be that I just received a lemon, or was this how unreliable the product in general is going to be? I'm really disappointed because this pack will or would save a lot of money in batteries.
Like any other rechargeable pack...
It was it's the time to quit working because of human error. I bought my battery pack sometime last year, shortly after buying my WII Balance Board and it always worked with no hassles nor problems until I charged it too long and now it shuts off after a few moments of me being on the Wii Balance board. I initially thought it was my Wii Balance board acting up causing me to freak out, instead of the battery pack because the bar indicator off the wii menu said it was fully charged but once I changed the battery pack out for a regular set of batteries, the will balance board started acting normally again. So, either way, it did it's job while it was in use and I may or may not buy one again based on the price alone because I could just buy a pack of rechargeable batteries for cheaper.
